Sadie and Korie agree: Social media is hard! It's frustrating! And it's not always fun! But in this episode they're discussing ALL sides of our culture's eagerness to unfollow, deride and condemn. Sadie was just "canceled" twice: Once for photos from LO Conference and the other for when she posted a family pic from Disney World and she has some thoughts! Sadie and Korie discuss the danger of criticism, how Christians can be in the world but not OF the world, how Jesus was "canceled" by both sides and what IS too far when it comes to posting? And is it even possible for believers to "please" both the world and fellow Christians? There's a lot to unpack but ultimately, why do any of us think we truly know someone just because we follow them on social media? One picture + one caption does not ever tell the whole story of that person.

I haven’t commented on your posts before. I have posted on one other reality personality’s blog when she mentioned that she went to Disney and acted like everyone was crazy for their response. Here is my opinion on it. Here is a company that is anti-Christian and puts out material that promotes anti-Christian lifestyles. By supporting them financially, you are enabling them to continue to do this. Indeed, Jesus ate with the sinners, but He did not fund their corruption.

I also think - and I am saying this as one who was a pastor's daughter and a pastor's wife - that Sadie is in a position of leadership where others are looking up to her. For many, going to Disney poses a stumbling block and we are to care about how our actions affect fellow believers.. We are also to be good stewards of our money. We decided long ago that we would never give the money God had blessed us with to companies like Disney that so hate our Savior.

Kori, Ester and Daniel did not have a choice to go into the places they went. They were forced to go there. We have a choice to go to Disneyland. Having said that, I just returned from taking my three beloved grandchildren to Disneyland. We had a wonderful time which was my goal…to give them the magical experience I had as a child long ago when things appeared to be innocent. The majority of our time at Disneyland was wonderful; however, I was for the first time in my life, very aware of the subliminal message Disney was sending my precious grandchildren in an ever so sly way. It GREATLY saddened me and I was most definitely convicted throughout the day (Haunted Mansion being the most severe). Disneyland and its movies are tools of deception disguised to deceive our children and point them AWAY from Jesus Christ. Should we take our children there? The only answer I have is this, the next time I’m tempted to take my grandchildren anywhere, I’ll ask myself, if Jesus were taking care of my grandkids for the day, would He take them there? Your family is an incredible light on the hill for Jesus. Thank you for discussing this topic and causing us all to really think about the choices we make.

I stopped my Netflix subscription after Cuties came out and their apology letter was basically "sorry you're offended." I stopped going to Target after they partnered with a satanic brand to make LGBT clothes for children. As for Disney, they weren't my favorite before anyway, but seeing their woke decisions, how the Disney president says her kids are trans and pansexual, and how they want to introduce more LGBT characters in their films has left a sour taste. What is the common denominator here? Children. Not adults who can properly assess the situation. I don't have kids, but I've found things to spend my time and money on, other than companies who think it's ok to mentally and physically abuse children by normalizing perversion little by little. It's one thing to be in the world and not of it as an adult, but children don't need to viewing things that are purposely targeting them to be confused about who God's created them to be. "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones-those who believe in me-to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea." Let’s put that into context shall we… “‘So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.’ ‘And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭4‬-‭5‬” Sounds like we also need to be humble and welcoming, but we aren’t.

@@birdjay1060 No, I won't be welcoming to anyone who is promoting harm towards kids through mental/sexual confusion or physical abuse through hormone injections and genital mutilation. To me, that's child molestation because they are grooming kids in various ways to grow up thinking sexual deviancies are normal and severely hindering their health and sexual satisfaction in their adult years. Those who purposely steal childhoods away are wicked. I'll pray for those people, but they won't be invited to spend time with my kids.

