This is an excellent lens. I use it as the main walk-around lens on my Fuji X-T5 and it holds up well, even on the 40 megapixel sensors, and I have lots of fun with it. Definitely one of the best APS-C zooms out there for the money. The only downside is that the lens is high grade plastic and not really weather sealed, so for harsher environments it would be better to use a weather-sealed lens and more pro-grade lens. For holidays and a nice day away, this is fantastic. For my Sony FX30 I went for the Sony 16-55 f2.8 G. That lens does a bit better for tracking subjects in video, and the lens is more rugged. Thanks for the nice videos!

Is it possible to shoot APSC lenses in full frame mode in RF system?
@btonelliАй бұрын
@@amermeleitor sure but you may find vignetting
@amermeleitorАй бұрын
@@btonelli Wow!! Great news! I thought Canon would force APSC mode! A great advantage from Sony until now is that you can use APSC lenses in full frame mode, then crop in post for stabilization in video or for composing in photo. After crop the vignette is not an issue. And there are APSC lenses that covers full frame sensor without any problem, like the Sigma 10-18mm in 12mm set. There are some chinese APSC primes that cover full frame too (in Sony)

I currently use an R7 with a Canon 17-55 2.8 with an adapter for R mount, what are the differences between these lenses? Is it worth the change? The weight difference is very noticeable, but is the quality worth it?
@btonelliАй бұрын
@@mariaalbi1886 the AF will prob be better in the Sigma. No IS on the Sigma but you have it in the camera.
@zegzbrutalАй бұрын
The IS on EF-S 17-55 is the old gen 2~3 stops of compensation, R7's IBIS is 5 stops, that's quite a difference
@leemarkowitz470921 күн бұрын
@@zegzbrutalBut you have the IBIS PLUS the IS with the old lens.
@zegzbrutal21 күн бұрын
@@leemarkowitz4709 No, it doesn't work like that. For IS equipped EF lenses, when adapted, the pitch and yaw axis of the IBIS is disabled. And that relies on the weaker lens IS, which is 2 stops at best. Overall result will be worse than this Sigma+IBIS setup

I'm not keen on the omission of Optical Image Stabilization as the majority of Canon's APS-C RF bodies do not have IBIS. Otherwise, it looks like a very good alternative to the optically unimpressive RF-S 18-45mm lens.

No primes below 100 with this fast of aperture have OIS inside. 50 doesn’t 85 doesn’t etc.
@leemarkowitz470921 күн бұрын
@@btonelliPrimes? My rf 24 1.8 has IS. Don’t the 35 and 85 also? I’d get this lens for the R7, but not the other crop sensor Canons unless I was mainly doing low light action photography. It’s nice to see more options though.
