Between his 12th and final incarnation. Given New Who revealing 11 was his last incarnation until the Time Lords gave him a new regeneration cycle. Could the Meta Crisis Doctor be the Valeyard who did try to commit genocide on the Daleks hence a creation of all his dark desires. He also can't regenerate and is why he wants the Doctors regenerations especially if he learns the Doctor got more. Maybe the Death of Rose or even him in a rage killing her turns him into the Valeyard.

Wouldn't the dream lord be a better choice

Thanks, in part to Big Finish's regeneration story, "The Sixth Doctor: The Last Adventure," there's a slightly better explanation to it. The Valeyard was created as a weapon by the Time Lords... that they lost control of (because of course they did). The idea, at least to my understanding, is that the Time Lords extracted the darker side from the twelfth Regeneration (I say Matt Smith, because he's the Twelfth regeneration, but still the Eleventh Doctor) onwards to the final one. All those darker sides of each Doctor were then combined to form one being.

According to Nabil Shiban, Sil can't appear in New Who because he's been blacklisted by the BBC for calling Tony Blair a Nazi on air. He has however arranged an independent production where Sil is on trial for his life that's going straight to DVD.

I’m of the opinion that the Tenth Doctor was only talking about his current incarnation, not the Doctor as a whole.

In defense of the Doctor's Daughter (one of the rare times you'll hear me verbalize that) I think they were trying to imply that the Doctor wouldn't kill someone when it wasn't necessary, not that he wouldn't kill under any circumstances
@DiamandaHagan8 жыл бұрын
+Zak Kizer But even thats wrong though. He would and has. He talked the last devestated and near defenceless dalek in existence to death. Just to finish the job. If The Time Meddler (the Hartnell story) taught me anything, its that The Doctor would be a Doctor Who villain if he wasnt the main character.
@zombiefan0118 жыл бұрын
DiamandaHagan perhaps, I don't mind the idea of the Doctor not liking violence or killing, but when you look at the series as a whole the idea really doesn't hold up that well. Like in the Twin Dilemma, when Six claims he abhors violence save for self-defense...five minutes after trying to kill Peri!
@DiamandaHagan8 жыл бұрын
+Zak Kizer I think its fairly complicated. he doesnt like violence but he's happy to do it. Probably a source of self loathing.
@zombiefan0118 жыл бұрын
DiamandaHagan true, he hates genocide but does it on occasion, namely the Time Lords, then again the Time Lords did spend most of the classic series trying to arrest or kill him, and on one occasion they actually succeeded!
@jakob7168 жыл бұрын
+DiamandaHagan I think of it that way - Time War devastated the Doctor so he didn't wanted to see more death of innocent.

Its sad how Colin Baker's era as the Doctor was screwed over by those in charge at the time, but at least his audio drama stories set things right. I've only had the pleasure of listening to one so far, & don't know if you can download them off I-Tunes or Amazon, but I'd be interested in experiencing more. The one I have enjoyed was "Real Time," which is one of the best Cybermen stories EVER as far as I'm concerned, & way better than anything New Who has done for the Cybermen as of yet. The Sixth Doctor is amazing in that one, his companion Evelyn is great too, & the Cybermen are just CHILLING, love their voices.

I like 6 Doctor's comic books, especially the ones with Frobisher. He is my favourite companion of the 6 (I know that's oddly narrow demographic). There was also at least one story when Frobisher traveled with 7, and his last story was okay.

DiamandaHagan I am afraid that I disagree with you on Peri's fate. I can appreciate Nicola's desire for a powerful departure from the show. However as a fan with a deep affection for her character the "death" was a shocking and upsetting experience. Resulting in a rather caustic letter to the BBC in the weeks before the off hand revelation that she in fact lived. However the marriage to Brian Blessed's King Yrcarnos was not a particularly endearing outcome either. I just wanted Peri to end up somewhere that felt good and right. Her death was neither good nor right and though Peri becoming a queen was good her relationship with Yrcarnos did not feel right. A trilogy of Big Finish audios (The Widow's assassin, Masters of Earth and The Rani elite) continue Peri's story following on from the end of "Mindwarp" to hopefully a more satisfactory conclusion.

