Good call on that bass tone being very Tool adjacent! As a pianist, I think Judson would find APC's recent song Disillusioned an interesting listen. The piano isn't a main element throughout the song, but where it used is quite intimate and beautiful.

this song was first interpreted by me as a song of unrequited love, and in '03 I quit a 3 year xanax addiction cold turkey and realized the real meaning during my weeks long struggle with sobriety. Someone feed the monkey while I Dig in search of China White as Dracula as I approach the bottom.....pure genius

It is so spot on from Judson about "floating space" etc. A Perfect Circle and this album.. It always been so atmospheric saturated for me, since mid 2000s around '05-06 when I heard them for a first time with this song. And I still love this track. Another their work which stuck into my mind for all these years is "Annihilation". Whole minimalistic atmosphere of "Annihilation" is incredible. P.s. Also it was surprising for me but I totally agree with Judson about LP, hehe. But A Perfect Circle for always perfect for me. And Tool with A Perfect Circle always had such similar vibes for me, in terms of harmonics and saturation structure, atmosphere.

This album is INCREDIBLE! I would suggest branching out to the album Mer de Noms (the one where 3 libras is from) and doing maybe "The Hollow" or "Judith" to start it off. This band is just absolutely incredible...can't explain it any other way. (13th step has many more that you should check out as well, not saying that you should stop here haha. so many amazing songs on there!)

Hits home. I never gave this song a twist. I took it at face value even in addiction. I think one critic tried to lambast APC and called them a good 80’s rock band or something and they took it as a compliment. Spot me bro! One of the Linkin Park front men did some hip hop stuff that was original.

That really means a lot. Thank you. I love the dynamic of this music reaction channel. It’s the duality between you two that makes this far too entertaining to me. It’s unfortunate though for us musically inclined individuals trying to create any kind of music related content here cuz of how ridiculously hard they came down on music regarding copyright issues and stuff. I’ve actually been playing guitar for 25 years and I play drums and bass and do my own vocals as well, metalcore style singing/screaming. I majored in Performance Classical Guitar in college so I have that style as well. Many have said I do the only correct covers of dozens and dozens of songs on KZfaq. Like The Outsider. Check out my cover of that if you feel so inclined. I think it’s the one on my main page. But I think I might contact you once I re-evaluate where I’m at cuz what I’m doing clearly isn’t working and well…maybe I’ll hit you up to figure out which direction to start heading in or you being successfully rehabilitated, might have the knowledge to help let me know what would work and what definitely wouldn’t. Congratulations on your sobriety. I know how hard it can be (I was clean for a short stretch). I’m very thankful for your response.

@ZolFox Sundown M Ranch in Washington state is one of the top treatment centers in the country. I've been struggling with a Heroin addiction and went there recently and it helped alot. I'm currently doing the Vivitrol shot you do once a month and it really helps curb the cravings and it also blocks the dopamine receptors so if you do use again you don't get that high feeling and it helps you stop thinking about the drug breaking the cycle of fixating on getting high.
@Greatmeasures
@Greatmeasures Ай бұрын
@@sirshmiggins2786 I’m a supporter of Vivitrol, especially in early recovery. I hope your journey is going well so far. I’m not familiar with that specific treatment center, but I’m going to look into it. I work for what I believe is the best treatment center in the state of Mississippi. We have people from all over the country come here for help and I sometimes get asked to help out with options for aftercare if people are going back to other states once they complete our program.
@ZolFox
@ZolFox Ай бұрын
@@Greatmeasuresoh I have a friend who I think went to that very treatment center. Like I mentioned, methadone ➜ suboxone did work for me about 12 years ago, after using for about 2 years which I attribute to a coping mechanism that began almost immediately after my first fiancé unalived themselves by hanging and I just came home and found them like that plus the additional trauma of being detained and interrogated for 10 hours because of “suspicious circumstances” like positioning and “inconsistencies in the observed scene and my recount of the event” and the lack of any note or any kind of indication of intention and I probably didn’t do myself any favors by flexing my eloquence, having a tendency to speak in hypotheticals and my frustration leading me to intentional be condescending to a bunch of, what was eventually investigated and proven to be, corrupt cops who were trying to influence me to admit I did something I didn’t because the repercussions of such were far less severe than if I attempted to prove innocence and failing, which was incredibly fucked up. Anyway like I said it worked for me and I was clean for about 5 years…until my current fiancé almost died in a car accident and was in the hospital for several months…like it was so bad when I first saw him, the skin on half of his face was separated from the skull and he was pretty disfigured from it and the head trauma changed his personality and I just had a “I give up at life” moment and also his prescriptions made this relapse extremely easy. I helped him relearn how to walk and we’re still together, but the constant reminder of what I thought was the universe being out to tear me to shreds lead this to go on for several years…I mean, it’s still going on and I’m starting to think I’ve changed too much for the same type of recovery to work for me, which is why I’ve asked for other options. If I had access to ibogain, I’d love to just go through that and be done with it, but of course it’s illegal even though it’s an almost guaranteed cure for opioid addiction, which is WHY it’s illegal. I’ve never heard of vivitrol so I’ll have to look into that. Also the suboxone from the first time literally ruined most of my teeth so I’d like to avoid that route completely. Thank you again for your suggestions.

I don't get how the similarities of tone to Tool are not obvious to people, it actually puts me off listening to this band sometimes, even though I respect the difference and quality at the same time. Some of their music is quite unique and great, but some of it sounds right out of Tool and can be hard to take seriously. Fans really hate it when you say that too it seems and try to say it is completely different, when clearly, at least some of it is probably not different enough.
