ABOUT: 🔻
Babymetal is a Japanese kawaii metal band consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal", Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" and Momoko Okazaki as "Momometal". The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency.
Johnny Franck (born June 8, 1990), also known as Bilmuri, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and producer. He is best known as the former clean vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Attack Attack!. He departed the band in 2010, and formed a new group called The March Ahead. In 2016, he started a new musical project under the name, Bilmuri. Franck has also produced music for artists such as Dave Days and Jarrod Alonge.
Polyphia is a primarily instrumental progressive rock band based in Plano, Texas, formed in 2010. The group consists of guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage, bassist Clay Gober, and drummer Clay Aeschliman. Polyphia's sound is noted for incorporating virtuosic guitar parts with other styles of music.
Electric Callboy is a German electronicore band formed in Castrop-Rauxel in 2010. They take a more relaxed approach to the genre, and are known for their comedic songs, live shows and videos.
METALVERSE, formerly known as "Chibi BABYMETAL" or "Alternate BABYMETAL" by fans, are an idol girl group. They are described as a multiverse project that suddenly "appeared" on the stages of BABYMETAL.

The opening song of the festival was a remix of Megitsune, they also played the regular version of Megitsune both nights. You had reacted to that song previously, but not live. So maybe that's why you did not recognize it.

You are not alone in feeling the magic of BABYMETAL. It was one year ago today (Memorial Day in the U.S.) that I first discovered BM. I wasn't sure if I liked what I heard or not, but I continued to watch vids and reactions, and then I found out they were going to be touring the U.S. Their first show would be in my hometown of Houston, TX. I debated getting tickets, because I was so new to the band, but I thought, "When will I have another opportunity like this?" So I went. It was the most surreal thing, when they came out on stage and I had the thought of "Wow, they really exist, they're real people!" That may sound strange, but I think most people get that feeling when they see a celebrity in real life for the first time. Anyway, part of the magic of BM is forgetting everything else while they perform. On the U.S. tour, they co-headlined with Deathklok, who came on before BM and did an hour set. I was in the pit, so standing room only, and my feet were killing me by the time BM came on. Once they started though, I completely forgot about my feet, and how thirsty I was, and the fact that I needed to use the bathroom. They performed for an hour as well (which felt like only 15 min!), and only after the show did all of that come back to me. BABYMETAL are magic, and I have never experienced anything like them before. Oh, and yes, you are a part of the One. It doesn't matter when you discover them, if you like the music and the performance, you are the One. If you you want some more in depth vids for BM, check out @Andrew Hartley's channel, where he does lyrical analysis of the songs, and then @Omajination's channel, probably the best BM fan channel on YT.

"It was the most surreal thing, when they came out on stage and I had the thought of "Wow, they really exist, they're real people!"" Hahaha, the exact SAME feeling I had! 🤣 It wasn´t so much because they are celebrities, but for me it was always a bit surreal watching their Japan performances, which are like out of this world, unreal in some way. And then they are there, literally a few meters away. Those three young ladies who played an Arena of 55000 people who in turn went nuts about their performances and showed genuine love for the ladies! And the three ladies are real, they perform in reality and they are indeed human! A little bit superhuman, but still human. That was a really weird feeling the first few minutes!

I also attended FOX_FEST on both 5/25 and 5/26. I was very impressed. I enjoyed it very, very much. "Brand New Day" was released in 2019. I almost cried when they collaborated with Polyphia over 5 years. I have been a fan of BABYMETAL for almost 10 years now. They always bring excitement and joy from the stage. With Babymetal there is a unique opportunity to really see them grow up into who they are now. We have so much video of them in the early days when Babymetal was just the Heavy Music Club in Sakura Gakuin (SG) and the girls were only 11 and 12 years old. There are even videos of Su performing before that with her sister. We also have Moa and Yui's audition video to get into SG and their years in SG where they were not only in Babymetal but other groups within SG. Being able to see them grow up over the last 12+ years really endears them to the fans and makes the relationship with the fans so much stronger. Happy to be here for your journey.

