Just clarifying since people seemed a bit confused: the Monado Secret Files this passage is in is a Xenoblade 1 artbook that came out soon after the initial Wii release, way before X and 2 were conceptualized. The point behind bringing up the leaders of the translation project not liking XC2 was that any little change made for better sentence structure/flow that references or sounds similar to something from 2 would've been removed because of both that and the book being written before 2, UNLESS it was already in the original Japanese/French, so I have extra reason to believe the translation of the passage is accurate.

I always assumed Alvis simply “moved on” because Shulk wished for a world with no Gods. The God maker left to make that happen.

At the end of the day, all of this was likely subconsciously planned from the get go, if not intentionally on his behalf. Ontos disappearing was probably supposed to happen, let alone it's also a Xenogears reference to the Wave Existence disappearing at the end of Episode 5, as XB1 mirrors quite heavily, and Ontos basically is just a Wave Existence expy in terms of the Xenoblade universe. On another note, if we look at the events of the game more literally, Ontos probably disappeared either because Shulk's wish caused him to vanish (as he is Monad, the true God of the XB1 universe, which conflicts with Shulk's desires of a world without godly interference), or his being is simply tied to the Conduit now, as his power source is said monolith, and he disappeared alongside it as the events of XB1 mirror XB2. The Conduit disappears roughly around the same time, more or less. The two are complementary anyway, as they're both symbolically the power of God in a box. Since the world of XB1 emulates aspects of the Imaginary Number Domain, and XB2 emulates aspects of the Real Number Domain from Xenosaga, I wouldn't actually be surprised if the Conduit, and Ontos were sent to the Upper Domain somewhere.

well well, and now it seems, we May get an answer to the question of what it was, that made Alvis disappear, later this year. Even if this all wasnt exactly plannend this way, it still fascinating, how all of this seems to fit in another. One Reason, why Xenoblade are such Great games.

While I believe Alvis likely just went to explore the world or something instead of being removed from the universe, he definetly was likely powered down by the Conduit's dissapearance, just like Pyra and Mythra were very likely reduced to just really strong Blades. I like the idea that if both groups are gonna be fighting a new big threat, they're actually facing it with what they currently have, almost like how in Xenoblade X no one actually has some god-tier whatever(though have they really faced an actual god-tier threat?) Even then, the XC 1 and 2 crew, while they no longer have god-tier stuff, they still have preety strong stuff going for them, Brigid and Pandoria already were rivaling Mythra and now Mythra can't just Siren stuff, and Shulk's Replica Monado, while it definetly isn't a world-bending weapon, it's still preety strong and actually managed to make the Fog King beatable, so who actually knows?

Man the fate of the universe depending on a copyright dispute in another, higher universe, is a kinda crazy thing to wrap one's head around. And heck, regarding the xenogears, for all we know that thing may still work and fly around and stuff but for all we know its also stuck in a case of being dragged down to a lower power level too.

I helped with the translation project, and the way it worked is since the book released in French as well as Japanese, most people translated it from French to English because more ppl know french well than Japanese. Looking at the French version the English Translation is perfect, but who knows how well the French translators translated the original Japanese one. We did find some issues with the french translation of the Japanese original so there is a slight chance it is bad but that can easily be checked by someone.

This video has aged insanely well. The only thing that could make it better would be if Founder Vandham's slain grandfather is actually just straight up Fei.

my idea is that when alvis recreated the universe, he activated the conduit one more time and sent everyone alongside the remains of the bionis to another world, maybe even xb2's world what with evidence from FC. the recreation process of the xb1 universe looks very similar to when klaus activated the conduit (the world being engulfed in a bright light before shrinking and immediately exploding into even brighter light across space), and would explain why alvis would be nowhere to be found, as he could've just been taken to a different universe than shulk and everyone else on the bionis

I certainly wouldn't mind another game following the original cast. Just as long as it's localized by the original company and not the people who think all Nopon say is "meh"...

by the end of XC1 i was completely aware that Alvis was actually the Monado, he was the Aegis Blade of the XC1 world. He is a machine, an artificial inteligence that was the Tool aka the "blade" used by the scientist to create the world. In XC2 the Aegis Blades was smilar they ownd the sorce code of all living beings.

