Visit drhyman.com/longevity to sign up for my weekly Longevity newsletter and get all of my longevity tips.
I love the idea of creating a healthier life to best enjoy the years to come. I want to live to be 120 but I don’t just want to reach that age, I want to do it vibrantly. Luckily, I know exactly how to do that (and I do plan to live to be 120, vibrantly!), and I’m sharing all that information with you in The Longevity Roadmap. You'll hear the science behind preventing the most prevalent diseases of aging, and we’ll talk about what it means to build a resilient body.
You'll learn about:
The difference between the conventional medicine and Functional Medicine approach to disease
Misconceptions about what causes heart disease, the impact of cholesterol in your body, and how to reduce your risk of or treat cardiovascular disease
The Functional Medicine approach to cancer
How to begin balancing hormones
Preserving, supporting, and even strengthening brain function
How you can eat for longevity
Creating habits to keep you young
In this series, I am joined by my colleagues at The UltraWellness Center: Elizabeth Boham, MD, MS, RD, Medical Director and Physician; Todd LePine, MD, Physician; and George Papanicolaou, DO, Physician.

I've new to this real food approach, I've been a nurse since 1979, an am somewhat embarrassed that I had no education in nutritional common sense, so I'm 69 now, so sick, and started watching your videos, omg now my frig and counter is full of organic fruits and veggies, nuts, seeds, spices, all that I learned from you, I just can't thank you enough for your videos, I'm only into this for 8 days, everyday I wake up earlier and have some actual energy and am interested in doing things all day long, where before I was pretty much shut down, just laying down all day, depressed and wondering why, after giving to others as a nurse my whole life that now that I'm older, surely I wouldn't be sick and miserable?? Bless you!

I used to want to live 'til 120, until I saw a person who was 110 years old; my goodness he was like a living mummy, his wrinkles had wrinkles; not only that but this world is so crazy and messed up (political ideals taking over our lives) that living long does not appeal me any more. I just want to be healthy, one day at a time.

Give thanks to the John D. Rockefeller for setting the worlds healthcare foundation, everything is based on using his products and making money, real healthcare was somewhere down the list.... Dr. Hyman and a handful of other doctors are simply incredible
@user-cz7sb1ow5d

Whilst I agree with you on real healthcare being bottom of the list in today’s medical industry, I wouldn’t go as far saying an American Foundation (Rockefeller foundation )is responsible for the world Health care foundation, I hate to burst your bubble but rockfellar foundation has absolutely nothing to do with medical system in Europ,UK or Asia & has never had anything to do with any country/ pharmaceutical outside US. This is a very American perspective - everything good or bad in the world is because of America. It is quite big headed to think that. America s influence bad or good doesn’t extend all over the world. Infact in Europe where I live, American way of doing things has very little influence. I applaud Dr Hayman & find his videos very informative. Majority of what Dr Hayman says however is only new to Western audience, all this has been said before in centuries old India’s medical system Ayurveda. According to Ayurveda, Inflammation is the cause of many diseases including mental decline. This has been said and still is practised by Ayurvedic physicians in India ( Ayurveda s way of treating disease by finding the root cause & asking why is it so & what can be done to prevent & treating the root not the symptoms has always been lightening years ahead of western medical system. Ayurveda which incidentally means Life( Ayur) Lessons(veda) focuses on a Prevention lifestyle which includes Diet, Exercise - Yoga( yes Yoga is Ayurveda, it is part of Ayurvedic medical system), medical treatment including surgery when needed & Meditation ( or any stress relieving activity done 5-15 minutes daily).

The functional approach to health is so thorough and rational. There are a few things I wonder if you would include or comment on in your research: the use of infrared (which assists mitochondria); the negative potential of a high oxalate and/or high lectins diet for at least some people. In the case of oxalates, the negative potential may be particularly high for those who, like me, juice their veges. Thanks to you and all your colleagues. Rosemary