🦊 🎉 The guest band for METALVERSE was Asterism. I saw them play in L.A. back in 2019. They're phenomenal, and HAL-CA their guitarist is a force of nature. METALVERSE is back to their original three members. Miko Todaka on vocals, and Kokona Kato and Sakia Kimura as dancers. Like the BABYMETAL members, both Miko and Sakia are former Sakura Gakuin members. Kokona is probably best known from Ciào Girls, another Amuse, Inc. project. The saxophonist playing with BILLMURI was Yucco Miller. She was born in Japan. She's also recorded with the Kari Band, a group that includes a lot of musicians that have been a part of BABYMETAL's Eastern Kami Band. Guitarist Mikio Fujioka (RIP), Bassist BOH, and drummer Yuya Maeta were founding members

You will be having a great time at BabyMetal shows, but the moment the lights dim and they are about to come on the atmosphere goes through the roof, i get goosebumps as they walk on . Su's vocals are something else you may remember fans saying her vocals are even better being their . We all have our favourite girl and all are great performers but their is something different with Su she commands your attention she makes just walking forward between Moa and MoMo look cool 🤣 as you said the feeling you get from them is they are friends, they love what their doing and they love the fans and appreciate that it's the fans loyalty and love that helps along with their hard work gives them the success they have achieved . Nice overview of the festival and glad you enjoyed it. As you saw BabyMetal's fanbase is one of the most diverse in terms of age and gender that there is. One of the benefits of getting older is you can like whatever you want without worrying so much about 'fitting in' which has to be a good thing. I saw a comment once that it was hilarious the way hardened metal fans were feeling so threatened by 3 small Japanese girls. Hope you feel better soon; plenty of fluids and that anime trope rice gruel 😋

I'm turning 70 years old in July 2024 and I discovered Babymetal almost 2 years ago. Being a longtime musician and teacher their music hit me like a bat across my head. Yes, I was stunned like never before. For years I stopped being a big fan of metal. I was born in the 1950s at the beginning of rock and followed it eagerly. But in my later years metal music became stale to. It felt like a dying art form, especially with so many new bands with vocalists who did nothing but growl and scream into the mic. However, the first time I heard Babymetal was because of KZfaq. I found many young Japanese women who were extraordinary drummers of various genres of music and it awakened a new hope in me. Eventually I saw a live video of Babymetal onstage and it blew my mind. Especially with how young they were at the time. What a revelation! Since then I have become a HUGE fan, not only of them, but of many other Japanese female rock (and jazz) groups. But I loved Babymetal so much that, for the 1st time in decades I bought a ticket to see them live during the last show of their 2023 World Tour in Los Angeles! I bought a ticket to be on the floor directly in front of the stage! I had to see them as close as possible. When the finally came onstage after the opening groups it was like seeing the Beatles live for the first time! It was an experience of a lifetime for me. I knew all their songs enough to shout along with everyone else and I jumped and yelled until I thought I might have a heart attack (kidding). I don't know, but it appeared to me that I might have been the oldest fan in the theater. And no one seemed to care. It was pure love throughout the show. I can't describe how devastatingly lovely those girls are. Their skin is flawless! And their constant smiles were captivating. The costumes were outstanding. At a few points during the performance a couple of them caught my eye and smiled at ME! I'm still swooning at the memory. Japanese rock has restored my love for metal music all over again. I watch their videos often and love to watch others react to them for their first time. I can't help but laugh when their eyes bulge and their jaws drop upon watching the girls. I will be a fan forever.

The band with Metalverse (not Multiverse) was Asterism. Asterism is a Japanese trio that plays metal/rock/pop fusion. Asterism has been around almost 10 years and they started when they were 11-12 years old. They were an instrumental band until a few years ago. The lead guitarist, Haruka Noma, has unbelievable talent and started writing songs when she was 11 years old. Tim Henson, one of the lead guitarists for Polyphia is generally seen as one of the main innovators in guitar based music today.

