My favorite version. If I could remake the James Cameron version I would add this scene of the captain using the megaphone to yell "abandon ship," and the the whistle sound from the 1953 movie, "Titanic."

@@Thunderchild-gz4gc Because it technically did leave him. He eventually ended up falling off of the ship into the frigid water and nearly drowned until he let go of his webley revolver and following this, he saw the collapsible B lifeboat floating in the water upside down with numerous people grabbing onto it. He swam over to it and then got blasted away from the ship along with that overturned lifeboat by a wave created by one of the funnels falling off of the ship shortly before the Titanic disappeared beneath the dark sea.

Harold Bride the radio operator, played by David McCallum, only died in 1956 two years before the film came out. Also Charles Lightoller, played by Kenneth More, died in 1952 six years before it came out.

The forecastle went under around the time Boat D was lowered away (2:05 am), as evidenced by Quartermaster Olliver's testimony. It seems like you're far too obssesed with the depiction of the 1997 movie, to the point you think it's factual.

It doesn't really matter, it is a very old movie, back then they didn't know it snapped in half before sinking (some survivors reported it but for the rest it was super dark and they had better things to think about than looking at how exactly the ship sinks). And if they made an obvious mistake (sorry, don't know the English names for parts of the ship), it's possible the same way all mistakes in movies are: they had different concepts, filmed them, then kind of merged together in editing process.
@redcardinalist
@redcardinalist 7 ай бұрын
Well duh! The simple answer is because Titanic was sinking by the head and the forward well deck is the FIRST DECK ON THE SHIP so guess what? It's going to be completely flooded before the other decks. This is not rockect science

These are the electricians in the ship's electrical department. They've been trying to keep the power on to the lights but they're hampered by the fact that the ship's boilers ere no longer working and no power is being generated. Gradually the fuses blow and they lose power. It was essential to try and keep the lighting on in the ship for as long as possible. Imagine trying to escape the interior of the ship in the pitch black. Eventually the lighting does go. All these electrical crew died in the ship because they stayed at their posts to try and keep the lighting on for as long as possible.

Probably Not, Captain Smith tried to keep everyone on board calm as possible but at that point in the sinking. Everyone knew without anyone telling them.
@tylergagnon1613
@tylergagnon1613 Жыл бұрын
No. Smith was extremely incompetent both before and during the sinking. Even though the conditions were calm and Icebergs would have been hard to spot, Smith didn’t slow the ship down. Smith was also unclear with his “Women and Children” first order. This would end up leaving hundreds of seats open. Some survivors said he was walking around like he was in some type of trance. The only competent decision he made is when he released the radio operators.

0:11 That is just complete crap. Her bow hasn't even sunk, yet the water is just 'crashing violently' through a First Class Suite? We know those are on C-Deck or B-Deck and the water hasn't even reached C-Deck outside the ship. Absolute rubbish!!!
