Some people are indeed wrong about what tough love even is. My mother claimed that is what she had to do for me is show me tough love but sadly she showed me that there was no love for me at all and apparently it hadn't been since I was small and adorable. Love is definitely not a word. To love someone of any type requires an action. Any fool or trained monkeys can say I love you and be convincing. But to not even allow your own 20 yr old child a sandwhich and to steady try and find out where you are every minute for the soul purpose of being nosey and doing unspeakable things to purposely make your life and your daughters life a living hell... My friends are so blessed their mother's are their very best💯 friends and they make beautiful memories daily. I haven't had a new memory with my mom in close to 30 yrs and the saddest part is would you believe she lives only 4 mins away from where I live and my brother only sibling lives next to our mom and he decided he wanted nothing to do with me after he was married and began a family he literally woke up 1 day and has hated my guts every since and even my parents don't understand why. I guess he learned from the best. My oldest child and only daughter was killed at age 20 in 2014 and my aunt whom was def a mom to me for the 30 yrs her sister wasn't being mom and she passed away a year later my awesome strong daddy passed away in December of 2020 and my grandmother on my mom's side just passed away 4 month's ago at the age of 93 and she was my hero and superwoman🦸‍♀️ no doubt I miss her until my every being just pure hurts she was my world. She loved me no matter what and often said she would have never believed that she raised a daughter who could hate her own children especially children who wanted to be loved. My parents called this tough love. They didn't have a clue that it was hate. You can't just never speak to someone again in life and expect them to believe you love them bcz love is patient and love is kind. It knows no end. And love will win every. Single. Time!

The duty of a mother is to teach moral and spiritual values to her child/children, when they reach maturity is up to them to live those values to the fullest. If they refuse, it's their own fault; the best a mother can do is never protect defects and wrongs of the children or she will raise criminals instead...

Yep, gotta nip it in the bud and teach as things happen, not be gone till dinner or later, need to be around the children when they are under 25 for males & 20 for girls. They have so much to learn as being born in the image.

Psychopaths always put the blame on others. They are really good actors and can convince many folks of their blamelessness. They use guilt as a weapon. Parents usually neglect the other kids in the family as most of their energy goes in covering up and denying the misdeeds of the evil one. The fact is, a psychopath never changes. No one else can take blame for the missing component we call the conscience. A bad seed is a bad seed!!

@@Bigfoottehchipmunk Mere mental illness doesn't? What is "mere mental illness" for you, what's the meaning of that? There's a lot of them, some mental illnesses are very complex because it is possible to have multiple diagnoses at the same time. Some appear in different periods of life, some remain deeply disguised and appear periodically. Some are genetically predisposed, some are acquired either in childhood or later in puberty, or who knows when. @@JuditaHoffman. I wasn't diminishing mental illness. I was saying evil is always involved in such a murder as depicted in this movie. If you want to call actual evil thoughts mental illness, well sure, it certainly isn't mental wellness, and that person needs help, but they are a danger to themselves and society. Brutality and malicious behavior is lawlessness, and it should not be patted on the hand as "mere mental illness".

Prayers for your daughter and grandchildren. Advice from me being that I had a parallel childhood to your granddaughters, the best help you can give is making sure the children's basic needs are met, even if it's from you, if you have faith pray and invite your daughter to church, if there is anyway to do a small intervention to show you care and that her kids need her, even if you don't agree with her life don't ever make the grand kids suffer for that broken relationship if you can, and lastly, when your grandchildren are older be as honest as you can, because they are hurting and suffering through this addiction too, and letting them know that you know and care and try with their mother will mean the world to them, and will let them know they aren't alone with this big nasty "secret". My family just acted like nothing was wrong, just let her be in the bathroom for hours during family outings, not talk about the issue or acknowledge it, just left me to deal with the daily of the addiction and what it did was made a barrier between me and my family, my mother and I eventually started doing drugs together because no one was helping stop it and we had to get clean on our own with no support from family or friends (because they were all druggys) and it was hard and we are so lucky we made it out. My mom and I are very close now, but the rest of the family acts like "well I turned my back on you when you were a kid so I don't owe you anything or have any ties or responsibility to you as a person or family member" and because I was the one that wanted to talk about the issue of the family and they left me alone with it then as a 12yr old and now they always turn their backs on me and I'm the outsider of the family now. When I look back, my favorite childhood memories were at my grandma's, every weekend until I was 8 I would Go the block to her house and spend time with her, making waffles, watching old Christian VHS tapes, making funny home videos, playing Jack's or pick up sticks, and reading a book at night before she would snore the whole neighborhood out 😂 cherish those babies, try to be a tough strong mother because now your fighting for your daughter and your grand babies and its worth it, any time you have the chance to show your daughter what damage she's doing to the family, her own children, do it in a Christianly way, pray for them, and try to occupy her time with good things, fairs for the kids, play tubes at McDonald's, go look at the pets at a pet store, go to a park, try to do whatever you can to pull her out of the funk of that addiction, if she sees the world how it really is again as her babies are playing and smiling and enjoying life she might realize that's a better feeling then any nasty street high. Love and prayers are going up for you and your family, your grand babies, and your daughter. Be strong for them because in the end, when she pulls through, it'll be so worth it!

It's about time that Mother started behaving like a mother. Mothers are more than people who bake their children cakes. Her walking away when her son was in prison and lying and trying to manipulate her was very late in the game but at last the mother grew up and began to expect more and better from her son.

well first thing this writer to this movie forgot is when someone is released on parole they are not to be around another convicted felon so 2 convicted felons living together wouldn't happen because one of their parole officers would find out and they'd both go back to prison

True and why would she help him stay connected to a ex fellon, especially allow him to live inside her house. She acting so stupid and concerned. She should have put him out immediately when he said that they stole his truck. She acting really dumb putting his feelings first.

Parents indeed are tasked to make their children God fearing and good citizens. But they are also exposed to the environment. We guide them to be associated with good people, beyond that, it is their choice but still based on how we taught them to be. Sad story for a famiky😔😔😔 072422
