Hi, Aidan! Thank you for your amazing work! I would like to learn your course, but not now (but I will pay now), may be a few months later. Is it possible? or course has a date when it will not be available?

Yep, that's totally fine. The course material is staying up and isn't going away, so you can come back to it whenever you want to

Thank you so much for your content, may I ask you do I need to learn Python before starting this course?
@fluidmechanics101

The code is written in python or MATLAB, so you could use either. However, the code is written in a fairly basic style (only 'for' loops and conditional 'if' statements) so if you don't know MATLAB or python, you should still be able to understand how the algorithm works

This course on the SIMPLE Algorithm sounds fascinating! I'm really eager to sign up and dive into the material. Quick question: Would it be possible to modify the codes covered in the course to apply them to more complex geometry, like cylinders, semicircular regions, or other curved configurations? Looking forward to your response!

Curved configurations are quite difficult. You either need to rewrite the equations in cylindrical coordinates (not recommended) or include non orthogonal correctors. I haven't included the non orthogonal correctors in the code, but it should be a fairly straightforward extension (I explain how to do this in the course textbook). A word of caution that writing your own code to do complex things can take a long time. If you are just writing a basic extension for a simple geometry (cylinder, semicircle etc) that is quite doable. However, if you are doing difficult things, it is quite easy to get stuck and it is more often just a better idea to use existing software (like OpenFOAM) to do this for you. Hopefully this helps you make the right decision. The course is great for learning how CFD codes work, but if you are trying to run real CFD on difficult problems, then it is much faster (and more reliable) to use existing codes. If you have any more questions just let me know and I'm always happy to help 🙂

Thank you for your reply. And one more quick question. Can we solve coupled equations, like the Nernst-Planck equation along with the Navier Stokes equation using the codes development by you based on SIMPLE Algorithm? I am from India. I want to enroll in your course. Please let me know the process of enrollment in details. Can I pay through Visa Credit Card?

Having a look at the Nernst-Planck equation, it looks like you can solve this with the finite volume method. However, I haven't tried this before and I don't know about the coupling and how you would go about this (I presume the only coupling is through the velocity field. There may be other coupling through the material properties). So I don't think I can confidently say yes. I think I would probably have a look and see if you can simulate this with an existing code instead (CFX, OpenFOAM, etc). I wouldn't want you to waste your time / get stuck, so that is my honest opinion. Nevertheless, I still think the learning you can get from the SIMPLE algorithm course is useful in its own right, and you would benefit from it for your own general understanding of pressure-velocity coupling schemes and how they work. If you are still interested, I would have a look on the teachable main page, to see what payment processors they accept (I don't handle any of the payment stuff, I just deliver the teaching material). Let me know how you get on Aidan

Thank you for your reply. I got my my answer and I feel that it can be done what I want. I eagerly waiting to join this course. I tried to pay using GPay. But unfortunately it is not working (don't know why). May be because I am from India. It will be very helpful if you could suggest any alternative for the payment. Thank you. Biswajit Mallick.
