I also go into a deep depression over the only version of Minecraft that is lost media. I have been trying for nearly six years to find this version, and I may have just found something interesting... watch the video for a foreseeable and expected surprise that'll have you laughing mildly at least twice. TrollStore developer here. tipa and ipa are the same file format, however due to how TrollStore works it can give an app 1:1 the same identifier and permissions that it would have if you installed it from the app store. When you sideload an app, you have to change it's identifier and when using a free account the app will also get less permissions, this in practice means that some ipa files need additional code patches to run when sideloaded, because some assumptions of the app break due to the changes of it's environment by the sideloading process.

All of Apple’s operating systems are based on Darwin, including macOS, iOS and tvOS, and all of them support the ipa package format. tvOS does share a lot of code with iOS though, since all of them are architecturally compatible as they’re all technically one single OS with different shells.

Its funny because my family owns this version of minecraft for more than 10 years. I used to play it a lot in the primary school and now its just my sisters that are playing it from time to time to this day on our Apple TV and none of us ever realized that it was considered to be a lost media at one point. Kinda shocking to say the least. Anyway, fantastic video, keep it up!

Actually, appx is a packaging format for UWP. UWP apps are still under the .exe format, just heavily dependent on UWP dependencies and need special user permissions to be ran.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. This video reminded me about my own frustrations with EA mobile Tetris and how phone apps are impossible nearly to preserve. I played that version to death till the day it got shut down and I really miss it. Funny how I can still download it but just get the "this app ded lol" message. Also my frustration with the angry birds series being basically lost having to buy the 3DS copy of it so I can play seasons and rio again just to learn most of it is lost. Fuck companies. The current mobile Tetris is horrible btw.

Wdym angry birds series being lost? Yea they are delisted from the store(well technically not you can reinstall angry birds if you already had it in the library) but just install an apk? For example I can reinstall angry birds classic, space and star wars 2 from the play store's library.

Yep, I used to play iFighter 2: The Pacific 1942, perfect scrolling shooter with satisfying gameplay. One day the company decided to turn it into live service trash, shortened the name to iFighter 2 and added a bunch of bs, it stored all data on cache (which meant I frequently needed to re-download it). I was so happy to find an apk for it, HOWEVER, get this fun fact: *downloading the previous version did not work because it was one of those games that needed their servers to be up for more data.* Why they didn't create a new game for their live service bs and instead tank their reputation with a terrible revamp is beyond me. Can't find the game anymore at the playstore so the company probably just blew up for this terrible decision.

i actually started playing on apple tv with my dad and still have it today, it’s like how you can go back to old versions in java except on bedrock. Pretty cool!