That's awesome! Tysm for sharing this review. Bummer you feeling under the weather and couldn't enjoy the full show properly, but I'm pretty sure you will have plenty of more moments to enjoy a BM live concert healthy and full of energy. I just saw a short recap EC and BM did from the festival and it looks amazing. There's also some usual famcams from experimented og fans who knows how to manage to dodge the security and record either way, sometimes/the majority of times aren't the best shots but at least is something. Metalverse (not multiverse or whatever) is kinda a BM subgroup part of this new metalverse lore they created after returning from the hiatus in 2022 and they performed with BM as mirror group during Doki Doki Morning at BabyMetal Returns TOO - Makuhari Messe 2023 and later performing Karate at BabyMetal Begins TOO - PIA Arena MM 2023, after that they did a series of live concerts and festivals along with BM but with their own set of songs. Last weekend the lead singer Miko Todaka sang a cover of LiSA - Gurenge which is a famous opening of Demon Slayer anime series. SuMetal did the same around her age when singing some Evangelion covers on certain special live shows. The guest backing band were Asterism, i think it's the first time playing together. Bilmuri is the new project of North American singer Jhonny Franck, he was one of the founder member of Attack Attack! which is also another band BM composers and producer got some inspiration when creating BM songs, watch Sticky Sticky and you'll know why. So no wonder they got a connection and were invited to this festival. Polyphia is a super technical instrumental band, after Brand New Day from Metal Galaxy 2019 album was composed KobaMetal thought on the perfect guitarists to make the solo guitar and he contacted Polyphia to make this without hesitation and no second takes or arrangements. They're super profesional when playing live, i always remember a short clip when the drummer got his IEM not working for some reason and one of the roadie went to help him doing the count clapping her legs just to finish the song. And of course Tim Henson is a handsome (lol) goodlooking guy (no home here), I'm pretty sure he got a massive fanbase of girls following, love MoaMetal hugging them at the end of the song ❤ BabyMetal Death is a pun intended play on words with "desu", during early era (and nowadays after MomoMetal becomes the official member) interviews they used to introduce themselves like that, just like they do in the song, remember to watch Legend 1997 (2013) live version and after that PIA Arena MM 2023. And yeah that was F.Hero singing the rap section of PA PA YA! another fun song they got together since Metal Galaxy 2019 album and they love to play in every setlist just as much as Gimme Chocolate!! the MV who went viral and got the highest amount of views on their channel, you already know him from Leave It All Behind collab. And it's pretty sad they didn't play Monochrome, i guess they switched BND (Brand New Day) for Monochrome, but like i said, don't worry, I'm pretty sure you'll get the chance to feel the experience once again. Btw I don't remember if the guide mentioned it but Perfume is also under Amuse and BM is officially their little sisters, not to mention that both got the same dance choreographer Mikiko Mizuno aka MikikoMetal. Fox God bless you and see you next time.🦊🤘🔥

Thank you for your review! I really enjoyed it. BABYMETAL Death is just a play on desu, as the two sound similar when spoken by the Japanese. The song you heard with Momoko was Metalli. One of the best parts of seeing BABYMETAL live is the interaction between the women, especially Suzuka and Moa who have so much history together. The fans in Japan really do make a BABYMETAL performance different than anywhere else; you truly are blessed to have attended. There is so much history between the fans and the band, and the crowd interaction has been refined over a decade. I agree that BABYMETAL casts a spell. In every concert I have been to, it felt like the opening acts either played at 0.5x or 1x speed but when BABYMETAL comes on, it’s at 1.75x. It always over too quickly! As for BABYMETAL being metal, here is quote from Moa that I always show people who say they are not metal: “The people who don’t like metal *really* dislike it, don’t they? The same goes for BABYMETAL. Even in the world of metal, I think there are many metalheads who dislike BABYMETAL. But as a metal band, it’s important to say “I don’t care if they hate on us. We believe in our music, and that’s why we do it!” I love this spirit, and I think that’s the heart of what draws me to metal. I’ve personally listened to a lot of metal, and seen many metal bands live. So I guess what I’d want to ask people is, “Well, what is your idea of metal?” I believe BABYMETAL is metal, so therefore it is metal. To begin with, there are many elements in metal. Some people think metal has to be fast. Others think it’s metal if it relieves stress, others insist it needs screaming, and so on. In other words, ask 100 people, and you will get 100 different responses about what metal is. It would be boring if it only fit one person’s idea of metal. So I’m just going to move forward with the belief that we’re metal. Even if people tell me “BABYMETAL isn’t metal”, I don’t care what they think anymore.” If that is not the spirit of metal, I do know what is. Anyway, this comment became longer than expected. Again, I enjoyed the video and I am glad you had a great time. I am looking forward to the next reaction! Hope you get better soon!

