This polymer clay tutorial shows you what stages a Natasha image goes through, when creating them from scratch. No scrap clay is involved. This video then gives you an idea of how the image can go from a very "blocky" look to an image that can be so blended...you might not want to chop too much more before it starts to look blended.

Hi Laura. I've only made Natasha images with scrap clay before so it is interesting to see what happens when you choose the colours so you decide if you want to have a dominant colour or equal amounts of each colour. I will be playing around with this idea. Thank you

Bless you, Clare!! I am thrilled you found this interesting and useful. And yeah, throwing in different amounts of colored clay that you use, can make a difference on the outcome of the design. I do suggest though, that you have at least one noncolor in the mix, whether it be white, black or gray. And intensity of the clay will matter with that too. I hope you have a great day, lady!! Sending my hugs! :)

@@laurajschiller Thank you Laura. I'll keep the non-colour advice in mind. I love that your videos cover working with Polymer clay in a different way to the others I have seen on KZfaq. You always leave me with something to think about.

@@clare9637 Well, that is wonderful high praise!! Thank you so kindly, lady!! I have been striving for this very thing throughout my videos and I have been hoping for that. It has been difficult to come up with something different when you have seen it done a certain way and that is all that is known. Truly, thank you...I know I will be getting some critics to what I am putting out here, and already have. But with people like yourself, supporting me and cheering me on...well, heck...just thank you. It means so much...Sending you my biggest of hugs!! :)

Does the fact that the block keeps getting smaller have an impact on the fact that the images get smaller and tighter? If you had put the whole thing back in and chopped would the images still be small and tight detail? Have I seen some people do a log and twist it a lot before making into a block and cutting? Would that get the more detailed image faster?

So, the block kept getting smaller because I was running out of clay. LOLOLOL!! I didn't want to add anymore clay, because then it wouldn't be a true experiment on what the results would be each time. The images get more and more detailed with every cutting you do, which is why eventually, you want to stop or the images will start to get too tiny, and then into mud. And yes, others have twisted the block and then cutting, and to the last question...possibly. I believe it's based more on how tiny the details you have when you first start cutting Natashas...But thank you for all the questions. Sending you my hugs! :)