I have heard that some people have defended this season and said that all of it's problems are done on purpose. Was there ever any evidence to back that up? If there was, I would be impressed that they would do that at a time when the BBC was trying to cancel the show. I do wonder why your video looks smaller here on KZfaq than it did on blip.
@its-morbintime8 жыл бұрын
I can see how it would've come to that conclusion since that the majority of the first 3 stories are "evidence" that has been tampered with in The Matrix and the last one takes place in whats supposed to be a surreal dream micro universe (so you could say each story was meant to be confusing and it not come off as ridiculous), but...I'm willing to bet more on"The BBC really wanted to cancel the show and didn't care how they did it." Although that still doesn't explain the Vervoid story - if he sees his future and what everyone else was doing so long in advance that he changed his costume a third time (and it being the worst one out of Colin's TV costumes is saying something!) , he could resolve the entire thing in 5 minutes since he knows whats going on and therefore what they see go on in the Matrix immediately becomes null and void as soon as they watch it.
@jakob7168 жыл бұрын
+Javier Ruiz-Leon Jr. The reason the video is smaller (I think) in order for it to not be taken down by BBC

Mindwarp was great, so was Vernon's. Ultimate Foe was decent considering the problems, and Mysterious Planet was so underwhelming at the time. The original season 23 would have been better though!

This season sucked...if you're looking for something much better, check out the Unbound audio drama He Jests at Scars where the Valeyard wins the Trial and Mel's a hardened warrior hunting him down. It's really good and worth the $5 price! Also if you're looking for proper closure, check out the released 6th Doctor: The Last Adventure, which includes the story of his confrontation with the Valeyard and his final regeneration. In short, Big Finish is FAR superior for the 6th Doctor to anything that happened onscreen

Doctor Who goes through its Fat Elvis phase and nearly drops dead. Brian Blessed is terrific because he gets to play Brian Blessed, and I find myself wishing that Jack Black could be the next Dr. Who (assuming Jodie Whittaker follows that stupid "three-and-out" rule). Hey, why not give it a try? Sylvester McCoy was one of those "nothing left to lose" gambles and it paid off handsomely. I always thought this was the worst season of Dr. Who. The cheap production values that haunted the '80s are worse than ever, the episodes are incredibly tired out, and Colin Baker packed on at least 80 pounds. It really does look like all the cheap tackiness and plastic shlock that was soooo 1986. The special effects shot of the space station at the very beginning was literally the best thing about that season. Just watch that part and move on. Well, Colin Baker is less of an obnoxious asshole, so that's a plus. And they finally got rid of Nicola Bryant, who I couldn't stand. She existed purely as eye candy and an attempt to appeal to American fanboys. Season 23 shows just how creatively Dr. Who became. It was a 1960s cliffhanger serial adventure with time travel and alien invasions that was now completely, totally, 100% spent and should have retired years before. Cough, Simpsons, ahem. Seriously, I feel like I'm watching The Banana Splits or The Great Space Coaster by this point. It's just terrible, useless and stupid. It even makes me pine for the cruel sadism of Season 22, because, hey, at least those episodes made me feel something. Please burn the clown costume. Please burn the clown costume. Please burn the clown costume.

Shouldn't these be retitled, "A Quick Excuse for Me to Air My Hatred of The Doctor's Daughter, Without Actually Being Relevant."

Colin Baker did not refuse to return for the regeneration; he refused to return because if he'd agreed to do so, he'd have spent a year associated with the role and unable to get other work for the sake of 25 minutes of TV. Also, this season was brilliant, and some foetus who wasn't even there has no right to slag it off.
@DiamandaHagan8 ай бұрын
Hi Tony, long time. Wild how you opened off by saying that Colin Baker didn't refuse to return for the regeneration and then instantly gave a reason for why he refused to return for the regeneration. Also, I saw Colin and McCoy on initial broadcast. Also also, I remember the time you posted a screengrab from the movie Ju-on to Gallifreybase to try and prove the existence of ghosts.