I was very moved by your monochrome reaction. I was hoping to meet you at FOX Festival, but I had given up because I thought it would be impossible to find you among tens of thousands of people, but before entering, I saw you lined up at Gate A. I wanted to meet you and talk to you, but I lost sight of you. I am very happy that you enjoyed the festival. I have not met BABYMETAL for very long, and I often cannot keep up with the choreography of the audience. But it is still fun. When I first saw BABYMETAL on KZfaq, I thought I would regret it if I did not see this band live. BABYMETAL is not something to listen to, but something to watch, or even more, something to experience. I have a regret about this festival. I bought a reserved seat because I was worried about my physical condition. It was a mistake. I enjoyed BABYMETAL and Electronic Call Boy in the pit. But very happy for you and for all the fellow kitsunes who attended. I used to be a metal elitist when I was younger. To the point I ended up listening to the same stuff over and over again until I almost lost any interest in music. I discover BABYMETAL quite late but in the perfect moment for me. My life changed drastically and I'm not going back. The Kami Band solos are the usual "intro" to "Metali!" (the one with Momoko doing that kabuki style interlude) and then they performed "Megitsune" before "RATATATA". Did you suffer from "concert amnesia"? It happened to me for a few days after my first BABYMETAL concert. I couldn't remember almost anything, as if it had all been a dream. See you next time! 🤘🦊

Nice recap and I am glad you enjoyed the whole show. To answer a few questions: The musicians that played with Metalverse is a Japanese band called Asterism. Polyphia (you pronounced it correctly!) is a instrumental band with no singer. And yes, Tim Henson is god looking (I am not gay either xd) but dang can he play. You should check out their songs “GOAT” or “Playing God”. And yes the Babymetal song “Brand new day” was recorded in collaboration with Tim Henson and Scott LePage. The intro song that Babymetal did at the beginning was a “Megitsune” dance version. And yes, the interactions Su, Moa, and Momo have on stage are so adorable and kawaii and shows you how much fun they really have. Oh and I always have the same feeling at Babymetal shows, they somehow pull you in and then they bend time, since I always feel like their show is over in a blink of an eye. 🤘🦊🔥 Edit: I completely forgot the explanation for the “desu” in “Babymetal Death”. It’s a play on words since desu is pronounced very similar to death, so they took that and went with the pun :)

Su, Moa, and Yui were introduced to metal around the same age I was. As many people were. How many are lucky enough to grow up with metal from birth? 10-12 is a respectable age range to discover it. Momoko, I think, was introduced to metal by Babymetal as a teen as she followed them in Sakura Gakuin. Su and Moa have been immersed in the metal world for over half their lives now. We've seen plenty of indications that they actually enjoy the genre, like rocking out to Slipknot from the sound booth at Sick New World this year.

What you said about having blinders on when you're watching Babymetal, like you're looking at them through a lens, is so true for me too. I am a very self conscious guy who is constantly worried about what other people think about me but if I'm at a Babymetal concert, its just me and them. We are the only ones in the arena. I can act like an absolute fool and not care at all if anyone is watching. As soon as the concert is over, I revert back to my old self.

Yes, it was a little bit strange for me to feel this, but I noticed it as soon as they came on at the start. Also, Jeff, take that feeling you have at the concert with you wherever you go and remember, it doesn't matter what people think about you, it's how you think about yourself.

