Sisters don't abandoned sisters. At least I didn't until it was time for me to leave home at 28 since I was tired and getting depressed on so much pressure not from her but from our mother that use our relationship to abuse our generosity to help her financially. Problem is she didn't push her husband to work which made our situation hard to deal with because we were not the parent but the children adults.

Honestly, the reality of this film got me crying all through. Knowing that so many people are locked up behind bars for a crime they didn't commit, knowing that so many families have been shattered because of one person. My heart bleds to know that even at this moment, a thing like this is happening. I wish that this kind of a program could be organized in Africa prisons and in all prisons in general.

Yes unfortunately our justice system and courts are nothing more than a crap shoot in cases like this. If the police were so on to him they should have known she was not his supplier although her dating him could place around him enough to rise suspicion. Still in many cases what happens with the court and the jury/judge there are no guarantees which is stupid, because being guilty is a guarantee of time.

1. Not all foster parents are awful. I have no idea why you feel the need to prejudge them like this. So many are amazing. 2. All foster parents are better for children then criminal parents. 3. If the biological parents were good parents, they would not have chosen to deal drugs, or rob stores, or become prostitutes, and risk going to jail and losing their kids. 4. Yeah, once in a blue moon, someone is locked up for something they didn't do. But it is extemely uncommon. 5. Kids should not be in jails. 6. If people don't want to lose their kids, they shouldn't commit crimes. 7. I think children should be taken away from criminals. Send them to foster homes, where good people can provide for them, until they can be adopted.
@actualwakandangirl7121

@@Julia-nl3gq I never said that “ALL” foster parents are awful, there are many wonderful foster parents who do better than many biological parents out there. I’m talking about the AWFUL ones because I’ve seen them multiple times, only taking in kids for money. Also in this case the woman never committed a crime so idk what your argument is here.

Cheryl Ladd always appears in excellent movies, and this is another one. This is really a heart breaking movies, which really shows that it is not just the prisoners who suffer when they are incarcerated, but also their children and families. I think we need to find a different way to help, rather than punish people who fall into situations, which, a lot of the time are not within their control.

I'd watch ANYTHING with Cheryl in it. I've been in awe of Cheryl's beauty since I was 8 in 1977 when she first appeared in Charlie's Angels. 8 is too young to have stiffy juice, but my very 1st wank was to Cheryl, in 1979. Since then, I've wanked to her close to 11000 times. She was lovely in an early 1980s TV movie where she was a coalminer fighting for equal rights for women. She was great as the wife of a pilot whose plane crashed and she relentlessly pursued the truth behind that crash, in a 1990 TV movie. And then this movie on this video. What a staggeringly cute little blonde she was. Unfortunately, she felt the need for plastic surgery to look younger and her eyes today are lizard-like eyes, nothing like those wide eyes of yesteryears. Why do beautiful women resort to defiling their faces when there is zero need to do so? If Kelly McGillis opted for surgery (either in youth or in old age), that would've been perfectly understandable. But lovely looking women should just age gracefully. Cheryl is now no longer fap material. I fap to Rebecca Ferguson these days.

It also shows how dark and evil the war on drugs is. I have never understood how the claim of a drug dealer who stands to avoid doing time due to the claim has so much credibility that it is enough to ruin somebody else's life in a court of law. How does a desperate drug dealer's testimony have any credibility at all? It makes no sense. There is clearly reasonable doubt in such a situation.

There are many lessons to be learned from this movie: 1) Never trust strangers. 2) Be cautious even with relatives, buddies and acquaintances. 3) Work hard to attain your objective and don’t give up. 4) Children must NOT be castigated for the mistakes of their parents whether these mistakes were delibrate or accidental. 5) Exert your power positively, instead of weeping, sobbing and feeling sorry for yourself, try to do something beneficial.

This is a perfect example of the painful toll it takes on children of Mothers in prison. So tragic. Cheryl Ladd was top notch in this role, she is an amazing actress and brought so much meaning to this movie. Having her sister's help in taking in her children was a blessing, even though it was difficult. Cheryl Ladd and rest of cast were outstanding. Love Angela Bassett in this as well as the lady who opened her eyes to other options that would lead to her release. A well put together movie that fortunately had a happy ending.

Angela Basset tho🔥 This is a movie well worth watching. I personally had never even thought about issues with regards to the children of women in prison. This has opened my eyes about how every one of us can contribute to raising awareness in our respective communities and help such women in any way we can - like supporting programs mentioned in the movie. One never knows what life brings, and Cheryl Ladd’s character was almost Mandela-esque in her fight for justice. Please watch this movie, it’s one of those movies that changes your life and puts things in perspective.💗

I sure do appreciate that we don't have the plea bargain system in Sweden. Accused can get reduction in the scale of sentencing if they cooperate in investigation as to get it right, supporting in retrieving evidence witnesses etc. But they will still get their story scrutinized in a public courtproceeding concerning their own guilt.

@@hana.the.writer5074 Hi, it's a sadness that families don't know the joy of knowing the love of family. I wouldn't have known love if I did it my way. But I read the Manual that teaches what love does and doesn't do. It changed me, though it took time to let go of stinking thinking. My family and I aren't close. Now I care more about them learning about love and see for themselves, their stinking thinking. Learning to forgive is a huge step that promotes love. It frees the bondage you carried. Love isn't emotions, its the choices to love. Love isn't rude or want its own way,it doesn't hold grudges, it sees the best in people and wants the best for them. Love is patient, love forgives, Many of the ways of love are exactly what God's love does. 1 Corinthians 13.

After reading comments, I understand that some viewers may not realize the child-like naivete of this woman who was so trusting. Depending on background, culture, small town where one may have grown up, it is very believable that she was 'conned' by the charming "cute" drug dealer. And holding the money....hard to wrap our heads around that.

Cheryl Ladd is one of Charlie's Angel's cast that I'm fond of watching, she's a great actress. This movie touched my heart & can't help myself to cry. Thanks so much to her sister that been so kind & love so much her kids as if her own kids. I felt glad that she was given a clemency & did her best inside the correctional institution. It's so sad that not all in the prison were committed a crime & many of them were innocent. The government shd act on this, to study harder the cases of everyone convicted. Nice movie & worthy to watch.

This was a great movie, all the actors were really great! I like,watching true stories, l did tear up a few times, this is reality, and it's sad to see anyone in this situation....the fact that this was a true story made it even more real, to me....most of these women were in prison for non violent crimes...lm glad to see that the prison system treats these women with some kind of respect when it came to their children....and giving them hope...

Tragic film, yet so factually accurate regarding the jail/prison time the women serve and the suffering they and their children endure. I know these cases to be true, having worked in the criminal justice system for some time. Her crime was falling for the wrong guy, making it easier for him to dupe her. This could happen to any woman, of any background or ethnicity. That's why I say to all women BE AWARE, STAY ALERT, and check him out. Remember that "from the grace of God go I."

Amazing cast. Incarcerated women, and their kids, are the forgotten ones. Men in prison tend to have girlfriends and wives who support them. Boyfriends and husbands tend to leave the women. And many of the women lose their kids, too. This is an older movie, but the issues are still relevant today.
@Julia-nl3gq

If they didn't want to lose their kids, they shouldn't have commited crimes. In my opinion, children should be immediatly taken away from criminals. They will only mess up their kids. Visiting mommy in jail is no way for a kid to grow up.
