I did the same thing, I did what was required to remove the barrier but could not figure out why it wasn't working. I did figure it out after a little bit.

Same I did it on my first playthrough but recently was doing another one with the tank gun, I was jumping around the room when I noticed a weird looking pickup, thought it was a secret fusion coil

the thruster causes you to stay in crouch mode, which can be fixed but i kinda forgot how. drop wall doesnt work though

Regarding LASO runs (or anything with Bandanna on): With the cloaking upgrade for the thruster pack + tank gun, areas like that gondola ride through that Sentinel tunnel became relatively simple. Permanent crouch + invisibility was also invaluable for doing quick shots from cover, as well as slowly sneaking through rooms in a controlled manner.

Yeah I'm with you on that. I almost shed a tear remembering how I discovered how to quick pull the Pelican back out of the death snares you'd get trying to fly it across the open maws between islands. I have to say, it's very fragile too lol. I literally got into a head on collision with a Phantom and blew up, plus small arms fire can make it go bye bye in a hurry if sustained for a minute. Hopefully the rumors turn out to be true of flyable versions in forge. Hopefully finished versions at that. 343 really needs to update the Pelican's physics model so it doesn't fly so stiff like a Hornet. Rejected Shotgun did it no problem.

@@thorne3996 those "death snares" are because the game doesn't recognize the Pelican as a proper flying vehicle like the banshee and wasp. When moving too far with no land at all below you, whether its using the grapple or launching a warthog, you'll hit a soft barrier that forces you downward and automatically kills you after a few seconds. That automatic barrier for going too far off land is completely disabled when in a banshee/wasp but the second you exit the vehicle they'll reactivate. Which is why if you jump out of an air vehicle and try to swing towards land the game stops you from reaching it by canceling the grapple, you moved too far a distance without solid geometry underneath you and thus you must die so no unintended exploration can be had. If you hit that soft barrier after becoming invincible from the Dig Site you'll notice that the second the game is supposed to automatically kill you the barriers completely deactivate allowing you to fly your Pelican anywhere you want, however they'd reactivate the second you pass over even an inch of solid land causing you to get stuck in that shit again for a few seconds And the reason it feels so fragile is because the Pelican doesn't regenerate any health whatsoever so every single shot landed no matter how small does permanent damage. Which adds up pretty quickly Trust me, I have 70 days of gametime in Infinite and almost all of that was spent in Campaign and a lot of it in a Pelican while invincible

Lol well every bit of that makes perfect sense and I vaguely wondered if it was because of that barrier that the Pelican does that. Question, are you a modder? I've heard not too many people currently mod Infinite, but that there are a devoted few. That explains a lot about the Pelican's damage characteristics too. I suppose it's easy to underestimate how much health regeneration other vehicles get. Very eye opening. I'm curious though when it comes to some of the crazy trick montages, like the Warthog launching allllll the way across the open world? I surmised it was because there was enough force to punch through the barriers and maybe has something to do with hitching a ride with the grappleshot too. I see so many vehicles get launched from explosions though that sit there in the sky frozen until you get close to them and then they continue moving.

@@thorne3996 lol sadly no I'm not a modder, just an Xbox player with no life and very observant. I have a few modder friends who mess around on MCC which help me understand how certain things such as scripts and vehicles work. I've seen a few trick jump videos, though not a lot, but I theories its because they managed to find specific spots between the islands that aren't far enough apart to trigger the death barrier, thar or they managed to find the exact spots between islands where there happens to be solid map geometry directly below you which makes the game think you're still above land. Grappling over areas that have parts of the unfinished ring pillars down below the death barrier will still reset the soft barrier as long as its still solid land so thought you can't walk on it without dying it'll still help But no the sad reality is that barrier will flat out stop any and all momentum you have regardless of speed and begin automatically forcing you downward at supersonic speed. Likely to try to make you hit the death barrier before the timer ticks down and the barrier auto kills you in mid air. To my knowledge there's no way to truly "break through" that barrier, itll only deactivate after the timer runs out where the game is supposed to automatically kill you on the spot. The vehicles freezing is a result of the load zones. This game doesn't actually have every area of the world loaded and physically textured out at all times. The engine likely couldn't handle that. So what the game does is it has a large area of geometry around the player loaded and anything beyond a certain distance is just textures for show and aren't physically there yet as it's too far away. So when something goes flying off like that it'll get thrown past the physical loaded geometry and get stuck in this sort of load zone where it freezes until you move close enough to load in the area

the elites and that room have a skull in it, you have to do some weird power seed moving in that room with the bridge and 2 doors with no direct path to the main path.