Great review again, So glad you enjoyed it and thanks for including the rest of the line up, someone did have a camera in there as there is already some footage of Ratatata and Brand New Day up on KZfaq but the footage is shaky and poor sound but with them having the drones out from what I could see on that we may well get some proper footage. You are right they do have superpowers, the only other people I've seen who can hold a crowd like Su can are Freddie Mercury or Phil Collins and I saw my first band in 1981 (Motorhead) and among many others I've seen Pink Floyd, Genesis, Queen, Ozzy, Jimi Page and Robert Plant together at Glastonbury in 97, Plant on his own, 2 months ago was the last time, Eric Clapton, AC/DC, Alice Cooper, I could go on but you get the idea and that really is saying something but she really is that good and as for her singing ability, you heard BxMxC, wait till you get to From Dusk till Dawn, a song more people need to react to in my opinion but that's just me. Metalverse were first introduced Last spring, they joined BM on stage for Doki Doki Morning in January last year and the on Karate at the PIA, both as 3 and they were really good, I also liked there first single Crazzy J and the second Naked Princess isn't bad. BM Death is off the 1st album, and the Death is a pun, Death and Des sound the same (Su's word's not mine). Pa Pa Ya is F.Hero. Metali (Are you Ready from Momo) is stunning and featured Tom Morrello. These girls know and have played with everyone. I've also seen some footage of them doing a techno version of Megatsune at Fox Fest with the girls just dancing with fans, looked really good. So glad you enjoyed it, Keep up the good work, go well, cheers. PS. Moa invented the pulling silly faces on stage game, they are just such fun. 🤘🤘🤘🦊🦊🦊

I was at two of their performances both in Vegas. I spent a fortune but so worth it. The first show Babymetal co-headlined with Dethklok was epic!! The best concert i've been to in years. They performed at the beautiful Pearl Theatre at the Palms Resort. 🌴 The auidence there was also pretty diverse. Some guy had his maybe 10 year old daughter. Dresses as Moa in full Battle armor! 🙀💕Which is appropriate as both Moa & Yui weren't much older then that when they debuted lol. Kinda blows the mind when you think about it now. The second time was at The Sick New World Festival this past april. Amazing Festival as everyone from System Of The Down, SlipKnkot & Lamb of God. To Bring me The Horizon which Babymetal made a surprise appearance with later in the night to perform Kingslayer. A highlight of the entire festival as it was totally unannounced. Making it the first official live performance of Kingslayer in North America. I can also attest that Babymetal merch is in high demand & hard to come by. It took me over a year to finally get my Fox Hoodie so i get what your saying here. Cool to hear Fox_Fest was a success. 🤘🦊

Sorry I didn't spot you at FOX_FEST or I would have said hello. I was in the pit for both days and it was a warzone down on the floor; the pits were the wildest ones I've been in Japan. I copped an elbow to the head and a couple of my buddies hit the floor in the pit. The pit is super fun but the view isn't always the best. I fought my way to the front of my block so I had a good view. Bringing metal to a new audience, particularly girls, was part of the reason Babymetal was created. The Babymetal girls love seeing young girls in the audience. When I saw them in Australia, there were while families with kids and parents there. Metalverse are a group made up of former Sakura Gakuin girls. There were five members bit two are doing other things, so they back to three. The band with them are called Asterism, they are all young prodigy musicians. Polyphia are known as purely instrumental maestros. Tim Henson is considered one of the best of his generation. And yes Tim is very pretty. The actor from Queen of the Damned you're thinking of is Stuart Townsend. Electric Callboy was so fun. It was my first time seeing them and it was great. I've never seen a crowd in Japan go as rough as they did for EC. I said the other day that Babymetal live are mesmerizing. Babymetal Death means both "desu"and "death"; it's a play on words. BMD is the opener for all their shows. That was F.Hero in Pa Pa Ya! That was their first collab with him. LIAB was Babymetal returning the favour for Pa Pa Ya! The vocal thing that Su does on the live version is pretty special. It makes the live version way better. The performances of Brand New Day were the first time they have ever played it live with Tim and Scott, so it was pretty special. Momo's Kabuki dance is always great, but when I get low I always struggle to get up again. The three girls are always goofing off in little ways during shows. Perfume are Babymetal's big sisters. Babymetal's choreographer Mikiko does Perfume's choreography too. Everyone who goes regularly to shows in Japan knows the chants and the moves for each song. Babymetal shows are always on the short side; they never play for more than 90 minutes. Their performance is so physically demanding that it would be hard to do much more. Road of Resistance is the regular show closer because it always sends the crowd home on a high. A lot of hardcore Babymetal fans are former skeptics that they won over. I was one as well once, but now I'm a massive fan who annoys my friends and family going on about them. The Babymetal girls didn't know about metal when they started and were a little scared, but they have become fans over time. Su-metal said that seeing Metallica for the first time was the moment she really understood metal. Just recently at Sick New World in Las Vegas, the girls were seen checking out Slipknot's set from the tech area, so they definitely make the most of their place in the metal world. If you see a big clump of gaijin at future shows come say hi. We're all regulars that meet up in Japan for Babymetal.