We have lots of friends who are solid believers who are Disney fans and personally I don’t understand it. I don’t say that they aren’t Christians. Because salvation is not based on works, it is by faith we are saved. The Bible does say that where we spend our money reflects what we value. Giving Disney our money is condoning what they are pushing onto our children and how they are targeting with an evil agenda. Disney is an entertainment park that holds regular pride parades with drag queen dance parties and worse. Protect your children at all costs. Satan wants them like a baby wants candy. Take a stand. Put your spiritual armor on, and clothe your innocent children with the same armor of God every single day. Satan comes in like an angel of light, but in reality, he is the devil of death and darkness. Do not be deceived, even on the most basic level. Time is of the essence. The Lord is coming soon, and we as Christians need to make every moment count in how, and where we spend our time and money. This is not the same world it once was. This is certainly not the same America the Beautiful it once was, and sadly, Disney is not what it once was when we were children.

Yes, it's a good word. Unfortunately, she makes a practice of being of the world. This video is worldly. Her comments are worldly. According to my FB Activity Log, Beliefnet posted an article in March of this year with Sadie giving advice on the Bible, Marriage, and Dating. I was VERY angered by it. Where do these still wet behind the ears, snot-nosed celebrities get off giving advice on anything? ESPECIALLY Dating and Marriage. She's only been married for 3yrs for cryin' out loud! The friggin' ink on the Marriage Certificate hasn't even dried yet. Gimme a break! How about she sit at the feet of a good, godly Titus 2:3-5 woman and then MAYBE in about 20yrs if she's still married then she can come back and give a little advice and counsel on the subject! MAYBE by that time she'll know enough about the Bible to understand that Dating itself is debatable and questionable as to whether a Christian should be engaging in it. I wonder whether she even knows what Betrothal means. I couldn't make it past more than about the first 3min of the video. Another picture perfect epitome of EXACTLY what the state of the Church, churches, Christianity, Bible literacy, and the VAST MAJORITY of self-professing Christians is today. As well as just EXACTLY why all those are having little to no impact on Society and the Culture. While I appreciate and wholeheartedly stand behind Sadie saying "Christians shouldn’t be afraid to “shine their light by preaching about God anywhere, whether in class or at work" the article does cause me some concern. That MUST be balanced with God's Word and what it says,. NO woman should be preaching to and at men in a position of authority over them. And as a YOUNG woman, Sadie should be aware and sensitive to the audience she's preaching to since MANY of them have been a Christian longer than she's been alive!!!! I have seen Sadie show up on here and some other "Christian venues" over the last 5-7yrs. When she first "hit the stage" I was NOT impressed but rather sorely disappointed. Her theology was shallow to say the least and her soteriology/Gospel message, frankly, sucked. It reeked of the Easy-Believism/Seeker-Sensitive "just ask Jesus into your heart" or "just make Jesus part of your life" scatological malarkey. You know, the kind of stuff like you "should invite Jesus into every aspect of their life". "Their life"? Since when does a true Christian have "their life"? NOTE what's missing! "IN CHRIST"!! NOTE that even in this article and perhaps the video she talks about Christ being in her. What about her being in Christ???? It's more fruit from the MAN-centered theology that makes Jesus part of your life,. And, besides that, WHY is an 18-20yo woman being given a platform for feel good pep talks on how to be a Christian? Haven't we seen enough of this Celebrity Christian stuff go south? WHY isn't she sitting at the feet of a good, godly Titus 2:3-5 woman where she is being discipled and learning how to be one? It's one thing, perhaps, if she were a ministry to other people her age and younger on how to share the Gospel and how to be discipled but it's another to stand on a stage with a microphone and preach to hundred and thousands of people you don't even know when you haven't even experienced life yet.

