5 жыл бұрынI got an 'invoice' email telling me that I had paid for a $3800 laptop. No links... just a phone number. It's a real shame that these scammers emailed me because I was able to find out exactly who they were and where the were. Enjoy!
I have had to blur certain portions of his video because of KZfaq's privacy policy (yes, even scammers can lodge a privacy complaint), but if you're a $3+ Patron of mine, you can see the unblurred version on this platform. They rely on gullible people who are REALLY clueless about PCs to allow them access to everything. @@BrownSugar_Coffee they mean that what Jim does is technically illegal. That doesn't make it morally wrong but it is against the law, which means that if Jim wasn't anonymous (Jim Browning is not his real name) he would likely be arrested and face criminal prosecution. Which is very rare for these scammers to face.

@@raeburnoliver6334 I'm not sure how likely it would be; I suspect the same sort of anathema and international bureaucratic red tape that holds back prosecutions of these scumbags would help work a little in his favor too. Plus the scammers would basically end up exposing themselves, or at least drawing extremely unwanted, heavy attention to themselves, to bring charges. It's still wise to remain anonymous of course, for multiple reasons.

@@IstasPumaNevada the complication is that what Jim does is illegal in the UK, meaning he would be prosecuted in his home country, not like the UK or US (and the countless other places these scam centres call) attempting to prosecute a crime that happened outside of their country and jurisdiction with a foreign police force that refuses to help them.

Us real computer techs have a code of honor that we live by, even though we have never sworn to. We are here to help people, so long as we are able. We don't even charge for all the things that we do, if we charge at all. Hell, I had a downstairs neighbor that I had to fix his computer twice. Never charged him once even though I spent about 2 hours total actually doing work and not just waiting for updates to finish, but actively doing stuff.

@@johndorian4078 No, you are confusing actual techs with people that learned about a couple of things or follow a script, maybe even use stuff that was put out there to cause harm made by the few that are trying to mess others up. Once they are unable to go by what limited resources they have, it becomes glaringly obvious, they really have no idea what they are doing, they are just playing a role.

Look as an Indian, whenever you threaten them with police my heart sinks a little bit because these criminals know that most of the police is either corrupt or incompetent when it comes to cybersecurity in India, except for major cities, where the police departments need to be good in this kind of thing, so when you say that you will take matters to the police they aren't worried, but if you have their bank details or aadhar card(identity card) and can use it against them in some way, then it can be a good to mention it, as this will stop them from thinking straight for a moment I still appreciate that you do your best to crack down on them, the guys from this video are from my state, Jammu and Kashmir, keep up the work, when I start earning money, i will donate my money to your channel and a few others, thank you for saving many people, you are a hero

Don't point out their errors to them. I know it's satisfying to point out their scam, but if you let them continue with their errors it's less likely that other people will be scammed when the scammers say something that makes 0 sense. It's better to educate potential victims on what to look out for and how the scams work.

I think even he knew his Japanese attempt had failed long before you had to ask him. Of all the places he could have picked... As for the Californian, it seems a lot of scammers think putting on a stereotypical American accent with a heavy Indian accent is convincing. Its mind boggling. Even with an English accent I know I'm not able to give a convincing attempt at American let alone someone who clearly isn't a native speaker.

I was watching Jim’s video yesterday and suddenly “Europol” called me and told me that my German ID Card is used at some illegal activities. I trolled them for more than 30 Minutes. As soon as I mentioned Jim Browning, they went quiet and hung up directly. What a losers. Jim is a legend.

@@RobertShippey Im pretty sure he can transfer files with "any desk" since the connection goes both ways if u know what you are doing. So with that in mind he can just transfer a rat over to the scammers pc and activate it there to gain full access even when the connection is broken. I've heard some theorys that he gets scammers to dowwnload a rat of his pc but that wouldent work most of the time if the scammer had half a brain but if you transfer/copy/delete files with "any desk" it does not notify the user so the scammer is pretty much oblivious to what is going on which means Jim get pretty much guaranteed full access no matter what happends
