A little correction, it's not directly a parody of Power Rangers, it's the direct parody of Super Sentai, the franchise that Power Rangers adapted.

Been reading this manga, I’m mostly impressed with how much budget went into this

I was hoping that the first season will get 24 episodes, we will get Ranger exam at best at this point, which is ok, it's a good point to end the season with big fight at the end of exams, but god damn, the main treat for me personally comes after that, when Kanon Hisui (Green second in comand) will take interest in D during the exams, their friendship is the best thing in the series, when she huggs him in his invader form and says "who are you want to beat the most" is so wholesome. (no context = no spoiler, tehee) And Footsoldier D is one of the best underdog protagonist out there, he can rival Osamu Mikumo from World Trigger in being weak and using his weakness to beat his opponents with his smartness and not raw strenght. But well, if we get more seasons after that, i wont mind.

I am a big Toku fan so I might be annoying with what I will say next (sorry in advance if this is the case). But just for a little summary, there is a thing called "Tokusatsu", that mean special effect, who is a category of movies and TV show wich relies heavely on FX, one of the first being the OG Godzilla from 1954. Since then, on TV there have been numerous "super heros" show created, the big 3 being Ultraman (a hero that can become big to fight Kaiju and Chuchu from Chain Soldier used his pose and sound effect), Kamen rider (Masked Rider by Saban, a hero who wear a belt that help him to transform when he say "henshin" and who most of the time has a bike) and the super sentai (a groupe of heroes of differents color fighting againt an army of evil). They were created in 1966, 71 and 75 respectively and still airing with new saison today, so that is a big part of the japanese culture. A little fun fact, Toei whose own the rights from both Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, is the studio behind the japanese Spiderman show, after this one they wanted to make an Avenger one, but Marvel said no, and that why they created the first super sentai, to have a team on their own, so... thank you Marvel in a way lol.

This was such a sick pilot, I had no idea what to expect going in but it set everything up perfectly. Edit: After finishing the episode 3:50 "the rest is up to you I guess" sounds like what someone who is in on this infiltration plan would say but who knows everything the yellow haired girl says is sus so I have no clue which side or what her motivations are.