Every major company has some form of corruption if they aren’t already completely corrupt. I agree that it comes down to our heart posture and our actions. At the end of the day, God is the only one who knows our true hearts and intentions behind what we do. So many companies became corrupt over the summer especially in regards to pride month that I kept a list and I noticed at least 20 companies that Christians shouldn’t support but the problem with that is that I only found 3 alternatives. Bottom line is no matter where you shop, eat, buy, or anything you do out in public in the world is always going to have some level of corruption and it’s impossible to boycott every company. I personally doubt that I will go to Disney again, but that doesn't mean I at all condemn Christians that do. I have limited funds and feel very strange about giving a company that hates my values thousands of dollars, yet I love "old school" Disney and part of me wishes that i could take my kids one day (Last time me and my husband went, we didn't have kids yet). People are so polarized the past few years its has brought me to tears several times, especially when people who claim to be Christians go down the throats of others that claim to be Christians. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Thank you for ths conversation because this "christian cancelling other christians" culture has been heavy on my heart this week. I don't understnad how people can say you should not listen to mega church pastors preach, don't listen to praise music because those bands/pastors make money off the word of God and that is not being a Christian. I have a hard time with that because Praise by singing and dancing is all throughout the bible. Practicing yoga is majorly disregarded. My yoga practice taught me to live mindfully and it made me a better person. Which then led me back to my faith in Christ! I now am at my church 2-3 times a week and LOVE that we sing and sometimes dance if the spirit moves you. We are all on our own journey and how we get there is between us and God.

This is a good discussion. I will say this, if I decided I wasn't going to spend money anywhere where sinful things were being promoted and the Word of God was rejected, I would only be able to do business at two places. As for one of the places, I can't live off chicken sandwhiches and waffle fries for all three meals seven days a week. Most corporations aren't pro-Christian and promote something or somethings that are sinful. This world is fallen and messy, but the Bible tells us we as believers are the light of the world. We can still live in this world and not be of the world. My family and I just visited Disney World a month ago. We even had fun too.

I never thought you weren’t a Christian and I certainly wouldn’t cancel / unfollow you. However, we Christians must be different than the world. When you spend your money supporting abortions/alphabet cult/ungodly beliefs, then that becomes an issue. You are free to spend your money as you wish, but it’s not a good look to support it. You preach Jesus in one breath, but support evil with your money. You’re young and may not quite understand, but as a public figure, what you do does matter. It all comes down to conviction, so above everything, pray for wisdom & guidance. God won’t steer us wrong when we ask Him first.

You want to talk about evil, I think people spitting on Jesus and mocking him while he was one the cross was evil, but he still asked for their forgiveness. Our hearts shouldn’t be hardened to those who do not know better. Jesus was openly proclaimed to be the king of the Jews at the time, how could those people mocking him claim they didn’t know better? The same thing could be said for all these things you are claiming to be evil but guess who would still forgive anyone at the end of the day? Jesus.

I love this so much. I also believe that believers have to rely on their own discernment and relationship with God to decide what is right for them and their family. There are many corporations doing some crazy and ungodly things currently but within those businesses are many individuals (both believers and nonbelievers) who will be influenced by Gods light shining in their life. Each individual has their own life and family apart from the business and what a blessing that a believer might meet them where they are & God can use that situation to show Himself in some way. I understand the desire to withhold funds from organizations that are “woke” but I also understand that mother or father trying to make ends meet for their babies at home. Thank you Sadie for having such a raw conversation despite the hate. Your light shines brightly in my life and God uses you often to help teach me and guide me to be a more Godly wife and mother. I agree and see her point however God also says bad company corrupt good character and Jesus didn’t pay thousands to dine with sinners, i believe they invited him freely. I think we have to use wisdom and discernment for each situation and submit our wants and desires to the Lord first to follow his leading even in our entertainment. To me her reason for going was pure it was love for her daughter but even in that if she knew beforehand Disney was corrupt I’d wonder if she ask the lord if this pleased and honored Him first before they decided to pay and go. Jesus says he does nothing in himself but only what he sees his father doing and only says what his Father tell him to say. I think we definitely as the church need to stop judging whether someone’s saved or lost their salvation bc only the father truly knows who are his❤ i would just encourage her as my sister in Christ to ask the father first even in our entertainment. does this honor and please you Jesus and maybe he says yes and therefore she doesn’t have to defend or explain herself but if it causes doubt in our heart and then we go ahead and do it the Bible also calls that sinning. He wants us to live by our convictions.but it is a needed conversation and to that I’m grateful❤ and I will just say let’s say Sadie decided to go for her own fun and didn’t want to ask the lord bc she just wanted to have fun. Then really that’s something that only the lord knows in her heart is going on and the Holy Spirit alone has the power to convict and he will convict and turn us away from whatever is corrupting us and we can be forgiven. This is not an unforgivable sin or a foundational issue . Let’s also not make theologies based on our own opinions of entertainment but if we truly believe a sister is sinning and there’s no way to talk to her in secret then just pray for her heart don’t cast her off as suddenly she doesn’t love God anymore. God is long suffering and gentle and just. Their are also things he hates but he never stops pursuing us to continually follow him for our own good 😊

