Union Berlin had an incredible 2022/23 Bundesliga season and on a summer transfer update for Football Manager 2023, we are taking over as they embark on their first-ever Champions League season! To add to the challenge we're limiting ourselves to 1 non-German signing per season with the end goal being to bring the Bundesliga trophy to the German capital!

As a German I would suggest "the rise of the capital" as a series name. It is known as the mission or so, that Hertha Berlin wanted to succeed in german football and with their relegation Union Berlin could take this over and show Hertha, who the real big city club is

A lot of Hertha fans are going to be upset about your transfer business 😬😂 In addition to 3 lads you signed directly from them, you also signed Plattenhardt who was Hertha's captain this season as the club were relegated. Ps: Schalke were also relegated, rather than missing out on promotion. As a couple of English guys based in Berlin we'll be watching this new series keenly!

Two quick ones: Schalke actually got relegated this year from the Bundesliga. The always barely promoted team is Hamburg. Ouedraogo can develop into an absolute beast if given play time. Him and Scott always my first two scoutings. Please give him playing time. You won’t regret it!

That kid you've got on loan is an absolute beast this year. In my save he's starting striker for AC Milan, worth about £160m. he's had a n average rating of 7.6 for the last 6 seasons

Hey Jack, i played a similar tactic for my all conquering Bristol Rovers. I would change your two wing backs to Full backs. It will give you a better defensive shape and you are passing through the middle anyway so wing back will only be seldom used.

yes! I was kinda critical about the transfers because so many players came over form Hertha and club rivalry is a very very big thing in germany, but the return of the away days made by day. I'm already super pumped

With the "I dont know what rules are" I think it would be really interesting, especially if you are in more of a "non league to legend" save that if your assistants and you are not good enough, that it actually could let you violate league rules when it comes to matchday registration, subs, etc and the club gets docked points for it.
