Building something for yourself is one thing, but building something for someone else('s) wedding, is another! This was actually kind of a stressful process. I was struggling to get the pitch that I wanted, worried about taking too much length off in the process (which wasn't an issue in the end because I gave myself enough length to play with). Worried if the symmetry was good enough, colours good enough, and just worried in general! haha. I'm glad it's over. 🤫😬
I always learn so many things every time I challenge myself to another new project and tackling new skills. I literally lay awake at night for hours thinking of how I could improve upon things, how I could do things differently, and what future projects I want to do and share.
In the end, I have no idea what the angle / pitch is, but the length of each log is approximately 175"/ 14.5' / 444.5 cm, and the approximate width at the bottom is 120" / 10' / 304.8 cm.

Super Woman ! Hi, I've been watching these videos recently, by chance, and what I see is a girl who manages on her own (a priori) to carry out a bunch of different jobs and moreover with a certain ease! I'm amazed and I say "hats off"! She has all the right tools, ideas and tips... Super Woman! Very good !👍👍🙌🙌 I can understand that Michy is Michele => congratulations Michelle !!

Yeah, agree with the previous comments - fixed wheels the way to go, and also don't go too far out on the wheel base. But thing is ... I would've also opted for rotating wheels before I saw this... Well done on persevering - it got the job done.

Hiya Michele, Great video, thank you. I think it was wonderful to give Steve so much praise and thanks for his help with this project, BUT, have you noticed how often there is a but in things? BUT it was your concept of how to do it, your skill, your brain. Yes, I can see how my namesake did his bit, bit = small part, not knocking Steve but you did the work and got it to look so fabulous on the day. The cut it down the middle is also all from you, symbolic too, the whole being two parts that fit and match together. I'd have put vines spiralled down all the legs with battery lights, but then I was a lighting technician in a past life. To put it together, your work was wonderful, you took her request for an arbour and made it work, and look great, and be safe from little kids playing, and well done, IT WORKED!!! What more do you need? Okay, you've redesigned it for sale, the cross-braced foot being covered was genius. Stay safe, Steve...

How about strapping the ball hitch to the bottom of the log and straight wheels, possibly a bracket to bolt to the bolt on trolley. Set up was an awesome idea. Years ago I made a half round arch for my brother's wedding. Ripped strips glued them into a jig for arch, made two sides and wrapped with 1x4 as mortise. Was hoping he would have taken home with him and use at his house, but that didn't happen. Awesome job. Great ideas.

Great job Michelle, it must have given you a good feeling to help your friend celebrate her union. I think non-swiveling wheels would work better for you, and locate the dollie more toward the center of the log so it follows like a trailer. That should make it much easier to navigate the tight turns. Best regards.

So glad to see you bought and are using saw pants. Two options for dragging logs, cut over length and cut off excess when at site or, take a crazy carpet ( satans plastic toboggan design) and bend CC over the exposed end and screw there and wrap strap around other end of CC to secure off of ground. You could even drag two pieces at a time with either of these methods. The arbor turned out great but a medieval pin and tenon to secure joints or recessed screw head with dowels would take it to another level. Also doing a lap joint and creating a cross at the top would be nice too. Congratulations to the new couple and your perseverance to complete the project! well done

Lay the two logs down at the “perfect” pitch. Lay a board wide enough across the point of the angle so that it spans all 4 inside and outside edges of both logs and is at 90 degrees to the base of the logs. Use the outside edges of the board as references to your angled cut. Side note. Trying to brain my way through a cost effective ATV log hauler as well. You gave me a great idea!!
