Swam out one day, paddled out the next, to explore the ruins of Lochindorb Castle on a partially man made island. It's perhaps most notable, as the Stronghold of Alexander Stewart, The Wolf of Badenoch... from there, he launched brutal attacks on Churches, a Monastery, a Town, and a Cathedral. So much history, I got a bit lost in it.
Strathspey tours: • Tales of the Dava Moor...

Thanks Kerry, I hope I don't drag anyone into the anxieties and insecurities I have about my videos... I never seem to appreciate them as much as other people, always seeing flaws and problems with them. On the whole, I'm not very miserable, but I wouldn't like to drag anyone into any of my negative feelings. Enjoying your video. Discovered your fascinating video when I looked up The Wolf of Badenoch. Last month I was in Scotland (first time) and back home in the Florida trying to keep cool with it being in the 90s here. I am reading a book by Neil Oliver on The History of Scotland to further my education. I managed to pick up 14 books on Scotland on the trip so much to learn about a beautiful part of the world. There are so many places we didn't get to see though. But we were amazed at the places and things we did see like Stirling castle, Dumferline, Blackness castle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Edinburgh castle, Holyrood, Ft William, Scone palace, Inverness, Urquart, Eilean Donan, the Kelpies, Isle of Skye , the Isle of May to see puffins and other nesting birds. Managed to find 78 bird species while in Scotland. Lovely video. Loved seeing the gorse again, the bird feather, the tiny frogs.....When I saw the rain I thought of our hike to the Fairy Pools and how our shoes took 3 days to dry out. haha. It was spectacular though. We did manage to beat the midges which we had heard so much about. Thanks for posting the video. I hope to get back to Scotland soon.

I remember my elderly aunt telling me one of the few things she remembered from Scots History was that the Wolf of Badenoch was forced, after sacking Elgin Catherdral, to do penance at Dunkeld Cathedral “in his shirt and drawers”. This would have been at her Primary School in the 1920s and the class were pretty shocked by their genteel spinster teacher using the word “drawers”. Different days!

I will never make it over to Scotland even though I have lines going back to Robert the Bruce, and a whole bunch of other muckety mucks from centuries ago, and am 40% Scottish, so this is perfect. Your imagination brings the castle to life. And I’m still of the opinion you could be a book narrator, or Nature show narrator. Someone needs to snatch you up as narrator. Your voice is simply amazing.

Many a time have I passed by Lochindorb, over the Dava and on to the A9 heading south to Perth. Thank you for, mainly, pronouncing the local place names accurately!

Thanks Josheph, I'm glad you enjoy the scenery and enjoyed the video. No, the farmhouse visible from my window has a nice couple living there. I think it was just a bit early in the day for them to have the fire lit, it's certainly lit most of the times I look out when there's snow or frost.🙂

Hello Tom, Thank you for taking us on your adventure to Scotland!! I enjoy each of your video's. I would much rather hear you talking, sharing your thoughts as you walk along, it's like being there beside you! There will always be people who don't like us or have anything nice to say... so ignore those few...and if they don't like the video's then they should not watch them.. right?

Thanks Deb, more history than I could fit into one video there... sadly not enough to film to make much more though. I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂

As always Tom your videos are the highlight of my time on KZfaq. I watch a few mud larking ones and always look forward to finding a new one from you, if no new ones I always watch one from before. Your story telling is so soothing and how I love to hear your voice telling us of your adventures. Thanks once again for ending my week on a high note from you. Take care and love from Canada
