His DM sexual messages took place less than a year of us getting married...🤦🏾♀️ I didn't find out until 3 years later (2019)His wanting to all of a sudden work on it is a manipulation tactic. Once I realized my ex husband was giving me the silent treatment, I mimic the same silent treatment to him and I learned to move around him and continue to live my life but then we came at a crossroads where communication was need. He refused to communicate, compromise, or connect with me. After 17 years, I divorced him. He gave me the silent treatment throughout the divorce process although we were living in the same house. His way of communicating was through other people instead of directly to me. He is a kid at 56 years old. A kid I have absolutely no respect for. I realized after the divorce that he was struggling to be a “MAN,” not a grown man but a “MAN.”

Sis! My exes didn’t know I am the QUEEN of silent treatment and its not even to be petty. Its because I love myself, rather find solutions and move from there. If a man opts for the silent treatment all he is doing is doing me a favor and reminding me of life without him. Oh, don’t talk to me now baby is my always my approach when they comes back around...and they always do. Just to see if they can still have it. Nerp. I rather save my energy for the right man who wants me and only me, honors the same values and has integrity. Instead what I say is “Hey, I respect your decision and left you alone. I need you to respect my decision to move on.”

Yes! 3 weeks silent here. I'm not chasing. I'm not texting. I'm not calling. He went silent, so did I. If he comes back, I'm gonna tell him that I don't do games. And I respected his silence, he was either trapped under something heavy or in a coma...🙄 And now I expect him to respect I'm moving on.

Wow. I never knew this. My husband used to do this to me and it had me walking on eggshells in my relationships until I got so tired of it that I decided to get a divorce. I didn’t tell him anything. I spoke with a lawyer and I started talking to other people (on the phone). Once he found out, he was devastated and I was unapologetic and ready to leave for good. Silent treatment went for so long that I had time to heal from our “breakup” and I was completely over him. He said he had to pray and by the grace of God I decided to give it another try. And it hasn’t happened ever again. Men shouldn’t do this because if he’s not fulfilling his wife, she’s still gonna have needs and they will get fulfilled by someone else.

This is the BEST comment I have seen here regarding this topic. I blocked a guy on all social media two weeks ago for giving me the silent treatment for 1 week after we argued. He went silent, but yet he was viewing my whatsapp status every time I update it. After 1 week I decided to delete his number and block him from all SM. Mind you, months ago, he ghosted me for 1 week, without any arguments or anything. I was so confused, but after 1 week he reached out to me and I give him a chance. In the midst of our argument this time, we were on video chat and hanged up on me. I did not here from him for 1 week and I decided to cut him off silently for good at the end of the week. We never had closure in going our separate ways. This happen 2 weeks ago, so I am sure by now he realized that I blocked him. After a while I felt guilty for leaving so cold and without closure, but seeing your comment made me feel so much better. Thanks for the reassurance that I am not the bad one....I FELT THAT!!!

This is narcissism at its best. Narcissists use the silent treatment when they perceive that you have caused an “injury” to them. The dude I was with ghosted me and then came back trying to act like nothing happened when I saw him at an event last month. I ignored his desperate attempts to get my attention and barely spoke, so he has put me in the silent treatment. Meanwhile, I’ve lost 20lbs and I’m moving on with my life. Just keep it moving ladies! That ain't always true. I'm not saying I was right but I went silent out of anger. I did everything I could for her. I would walk her to the car, put lunch in the car or send her lunch. I would get home at night tired but I would sit and rub her feet and let her talk about her day even if I came home from working in the cold. I would cook on my day off, wash clothes etc... She started ignoring US, getting upset about the kids wanting to be away from everyone, then lashed out at me and compared me to all her past relationships when i didn't do anything they did. I felt so low for weeks i would only speak when i came home. I felt it was nothing i could do. I never really even asked her to cook not unless the kids were home. I feel we all have problems but after someone treats you wrong for months and then compares you to their worst is horrible. When I laughed and said no . I can't give sex as a favor! He appeared to be okay but when I went to further discuss it he didn't even want to speak about it oh, but he's the one who brought it up. Now I'm getting the silent treatment. It's okay though ... He won't be getting my goodies. He is the same person with the same habits. Let me rephrase that, he has the same demonic spirit! @@tipsy09 There are people who give silent treatments because they do not know how to communicate their feelings or feel like the one who they are giving a silent treatment to, is going to go after them like a dog goes after his boss. Men and women participate in silent treatments. I myself think it is very childish. If two grown adults can talk it out why would someone give the silent treatment. So just to let you know, someone does not always have to "act up" in order to be given the silent treatment. Some people just feel like giving them because they want to train the person.

I've learned that rejection is protection. I will not be anxious for nothing, like the " word" says. And that has given me peace, that im not willing to compromise for.

Me too gal! The narc was lookin everywhere for me. It’s like went ghost. Change my number and everythin bc I had got that block then delete real quick. Random oh calls from random numbers. Wow the audacity of these ppl to think they sn come bk into your life after display in their behaviors this way. They truly got no value. Then ran into an ol pal and he goin tried and go off on me about ‘how me going ghost is not how to treat people’ . You’d said what now?. Anywho boy bye

My husband of 28 years gave me the silent treatment for over a year. I tried to talk to him 4 times and he said nothing was wrong. So I trained myself to not speak at home, planned my departure, moved out and a year later I divorced him. Our daughters supported my desision in 2020. I've started over and I'm so grateful for what I've achieved on my own. My youngest blocked me in July 2022 and my eldest is ignoring me. I actually don't know what to do, but carry on with my life🌼🙏🌳

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. So they first supported you then 2 years later turn back on their decisions. Hope that when they grow up then they will understand.

Wow i literally been going through this for too long . My ex husband used to do it . Then my fiancé after him . He actually ghosted me when I had a miscarriage and I found out he had another young child and he went silent speradically throughout a whole year and whenever I would get him to call me back he would pick a argument and hang up on me then ghost again by blocking me on everything. Yesterday was the last time because he finally called only to pick a argument calling me a stalker , I told him listen dude you fine and all but I got options too now and I love myself enough to tell you deuces . The only mistake I made was apologizing for digging up the other child drama. So I guess he “trained” me and I’ll be single forever 🤷🏽♀️ I was crying and praying and this video popped up which gave me understanding . God bless Tony

I'm tired of the mess and I would rather put God first and let him pick for me.

Thank you for getting me back to who I use to be, sometimes these men break you over time and you lose who you really are. You are bringing me back to who I was.
