2 жыл бұрынA plumber shows how to repair a water pipe #repair #plumbing A customer had a water pipe leak under his sink cabinet. It looked like i just needed to replace the stop valve. When I tried to unscrew the valve it broke. The stop valve was made of poor material. I ended up having to replace the wall plate as well.

What about using a spiral nipple extractor to remove broken piece? I just did that today to remove a broken shower arm. Had to cut off tip from extractor as not to bottom out on dropear elbow.

Here's a tip in addition to the nipple extractor. If the stuck nipple is plastic (which can be the case with cheap shower arms) you can use a 1/2" copper fitting brush in your drill to melt it out of the drop ear elbow just don't mess up the threads!

It's a kitchen cabinet. customer is going to repair the hedge himself. It was an emergency rush job in the evening. customer was super happy that i helped him within 1 hour. Getting it out isn't as easy as you think. the threads are glued with loctite.

Fix the wall before you screw the valve on. It is chip board not drywall so easy to add fillet inside the hole and stick the original piece in

Dude those stops are ass but all you needed to do was use to screw drivers, wedge them and twist both of them to get it off lol.

Shots under a sink out of eyes reach and 99% of the time tonnes of cleaning products etc infront of it. Bet the last and next guy to even see them connections are plumbers.

@@diyplumbinganouar9018 you applied a sideways force when turning the wrench. I’ve never broke a fitting while tightening or loosening it and had my hand fly to the side twisting like you did. Still could have been a cheap fitting, but when you decide to pull sideways on the fitting it has a higher chance to break.

Sometimes you can cut it out in such a way that you can neatly put it back for the home owner. Otherwise we are plumbers. We don’t care about that.

That was my thinking. But even with an extractor tool, I’d be afraid the fitting would break loose from those cheesy anchors. My approach would have been to get a sawzall, carefully cut some relief channels on the inside, and use two flat heads to twist it out. Mostly because I don’t like making a larger hole unless I absolutely have to. Nothing wrong with his approach although I don’t think that square he cut is easily repairable.

Why is everyone hating on this ?! Perfect repair/replacement going on here! tradespeople arnt magicians sometimes things need to be taken apart out the way to get access. You have to break some eggs to make an omelette!! Also easy outs don't always work just mangle things even worse & waste time they don't like heat & with soft metals just shredd fittings. Have a day off all you arm chair experts!!