Shulk wished on his Monado for a world without gods. Alvis is clearly the closest thing to a god being the Monado itself, so he had to disappear to honor the wish Shulk made. The difference between Alvis and Pneuma and Malos is that Alvis is the administrator of the supercomputer while Pneuma and Malos are supporting functions of the supercomputer. Alvis is clearly stronger than the other two as far as overall power and influence goes over the world.

Next Xenoblade game is going to be a tragedy. I'm calling it now, it's going to show the fall of Shulk's new world and everyone dies which later becomes Mira. They lose to ghosts that are shown at the start of X and then the sequel to X will lead us to defeat the ghosts.

I'm going to put a theory out, a Chaos theory if you will! After completing definitive addition recently I pondered the meaning of the end, two things started to become apparent, 1, Neither Zanza and Meyneth were actual God's, as they still required hosts to exist in some physical form. This implied that as powerful as they were they were at least on some level parasitic and not truly ascended! 2, I do not believe Zanza created a new whole universe, but rather a bubble universe, and at the end Shulk did not crate a third universe, but instead released the one they were in! Symbolized in the shattering of the Dome, and in fact this pocket universe was in fact a closed system, and in some fields of physics a close system in theory can be use to predict the unpredictable, in Xenoblade this is the visions Shulk experiences. This would imply he neither created a new universe nor allow the old one to persist but rather shows a third option by releasing it into the greater universe, break-in the closed system and eliminating anyone's ability to see the future... This could also be the reason why extraterrestrials can now seemingly invade there home, as a closed system prevents the transfer of matter from the outside to the inside and vice versa, however if the close system is broken, well so is the barrier preventing any intrusion ie the Fog King!!! Anyway, it's just a little theory I have, so I share it here, hope you enjoy.

What tells me that Shulk is still God like is actually FC, he still have Monado arts, at least most of the ones he knew how to control, remember that the Monado Arts are the power to control the Ether, the building block of all things (and as I said before, this is based on the theory of Gods Particle theory, the trully smallest particle only God can control and is the building black of all creation), so I think having once become a God does not mean you can simply quick being a God, he doesnt have acces to the full power of te Monado and the Conduit anymore, but still has quite a bit of it in him, and I believe a part of Alvis still exist in him, tough not compleatly also, how is this for a possible story in a theorical XC3 that takes place in the future of XC1 you have new cast, of course, but in a similar way you are presented to Dickson, you meet Shulk, with a similar role, quite a bit older but not much, looking 2o something years old, he talks of his friends and is respected as a hero but he himself doesnt relly like that treatment, of course we dont see any other from XC1 yet, plot happens and the connection with the High Entia is lost, you and your party are selected to find what happened and of course, while not a party memeber in most cases, Shulk helps you quite a bit here and there, at the point where the party is in the normal path to Alcamoth they find the enemy has a base dividing them and now reaching this path is impossible without taking it out, but its out of anyones possiblity at the moment, the enemy is a bit to unkown in qualities and capasities and a dual front effor is needed, but no other way to reach Alacmoth is known, then of course, Shulk knowns 1 more, a secret passage that extreamly few people know of since it was ment for evacuation and is actually in an extreamly dangerous part no one really goes, but if you know the path to take it is quite safe, you advace and Shulk says he is going to make sure no one follows you and also give them some hell to keep them ocupied, that he is not going to go too over board and will do so in moderation, you reach the other end and see Alcamoth is quite ok but in constant attacks from the enemy, better than the Homs at least, when you reach Alcamoth they are surprised to see homs but also questions if you are really an ally concidering the path you took than once again, is not known, things happen and you are taken to an audience with the queen, masked, there you explain the route you took and that Shulk told you about it, at that mention the queen stands up and takes the mask of, its Melia, but she looks conciderably older, in her 40s to 50s, there is more to the story but now you see what I wanted to give, they found out that while Shulk no longer had the powers of a God he obtained for a moment, obtaining them changed his body and does have some power still, they believe he is still mortal since he does grow older, but the rate he grows is actually slower in an odd way in that he remains unchanged phisically for many years, like time itslef is moving at an extreamly slow pase in him, he mentions that initially it took 10 years for the first change in his age to show, but it became slower each time, now its been almost a 100 years since he last showed a true sign of aging, they currently think his life span is between a pure High Entia or a Machina but wouldnt be surprised if its actually longer at the current pase is going, also he decided to not take center stage after a while, since it wasnt normal for him to still be alive and he didnt want to live this long, but can accept that its an unfortunate side effect of once having become a God, so now he only travels between the races and keeps his help a minimun amount in the way a mortal would do or be able too, but he cant keep his researcher part aside, he does still develop many new technologies, most of the new known one are actually his handiwork, but never does them alone, and has only trully acted to his capasities recently cause of the enemy, he does explain that he doesnt know what they are, that anything he talked before is all he trully understood from them, and does say that he feels there is something pulling the string, not evidence but a gut feeling, to wich Melia says she feels the same, so they will keep an eye open for the mastermind and if possible deal with it, in my story its not that they didnt, couldnt or were defeated, the mastermind was dangeraous, but what he released was more dangerous, so Shulk Melia and 1 more, I want to say Vanea stay to fight it as your group goes for the mastermind (this thing is of course a post game superboss), and of course they do defeat it as you go out from defeating the last boss