I can quote every single Disney movie ever made, but I have been very selective in what I let my littles watch. (3 and 6 years old). Because now that I am a mom, I scrutinize the content my littles eyes and ears see and hear. Now-a-days I am sensitive to the times we live and it is so important to fill them with truth over anything. Once they have a biblical worldview I will introduce more Disney. Once they understand magic is different than miracles. Once they understand truth and pretend better, then we will enjoy the disney movies that I liked growing up. This is my personal fight against Disney in my own home. We haven’t decided if we will ever go to Disney world. I wish we could go and forget the dispute of an evil agenda, but there really is a devil who is after children’s innocence. GREAT podcast!!! I couldn’t agree more, and another thing I thought of was for those who are not “supporting” a specific company like Disney, seeing others who do could be “triggering” or be a stumbling block to how their trying to walk, which obviously says more about how they allow things/people to influence them but I think some people could genuinely be surprised and trying to protect themselves, but at the end of the day they still shouldn’t be commenting hateful things to you because of your choice. The power of not saying anything and just scrolling past and not “digging into” who that person is based off something they did really just shows the fruit in their life, and they need to fill their time with productive things and stop being so bored and unproductive that it causes them to sin by judging others 😅

So your extreme is better than what your calling extreme for others? Also unless you live in a hole and make your own food and clothes then you’re probably giving your money to brands that do the same things and you just don’t realize it, you sound very judgmental and that’s not helping anyone get closer to Jesus

I think it’s important to remember not to be critical as a Christian. As Christian’s we are called to hold other Christian’s to high standards, but we first have to judge the log in our eye before we judge the speck in someone else’s. With that being said I think when you go into certain places with knowing who you are and what you believe you don’t have to subject yourself to the “worldly” ideologies. Sadie, I think you are doing amazing, and are setting such a great example to women. Keep doing what you are doing.

Christians, we need to love and support our Christian brothers and sisters, not abandon them. Pray for Sadie and her family. We all make questionable choices at times, but that does not mean we are not saved. Sadie still has a LOT of good things to share with us and God still uses her. Going to Disneyland/world is not a sin. Maybe not the best choice, but she wanted to do something special for her daughter. We got to do that with our kids with no guilt before their WOKE agenda became obvious. Pray for Sadie and her family because God has chosen to use her and that is a difficult road to walk. Support and encourage her. Do not judge her. If she chooses obvious sin then we need to use righteous judgment. Going to Disney is not a sin.

I agree with you that just being there doesn’t mean you condone the beliefs of them. Although I would be very careful going to Disney because hundreds of their employees have been arrested and are being arrested for child trafficking. Just saw 2 Disney employees arrested in Tampa this morning. Also, they incorporate some sick innuendos in the movies. Monsters Inc is one that I remember.

Praying that God will open Christians eyes to the evil in our world. I must say I am very heart broken about what Disney has become and I will not support what they are exposing children to. Sometimes we must make difficult decisions when we put God first in our lives! Some of the comments are much better than mine, but I was sad to hear your comparison to Jesus when He was trying to teach the people the right way.

Those who are criticizing her for supporting evil by going to Disney-you do realize that if all of us knew where all our money was going via our grocery stores, restaurants, clothing stores, etc we wouldn’t be able to do anything. It’s completely about conviction and boycotting doesn’t necessarily have a long term economic impact. Yes, it’s all God’s money, but be careful about telling her she’s wrong or misled. She’s very much correct. She has the Holy Spirit in her and her explanation was beautiful; she’s in the Word. Holy in the heavens and holy in my ❤….love it.

