Father's Day is this Sunday. If you're getting ready to celebrate Dad or the father figures in your life, take a moment to pause and simply soak it all in because so quickly the dynamic can change when a parent is diagnosed with dementia.

I did this for my mother and my grandfather 20yrs. My grandfather lived to 102. My mom 85.I found a college student and gave them free room and board for help. She had Friday night, and all of Saturday and Sunday off. Having helped will save your sanity

@@ATexasPerson101 the youngest one is Josh. He was from Ed's second marriage, so he's a bit younger than the other five and has small children. (He is around though. I forget what he does for work, but all the siblings are successful so he probably stays busy. His wife is Rocky, and she and Danielle are very close.) Dave is oldest, he's the doctor. Mark, Sis (forget her name) and the other son I think is Adam, Dan, and Josh.

It's amazing how Dan and Danielle helped to care for Grandpa. I watched their KZfaq here from Nigeria, and i feel happy for the great work that they are doing. Even in the third world, people no longer affectionately care for the elderly without them being this sick,it is sad. Thanks to Dan,Danielle,Mark,Josh, and other family members.

We have this in our house, brings the family together to care for my dad. It does get a bit hard but we have a lot of help. My cousin recommended I watch this. It’s good to see you are not alone and families are living with seniors with dementia and caring for them. We also do 40hz sound meditation that we feel helps a lot. And Ashwagandha

Please include their website link. Its extremely uplifting to see this especially since being impacted by a father who started to have dementia before he passed away a little over a year ago and then, within six months, my wife was diagnosed with FTD. Its just been unbearable to see her struggle with things for the first time. When a loved one becomes the victim of this illness, its just terrible. At the same time, those moments when they are fine and act like the same person you have known for years are just so special. That hope is so important for loved ones and care givers. The experience makes you appreciate every good time you share with anyone important in your life. Happy Father's Day Dad....

All Westerners need to understand that they have a complete and full responsibility to their aging parents who raised, and cared for them all their lives....it shouldnt have to be said, but sadly, its an issue that needs to be focused on. Society and governments as a whole, should value, support and care for the elderly with all they have. It is how you define and judge a society

It can turn very different way, I have a neibough whose mum has the same problem, year by year he becomes so frustrated, he said he did not wish his mom die but his own life is blocked, he can’t just travell and his mom does not want to go to shelter, he wants it but mom does not, she can’t even remember how to open, lock the door… my respect to those who have so much patient as care givers. Dr Ed brings a lot of laughters to me, he can be forgetful but always be a standard father which make his children respect him in any period of his life.
