Me too, Im 67 and always loved detail, I had a life in electronics and loved silicon labs, not that I got the chance to work in one. However in later life I realised I would love to have taken up watch making, had I tried it I would probably be dead from starvation as I cant imagine how one could have survived in those days. So pleased to see the art of watchmaking is gaining such value in our modern world. My eyes are nothing like they used to be so sometimes you just have to accept you missed the boat, but I love to see the young people who caught the next sailing.

@@GODOFLIQUOR dude most of the watch making schools in the US are free. And you can buy a watch Movement cheap on eBay and teach your self to de and reassemble the movement in a day. May I suggest the Seiko 7s26. It goes for $75 on eBay and it’s fairly straight forward, logical and basic. Tools can be found on Amazon for less than $100.

That's what it's called. Watch repair is called watch making, even though they aren't "making" a watch, that's what they call it.

@@cameronwright3465 Not anymore, the industry and therefore schools have been culling the manufacturing of components by the watchmaker for a while now as it's much more cost effective and easier to supply a mass produced component from Switzerland rather than have a watchmaker produce it. That really only happens in restoration of high value timepieces where parts cannot be sourced. 👍source:watchmaker
