Looking forward to your next episodes, I think Threefold said it best in that the real enemy in GTNH is the pull to start a new world, it’s not about time or commitment but how strongly you can work through your own mistakes.

I'm there with you. 100% I know that feeling. I love restarting and avoiding hitting HV or even getting to the rockets or automating. I stick with what I love and recently I wiped my pc along with my world I made some decent progress cause I was just like. I love restarting, the initial grind the hard start. Running hardcore and watching my lives. I love all of that till I get to the automation side where I just shut down. So what I started doing, and this is from other Ytubers ideas is I started taking pictures of everything. My map, my world and base, to document whats going on, started writing in a journal that I cheated in at the start so I could write my thoughts, and made a checklist of all my goals. Even ones I think I can never reach. Maybe one day it wont seem so impossible. Your taking steps in the right direction and I wish you luck with dealing with something that tbh is hard to break out of. The videos are your documentation, the essays your journal and goals. Maybe make a checklist for yourself and the viewers.

I've been grappling with the same issue with other mod packs for a long time and I realized that if I really mess up with a design I can always just revise/redo it without scrapping everything. There's no horrible consequence to me removing or remaking things that bother me. Letting myself really mess up and make ugly buildings/bad processing lines, then allowing myself to live with it and redesign whatever I didn't like made me improve faster than I ever have before. It's definitely just minecraft lol but I think the same idea of positive risk taking and letting yourself mess up really helps with tons of different things outside games.

So here's what I recommend. I also suffer from indecision, maybe not in the same way, but I still do suffer from it. Here's what I've found to be a really good way of avoiding indecision in minecraft and stuff. Modular base design, a form of base design that allows for further expansion/the fixing of mistakes. I've nearly beaten nomifactory, and I am a base builder, I think it makes the game more fun, and how I've designed my base, it can be expanded any way I really want it to, this fends off indecision cause if I made a mistake in a couple rooms, I can try again. Maybe this isn't an all encompassing solution to your problem, but it most certainly does help me.

Wow I didn't expect such an interesting and introspective video to just pop up in my feed like this This is a fascinating look into a different perspective on taking on a Minecraft Modpack, especially since my favorite thing about modded is overcoming a new roadblock and the satisfaction of figuring something out. I also love looking back on my previous mistakes, I love seeing my previous, stupid inefficient designs that were at the time in my mind the most genius thing I thought of. I found your perspective very fascinating, and hearing your take on the experience of modded, and gaming in general, I love seeing how different people's brains are wired and how they tackle challenges in their own unique way. I never related to someone so much, i have so so many "unfinished" worlds where i just stop playing because "something doesn't feel right". That also goes for some real life things too, unfortunately. I'm glad youtube recommended you to me and i'm looking forward to this!

i'm writing this at 8:00 in the video and 1 am in the morning, and hearing what's being said is like looking into a mirror. i've done the same kind of thing in so many parts of my life. i call it 'going scorched earth'. it extends from something as simple as starting a new minecraft world, or, as you described, moving my base many times in places where i can't just reboot the world. aside from games, though, i've done the same thing with my computer, reinstalling windows when the computer feels heavy and 'tainted'. that specific word moved my mind from idly listening to actually absorbing what was being said. even aside from operating systems, i actually did it a few times with friend groups. those were long times ago, and i'm sorry to those i may have hurt in doing so. in any case, i thank you for putting your experience with this out there. one way time i was somewhat forced out of this was during a playthrough of atm9 with some friends. we all shacked together, so it's not like i could just pick up and move the base when i felt like it. it was nice, actually, having to deal with the long-term consequences of my actions. took effort and time, but it was good. a troublesome foundation didn't spell the end of the world, even if it did have to be repaired from time to time.

how the hell did this relatable thing show up in my reccomended and fit my mentality when it comes to all of modded minecraft in a general sense. I keep moving around from modpack to modpack because i always feel like i could've done certain things better on one but am not fufilled by it and give up and move back to another one. the current thing is hyperfixation and the tendency to overcomplicate simple things.... i feel you there so.... Never have i felt more personally attacked my youtube's recommendation algorithm after watching this video. but at the same time, never have i ever felt so happy to see someone not only recognize this problem but put in place steps to attempt to grow past it. I've felt a somewhat similar kind of decision paralysis when trying to think of how much I should build up for this process or where these group of multis go, which leads to not much change happening in the end. Honestly you just have to expect tearing down major portions of the base through tiers and not worry too much about how your infra is pre iv, as you're still trying to learn the gameplay loop and diff systems that you have to make. You could also just lawnbase after personal dim unlock unless you wanna build a lot, in which case you do need quite a lot of space for expansion later

That was hilarious, and a vaguely uncomfortable look into the mirror at my own issues preventing me from fully enjoying GTNH.

1:02 it would be linear for my twin on Earth but for me, travelling in space at a speed the proportion of the speed of light, its pretty nonlinear.

That thing is called repitition suppresion, thats why you moved your base. But now even that gets desolved in noise and patterns.