I love listening to you both talk. side-by-side, as mother and daughter. You just both share faith and Jesus so naturally. Korie, you have raised a beautiful and dynamic daughter.. I wish I had her spiritual wisdom when I was her age. You are both bright lights in a dark world. I'm thankful that we share a Holy Spirit who dwells within us as believers. You have both spoken so well about focusing on Jesus residing in you and to please Him and not others. Jesus places you right where you are supposed to be....even at Disney with your family. I love your inspiring family sooooo much. Don't stop being you!!!!!!!

I'm saddened that younger people are having to deal with cancel culture. I'm 70 so it's so foreign to me. The advantage I have is I am not famous. I am not an influencer, nor known. We live in America and people ought to be free to go wherever they want to go and enjoy life without the fear of having their lives destroyed

The difference between Jesus sitting with the sinners and you taking your family to Disney world is that there was a purpose behind why He sat with sinners. It was to bring forth salvation, it was to draw them to to Him, He was doing His fathers work, He was bringing His kingdom forth. He was making a statement before the religious people. That’s different from you simply wanting Honey to see princess and to have quality time with your family. So choosing certain scriptures to justify why there nothing wrong with what you did I feel isn’t right. I would rather you just say I just wanted to take my family there because that’s just what I wanted to do and that’s that but using what Jesus did with the sinners to compare it your scenario in order JUSTIFY that as long as your a Christian and don’t believe in what Disney believe in then it okay is wrong . Two complete different scenarios. At the end of the day it’s not a sin that you went to Disney world. Your not a false teacher your not a witch, your not a fake Christian and it doesn’t mean that you are not a true believer and that you don’t love Him with all of your heart. God knows your heart! but at the same time it wasn’t wise too considering the platform you have. No judgment here at the end of the day I just don’t agree with that example you chose. You have to be careful. I also get there’s a lot of Christian’s who really don’t even serve God whole heartedly but are the same ones casting the first stone at you being religious as they can be . But I also believe that there are some that are sharing this with you out of love (who ever they are lol) that it is a corrupt place and that you shouldn’t take your family there. I personally don’t think you should have taken your family their regardless of if you don’t believe in what they believe in. Be holy is He is holy as much as it depend on you keep away from corruption. I sure you don’t agree with lgbtq right But you wouldn’t show up at a carnival that they were hosting and with drag queens every where just because Honey wanted to get on the Farris wheel and for quality time with family. It’s wise to just say away from it all of your already doing support it. Disney have a way of making everything look so sweet and nice and welcoming in the midst of all the corruption and we as Christian’s say well there no harm in going there as a family. Maybe there’s not, but as a Christian going there says something weather you want to believe it or not. Not about you personally but about how we as Christian’s LOVE push the envelope and say there’s nothing wrong with by justifying it with scripture and we lose the idea of honor to God and his word and holiness in a way.

This is well said. I don't believe in cancel culture and we are not to condemn anyone. I also think people take Matthew 7 out of context. Jesus calls us not to judge each other for the same things we may be partaking in. Now we are to love one another and that means calling out behavior that could be detrimental to themselves or one another, not accepting and agreeing with everything a loved one may do. Praying for them

There is a difference between telling the truth in love & telling the truth in criticism. Unfortunately, some Christians behave more like Pharisees than Jesus. Just because we disagree with her choice doesn't mean that we have the right to condemn.

Thank you so much for having this conversation! This is something I had struggled with for years (i.e. just be my authentic self without thinking “I’m going to be canceled by doing this”). Yes, the world is corrupt but we are to be the light in the world. Also, it’s difficult to actually stand with the idea “I don’t want to place my money here because I don’t agree with what they promote” because corruption is everywhere. If we would just focus on being like Jesus (ex: compassion) and sharing the gospel, then we will be that positive influence the world needs to be moved towards wanting to know who God is.

The Word says in 2 Corinthians 6:17 Come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you”. What communion hath light with darkness? The Word says a little leaven, leaven’s the whole lump. We speak volumes ultimately with where we spend our money….. why choose to publicly and knowingly support such a wicked company and their twisted agendas and ideology? In my naive years, I too, took my children to Disney parks but no longer will I willingly support such businesses.