Definitely cuz the actual plasma turret kills a lot faster than this thing and he's playing on easy. Also the fact that there isn't a proper reticle for the shade gun. However I'm pretty sure that the no grenades and crouch thing are side effects of 343 never giving players proper "weaponless" animations like in Halo 3 and sort of Reach. In Bungie's games the default animation a Spartan spawns in when not holding a weapon was the sword animation (which for some reason glitched out in Reach when you crouched of rode passenger in vehicles) but from Halo 4 onward whenever a player Spartan spawns or doesn't have a weapon they remain frozen in the rifle animation with no visible model movement of any kind. This is why in theater, Spartans in multiplayer always spawn in that default rifle animation regardless of the weapon they actually spawn with, cuz in Halo 3 and Reach the first frame a Spartan spawned showed them in the sword animation Summary: 343 does know how to give players proper animations to use when being unarmed

@@somehaloguy9372 What about the weaponless animations for when you spawn in the shooting range? Likely has no grenade throw or equipment animations, but it certainly has a crouch and melee.

@@commanderblargh6300 apparently from what I've heard thats quite literally you holding an invisible oddball type weapon that doesn't have a physical model. Which is why you don't automatically pick up a weapon you walk over and have to manually pick it up. Thats why your shadow is literally just in the ball holding animation

They're definitely kick you down a notch, the upside about the turret is the projectiles have real good aim assist

@@angerypotato7430 all elites in Infinite are based off the Reach armor. At least for everything above the base blue minor, even down to the shoulders each rank has is accurate to how it was shaped in Reach

They were an elite strike force sent to retrieve a weapons prototype. If 343 patches it out, they didn't, it just went to ONI for analysis

LASO is still not that bad without them, most brutes have rockets anyways and many elites have swords so I just use both of those weapons.

@@PinkSpaceDinosaur Never played Laso yet, don't have all the skulls yet nor have I completed it on Normal yet but those Rocket Brutes and Sword Elites would kill me more than anything else even with immense planning before hand.

@@inductivegrunt94 With bandanna you get unlimited equipment uses with no recharge so if you just grapple really high up and rocket spam most sections are pretty easy. Pair that with swords for Black Eye and it's relatively easy

@@inductivegrunt94 The bandanna is VERY hard to get if you aren't careful, if you aren't a "gamer" I recommend easy difficulty During the last mission, DO NOT KILL ANY SENTINELS, they will only be in one room, it's a big wide open area, and there is an Ultra Elite (Yes, heatwave, energy sword, hiding like a coward when low on hp), a shielded brute, an elite minor, and two more elite majors (red tough ones) all in that same room, and it's over a void with a crowded bridge, and you have to make sure none of the enemies accidentally kill the sentinels, including the sentinels Then after, a WHILE later in the mission, you'll see a few small hardlight bridges, there is a door STRAIGHT ahead, go there, if it's gray and closed you failed, restart the ENTIRE mission again And no it's not bottomless clip, only infinite ammo, so you have to reload, also the weapons are seemingly different technically? I tried to use IRTV to modify a gun because I was bored while using the bandanna skull and it didn't work

The major downside is the aim is centered in the body, making it very unreliable to aim. Kidd's aim was impressive with how janky the turret is!

I wish I could replay the mission to confirm, but in my playthrough I could have sworn that these elites confronted me in a later room in the mission after they "run away". I may just be misremembering though.

They are in a similar/identical room to the one where you unlock a skull after fighting a number of invisible elites, so I thought they were related to the skull.