I am just now finding these teachings so I hope I am viewing in correct order. I am a 58 yr old female. I have a gamut of symptoms that I dont feel comfortable telling my doctor because it sounds like I am a hypochondriac -we have been doing blood work to try and narrow down possible issues but after listening to a couple hours of teachings I am convinced I need exercise and supplements as well as cut out ALOT in my diet-and add a lot to my diet. I am a very very poor eater. If I am going to turn a corner, supplements will need to be my main staple. I have a lot of questions but will hold off until I finish listening to the teachings. (If they are all available on KZfaq?) if it was a class I needed to sign up for and pay first, I have missed it all together. 😬

I'm a huge believer in whole health. The problem is the cost of this and insurance doesn't cover it. I found a functional doctor in Nashville and thought he was going to helping me... However, he was more about his supplements, intravenous vitamin and blood therapy services over spending time looking at my initial problem if Chronic Diarrhea that I'm suffering from. Is there are great functional doctor that can dig in without charging 500$ per hour? Plus charging me for test that are over 1,000$ ... Along with programs that run over what a insurance company would charge for standard health care insurance..?

I like & have been helped by a lot of Dr. Hyman's vids. I do get a bit tired of him talking about his millionaire self & how wonderful life is when you can afford all his wiz-bang stuff & his personal supplementals & his trips to the Himalayas & Hawaii & on & on. How about tone it down & give us low life peasants some tips on how to achieve, at least , some benefits that the privileged have access to. There has to be some sort of base version that is affordable to the masses. I wish all the blessings in the world to Dr. Hyman but his message becomes impractical to many, if not most, of us, if we don't have access to what he speaks of.

In my 20s I started getting diagnosed with cervical dysplasia and I learned that it leads to cervical cancer. I started off with mild dysplasia and my doctor said I could just wait and see if my body could clear up on its own....so I waited. After a year, my pap smear was still off. My gyno said I could still afford to wait and see, because I didn't technically have cancer yet. My reply: "are you kidding? I don't want to die before I'm 30! I already gave my body a chance and it's obviously too stupid to do it. I want treatment now, rather than wait until the dysplasia (aka precancerous cells) becomes actual cancer! Treat me now! I'm walking out of the office with an appointment." After trying to convince me again that I could wait, I got stony faced (very serious) and I said "no, I want treatment ASAP. The discussion is over. Treat me or I go elsewhere." I was back in for LEEP surgery less than a month later. (It was already too advanced to be eligible for cryosurgery, which freezes it off. Instead they had to scrape my cervix (and he still wanted to wait!)

I’m 70 and have been diagnosed pre diabetic. I have never been a fan of meat but 2 months ago got pretty good at doing the Keto diet except I only have red meat once a week (I don’t like meat) and fish twice. I do eat cottage cheese though for protein but my BIGGEST problem is this: I love gummy bears and all cereal. I follow the right eating habits for a week and then CRAVE cereal or gummies. Then feel like crap the rest of the day and all night. How do I get enough will power to stop doing this? Any ideas? It’s taken me 5 months just to gradually get the Keto diet somewhat right. I’m doing better but can’t believe my willpower is so bad. Grandkids live with me or I’d not have any of it in my house.

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling. My sweet tooth is unreal too. I was wondering if you do any fasting or how fasting is working out for you? I found that when I work up to a 36 hour fast, it got rid of my cravings when I ate mostly keto afterwards. I don't eat keto all the time, and I do find that if I get too far away from it then I need to do the 36 hour fast again. While I'm working on that, I tend to limit the junk I bring into the house by taking my kids out for individual servings of dessert. I know that can be more expensive, but sometimes just one packet of cookies to share or a candy bar/chocolate each from the grocery store then eat it while out and don't bring it home. I hope you find what works for you xxx

Just choose healthy cereals, you can make them healthier by adding ingredients of your choosing. I. E. Nuts, berries, seeds, high quality dark choc bits, dessicated coconut, cinnamon, nutmeg etc. You can choose high protein cereals and adding nuts/seeds adds protein. Tins of chickpeas/lentils, tofu etc. are high protein without the colon cancer. Mix them with your favourite salad, avocado, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, turmeric and pepper. Or mix with veggies. Cheap, easy, yummy, and super healthy. As for the gummy bears, just make them a treat one day a week. Not a big deal. Otherwise, if you want to quit all altogether, try visualising what absolute crap food like that is, no nutrients just sugar, fake flavours and animal left overs (gelatine). Yes exercise and fasting, not snacking does wonders.