Thanks for sharing your impressions. Hope you get better soon. The playing with the pronounciation of death / desu goes back to their early days. They also introduce themselves that way in interviews, you can even find compilations of that... When I fist saw Babymetal live as supporting act for Sabaton I only knew a few songs, with four albums out it took me quite some time. Luckily I saw them live again half a year later at their headliner tour. The Babymetal audience was the most diverse I have ever seen. Loved listening to your experience. I discovered Babymetal a little over a year ago. I had frankly gotten bored with rock music in general (although I listened to it occasionally) and was at the time more into experimental electronic music, many of which was Japanese. Then KZfaq recommended Babymetal (Megitsune) and I was hooked. I immediately bought all their albums and last year travelled from Malta to Munichi (yep, Munichi not Munich. Just wanted to give you some more information about Bilmuri, since you said you had never heard of them before Bilmuri started as a solo project of Johnny Franck, the former singer and guitarist of Attack Attack! Over the years, the project has grown from a solo act into a full band, with the core 3 members being Johnny, Reese Maslen (guitar) and Gabi Rose (sax/vocals). It’s also evolved a lot musically, starting out as a pretty raw, stripped-back post-hardcore project, it’s turned into mostly pop-metal but with a ton of other genre influences, like jazz, country, EDM, k-pop, and more. Gabi also has her own band called Enrose and is the touring sax player for the Jonas Brothers. Since she was busy with her own band at the time, they had Yucco Miller, a Japanese saxophonist fill in for her. And your comment about them being very grateful to be playing in Japan couldn’t be more accurate. I’ve met Johnny and Reese a couple times and they are genuinely some of the sweetest, most humble, genuine people ever. You really should check out more of their music, it’s incredible. Much like Babymetal and Electric Callboy, Bilmuri shows that metal can be fun and goofy and doesn’t have to be so grim and serious all the time.

