The voice acting and the loading art shots are so underrated for such an obscure game at the time. Tons of fan service when anime wasn’t easy to find during that time. I remember recording all the narrated scenes with Tiffany (on cassette lol) cuz I loved her voice!

Batsu's voice actor, Nobuyuki Hiyama, didn't just voice Link and Nightmare, but Joe Higashi up until KOF 14, Hiei in Yuyu Hakusho, Dimitri in Darkstalkers, Ikkaku in Bleach, Sanageyama in Kill La Kill, and dozens more. Hyo's voice actor, Toshikazu Shiozawa, was another fixture in the industry for a long time. This was actually one of his last roles because he passed away in 2000.

The Japanese versions of these games had way more interesting create-a-character modes (Visual Novel for the first 2 on PS1, Boardgame/Visual Novel for Project Justice)

I love how Akira's alt team super move. A straight reference from Neon Genesis Evangelion when Shinji and Asuka learn to synchronize to defeat the Angel. This game is so damn fun.

I remember how hard this game was on the hardest settings, ESPECIALLY on the Evolution disc. Speaking of that disc, playing thought it 50 million times to unlock all of the edit characters were some of my favorite memories as a kid. My homie would come over and We'd play that shit over and over and over to unlock everyone and all the females alternate costumes and special moves. SUCH FUN!!! Thanks for revisiting this classic. Also Tiffany has some cool damaging ground combos with her punch moves. Use those more lol.

My favorite thing about rival schools was you had so much meter, staking supers and being able to just spam those supers & team up attacks was incredible!

I think the most underrated and forgotten Capcom's fighting game was Red Earth.

I used to play this game when I was 5. This game along with tekken 3 and mk trilogy got me into fighting games. I remember waking up early before school in Cuba playing this game. I wish this game makes a come back.

God, Rival Schools is my absolute favorite Capcom fighting game and I really wish it could be revisited for the current generation. I don't even have enough friends to really play fighting games with but I'd buy it up in a heartbeat anyway.

This game and its sequel on Dreamcast (yes I know part 2 also came out on PlayStation but come on the Dreamcast version was sooooo good !) are so awesome ! It sits on top of my wish list of "please make another one" with Darkstalker.

Man this is really taking me back. As a 5 year old I used to play this game so much on my old PS2 my favorite duo was the baseball dude and Tiffany. I don’t remember all their names since well it’s been almost a decade and a half since I played this game. But I’m glad the biker girl will come to sf5 I would love a remake or at least a sequel cause this was my first ever fighting game so it holds a special place in my heart.

Watching this really puts me in a good mood. You've got great music, familiar voice actors (to me at least), and just a fun game. Really makes me wish I grew up with Sony instead of Nintendo.

Best thing about this game was the bonus disc which had a couple of pretty fun mini-games, and all the extra versions of the characters and artwork and stuff to unlock. It was ridiculous the amount of content there was, it was ace.

Love this game, yes it can get the street fighter and king of fighters clone sticker on it but it is so much it's own game too. All the characters are fun to play again their own, but also enough familiarity with fighters from other games so you can find your favorite. And the possibility of 2 endings is a bonus in this one. I know he is a muscle head knock off of ryo but batsu is my main, an Raisu too