Maybe Alvis made a backup of himself, travel to another dimension and become the wave existence then got captured and pulled back to power up the monolith "Zohar" in a timeline without GODS and now he is a super computer that powers a gigantic artifact.

I still think alvis is Mira ( the planete of XenoX ) , as he had the directive of creating a planet where all race would live in harmony and Mira is literarily forcing races to live together . We see that in the cutscene before the fog king fight happens , a huge ass flying telethia goes in the portal ... and this is pretty much Telethia the Endbringer . Maybe alvis created those fog portals in order to get those telethias for himself ? so he could have a tool to help the inteligent races of Mira , like he did in Xeno X to save the team from the infecteds. And i think it's alvis we see at the end going to Lao .

Instead of idling in the discord, you could have just asked for clarification on how the word "Absconder" was derived. That word implies Alvis had options, that he chose to go away, which also would explain Pneuma being left after XC2. Just ask, is the use of absconder transliteral or translated.

If the Conduit has a WE in it like the Zohar did then maybe when it disappeared back to where it came, Alvis went the Karellen route and left with it to "Walk with god". Though probably not because Alvis himself is Xenoblade's version of the WE connected to the Conduit/Zohar. Maybe the universes merging back together in 3 could have potentially caused Alvis and the Conduit harm so they willfully took refuge somewhere or in other words absconded.

I swear seeing pneuma in a cutscene is polarizing seeing how her actual form (as in not pyra or mythra; her true original form) has only 25 minutes of screen time in the entire story if that.

They could still bring back the mechons and faces to help defend new colony 9. And I've always wandered, we see the remains of bionis are still there, but is the mechonis corps still around as well ? And if so, considering it's a giant mech, that eghil managed to rebuild its entire left arm and force the dam thing to move without ever needing meinath, does this mean they could rebuild the mechonis and make him move like a giant face ???? I would love to hear your thoughts on this ;)

you have to remember alvis form is not his true form its just the one he chose which means if he left he could appear in another universe in a completetly different form. at the end of blade we see that he abandons his body and basically looks like the wave existence from gears. i have a sneaking suspicion that he wont appear in 3 because he is likely on mira and is the likely cause of why mira has otherworldly powers

Technically Pnuema is still possible since she was more the combination of both Mythra and Pyra though I don't think she would have the same creation power as before but still able to do anything that any other blade can do with light speed and all that. Most likely they will make it so which ever cast or all off them have to create and understand the path forward and create new powers to counter such a superior existence which might be born through other unexplained plot points.
