Yes indeed they were! I was kind of sad I left that out too, but editing was taking soooo long with the amount of footage that I just decided to cut my talks about him out…but I did like his character and I especially loved his relationship with Rory

Hehe maybe I shouldn’t have cut the bit of the video where I talk about Dave…this is the second comment mentioning his low ranking 😅… I only put him in C because there wasn’t enough of him. Like if he was in the show longer I believe he would be a solid A and I agree he was perfect for Lane…but bro just dips and by the end of the show I’d almost forgotten about him honestly because he was barely in it…and if I think about it, i remember thinking, where’d Dave go?? Because he was suddenly gone… like even Lane herself seemed unphased 2 episodes later like nothing happened…I don’t know, because of that sudden leave he just didn’t seem like that important of a character to me… also about the justice for Lane thing, something tells me if Lane had the same EXACT circumstances at the end of the show (rooming with a bunch of boys in an apartment, having twins, getting kicked out of Mrs. Kim’s house, etc) but it was Dave instead of Zach, people would be saying “wow, Lane’s story was SO perfect!” Which means they are not arguing whether Lane’s story arch was botched or not. They are simply arguing which boy they personally liked better, which is not at all the same thing… that is just a hunch, you can correct me if that assumption is incorrect…I thought Lane’s ending in the show was just fine as I said in the video…waaaaay better than how Rory ended up that’s for sure

Then about Jess…yeah he had some pretty terrible role-models, not gonna lie…and that’s what makes his character transformation over the seasons that much more satisfying and why I really like him as a character…that being said, I still stand by his relationship being the worst for Rory out of the big 3 relationships (disregarding the Dean affair lol) what gets me is why does everyone keep defending Jess in the earlier seasons (like 2-3). It’s clear at that time Dean was waaay better for Rory and he actually showed care for her. Dean also had his flaws but he was also only 16 when they started dating…I’m talking from Rory’s perspective here…I’m not at all saying I’m a Dean Stan lol! Bro gets excruciating to watch at times

@@StoomsClassics The actor who played Dave (I forget his name now) left to be in a different show, The O.C. (I think); I never watched that show. It’s one of my “To-Watch” shows. So his character had to be written out of the show. His CHARACTER in the show just went off to “college in California” & was never heard from again … !! 😅 To me, THAT’s the funny part … like he never “bothers” to call Lane (or any of his friends) like ever?? He disappears “off to college” & that’s it!! Lol 😆

That’s what I didn’t understand…it’s like they treated it as if he was Lane’s imaginary friend or something 😂 I was just like “okay I guess he’s gone forever now” lol…but yeah the OC I’ve definitely heard of that. Figured that’s why they took him out of the show for another role

Yeah that’s what I was wondering, like do people even consider the Netflix adaptation as canon?? I wasn’t so sure about that…to be fair, the characters pretty much stayed the same even in that so it’s not too far fetched…but yeah I guess you are right…Rory was still pretty much a teen, she gets a lil slack for that 😅

Oh yeah! That would be epic for Lane! Not a bad alternate ending if I do say so myself! She definitely did not excel as much as she could have in her dream which I will admit is disappointing…I just appreciated how it didn’t end with her being bitter about things.

Yay Mom! I love hearing your response! We agree on most things…except about Emily and Richard. Honestly, Lorelei and Max would have worked out great…he also really cared for Rory which was special and I felt that they had the least amount of conflict between Lorelai’s 3 relationships. Typically I would view conflict as a good thing but the conflicts that came up with Luke and Christopher were a lil too serious to just blow over so I actually value max for that…but of course Lorelai had to screw everything up with him! lol! Love you Ma! ❤️

I mean he is top of the B tier…that’s quite a solid ranking…and I like him a heeeck of a lot better than Dean as a character and think he was the best for Rory overall…but my point still stands: he has a lot of flaws and often tries to ignore them, which led to, for a brief time, him holding Rory back…and then in the Netflix remake, he and Rory were still lovers after not getting married to each other and HE was getting married to somebody else. At that point their relationship was a huge red flag…but yeah if you disregard the remake, he was a pretty solid character…with flaws

I might have goated jess and Lane too. I get why Lane wouldn't be so interesting for most viewers but coming from strict religious family I immensely appreciate the courage she showed, she is like a superhero to me and her story makes me cry. I love that she ended with happy family, inc with her mum, and getting to be completely accepted for being herself. Love her ending. She seems most content character at the end and I find it ironic that so many viewers feel discontent on her behalf when she is happy and surrounded by love and acceptance. I'd have moved lorelai way down. Although she's a tough one as she is funny, charismatic and has redeeming moments but overall I find her self righteousness and treatment of others hard to stomach. Fun video though, thanks for making it, enjoyed the lighthearted tone.

@@CD-qr7ec yes! Thank you! That’s what I was saying about Lane…like her ending is totally justified and she seemed pretty happy so I don’t get the fuss. And I honestly think Zach is fine for her…he seemed pretty dang caring and concerned when she had her troubled moments so I like him a lot!

@@CD-qr7ec and yeah you’re right about Lorelei being a bit too much sometimes…she comes off a little too savage and also she’s always self sabotaging which is so obnoxious…but I put her in A because in her role as the main, story-driving character, there is nobody who would have nailed it better and kept it interesting for as long as she did. But yeah I totally get what you’re saying

Yes! I know who you are talking about...he was in there maybe like 2 episodes and then dipped...made me think he was just a cameo haha! I thought he was a chill dude, but felt if he became more "official" with Lorelai, he wouldn't last just because of her energy level. Like to me from what little time he was in the show they seemed polar opposite...which sometimes works I guess, don't get me wrong :)

Yeah I actually like Dave. He was nice when he was in the show and great for Lane. However, he was in there for such a short time and then dipped and was basically never talked about again…therefore, he didn’t leave a big lasting impression on me…I left him in C not because he deserves to be there as a character, but because he just wasn’t in it enough in my opinion to be a more considerable character

Aww yeah...I would agree at first...at the end of the day, a guy like him is probably what Rory needed. But he ruined his likeability by obsessing over her instead of appreciating his girlfriend in the later episodes. He just lost it with me at that point. But he was sweet! I do agree

No… if the premise was: “this is how every girl talks” then it would be sexist. But the premise every time was about opinions surrounding Jess and Dean… a very large population of people obsess over Jess simply because he is attractive and hate on Dean simply because they don’t like him as a person without looking at them from Rory’s perspective who is actually the one dating them. In my personal opinion that is not a very valid assessment. Therefore, I am mocking the opinion. The reason I put on a “girly” voice is because yes, the majority of the people with that opinion are women…did I ever say “all women sound like this”? Nope. Many women have not seen the show at all. Many do not hold the opinion that I mocked…therefore, again the mock is over the opinion, not over the entire sex…which was quite clear to me from the video. And at the end of the day, if I do bits like the one you are probably referring to, it’s not that deep. That’s me having fun with it and making a joke…at the end of the day I don’t really care. Everyone has their own opinion, but I think a little banter with the ones I disagree with is all in good fun. I apologize that I used the name “Chelsea” in the bit, but I assure you those are 2 names I randomly thought of, and I don’t have anything against those names 😅. I do hope you have a good day!