Nice one! Thank you very much for telling us your FOX_FEST experience! I really appretiate it! 😄 Maybe I´m taking away your "specialty" a little bit, but I can tell you: even if you knew beforehand EVERY song BABYMETAL ever made, even if you know several live versions of the same song, even if you have seen a lot of their concerts in Japan on video, even THEN their "voodoo magic" does its work and you feel like it´s a completely new experience, if you attend one of their live concerts. It happened to me that way. I know every single song of them. I know a LOT of their live concerts of earlier and more current times (I can determine most of their concerts just by looking at their costumes, the stage setup or by hearing certain audio details!). And then I went to one of their live concerts. It was my first EVER live concert in my whole life, 21 November 2023 in Cologne. I will never forget it! It was such a blast! SO much fun! Phenomenal! BABYMETAL did this to me, normally I avoid closed rooms with lots of people in it at all cost. Not in this case. I went there all on my own. Because I would see them there with my own eyes, hear them with my own ears. I HAD to go! 😆 And it was a whole different experience, a thousand times more exciting than I imagined it to be. I experienced the strange thing you mentioned, too. The thing that you focus on them and their performance TOTALLY and almost forget about the thousands of people around you or any other problems you might have with the situation. It´s indeed some kind of magic happening there. But a nice one 😉 Regarding the fans loving the ladies... yes, they do. It´s just my thoughts and feeling about this, but I think, that started right from the beginning. Even at the first performances they did (as mere children), they genuinely loved their audience. You can see it in the videos already. The audience felt that and gave that love back to them. It´s a clean kind of love, though. Platonic, if you wish. The audience wouldn´t let them down ever. They did a mistake with the choreography? Doesn´t matter, THE ONE forgives. THE ONE never lets them down. And the three ladies never let THE ONE down! I remember their Moscow concert, Su-Metal was seriously ill there. She gave her all, nonetheless! It was SO impressive. And she did it not because somebody of the management was forcing her to do this. I bet that Kobametal even voted against doing the performance. But she did it nonetheless. She simply didn´t want to let her audience down, because she loves her audience so much! She was struggeling really hard with the situation, but you could see in her face that certain smile... she loves her audience! And in every performance they did in Japan you can see this love going from them to the whole audience and back. Energy, from them to the whole audience and back. Fun. Joy. It´s incredible. I bet you felt that, too! Momometal experienced the same thing at their show back in 2019 at The Forum, Los Angeles, I believe. Watch the "Road of Resistance" performance of that concert. There is one scene where you´ll see a single tear running down her face (there is another shot where it´s just her hair, but the second one is not her hair). She felt it. The audience loved her already, sincerely, and she felt it. I was sure at that point that she would take the third spot one day. Done deal! 😉 They are one of a kind, as is THE ONE. I´ve never seen anything like this before I "met" them (somebody introduced me to them by video). Back in June 2016, the song was "Headbangerrrrr!!!!", the "Legend 1997 Apocalypse Su-Metal Seitan Sei" concert (a really GREAT one!). Fond memories 😉

I think there are a number of reasons Jeff, and many won't even try to read the words, they are too rigid in their thinking. I thought three young girls performing in a metal band were just a gimmick, and I didn't think they would last. I've never been more happy to have been wrong. I am not one to regret, because I cannot change the past, it is a wasted emotion, but I do wonder how much I have missed, by my inability to see their appeal, I'm just happy I can see it now.

Most of their music is instrumental, and all 3 of them are pure prodigies. To answer your question about "desu/death" ... when they learned the word "death" they thought it sounded like "desu" , and so they decided to make a pun/double entendre out of it. And then Metallica took the stage with all their agression and volume, and Su says the whole thing clicked for her...ahw understood that metal music wasn't actually angry or scary, that it was just a way for the audience to burn out stress and energy. I will, but probably after I do some more reactions. I really want to give a raw, original reaction, and I am a bit scared to learn too much, that could take away that.

do you know which Kami band backed them up this time? was it east or west?

It was the Western Kami Band, with Ryan Neff on bass instead of Clint Tustin. The last time the Eastern Kamis appeared with BABYMETAL was at 'BABYMETAL RETURNS - THE OTHER ONE' (January 28th and 29th, 2023).

That is a weird situation: Rock > Metal = Meh Metal is not true Rock music Metal > Nu Metal = Nu Metal is not true Metal Metal > Babymetal = Babymetal is not Metal Sounds for me like "elderly people" say: In the past everything was better than nowadays. The prior generation complaining about the next generation. 😂

It's often the way unfortunately and I was one of them.

It might sound that way, but there are plenty of us older fans that love Babymetal. Granted, I was never a true metalhead even though i loved Black Sabbath and Deep Purple back in the early 1970's. But I also know a few current 20-something guys that would tell you, with a grim and serious look, that only death metal is true metal and clean vocals (especially kawaii voices) don't cut it.

I am very upset. I'm very sorry. Unfortunately... Unfortunately, the KZfaq rating system does not allow you to give you ten thousand million "like"... "Like"!

My theory on Metalverse is that there was a point where Su and Moa were on hiatus and seriously considering calling it a day. I think MV (also called Chibimetal at one point which I like better) was Koba metal's hedge: if Su and Moa decided not to continue, I'm getting Mikio and the rest were slated to take their place. That said Mikio has a very different voice, and the song Crazy J and Naked Princess seems to be a swing/big band metal fusion and I love it. I'd like to see you react to them, Naked Princess has a jaw drop moment from Mikio I think she started defining herself apart from Su.
