We take you inside the New York City courtroom on day 10 of Donald Trump’s criminal trial. NBC News reporter Adam Reiss joins MSNBC’s Katie Phang on the scene inside the room, specifically how Trump reacted to a secret recording being introduced as evidence. Trump listened as the recording heard Cohen and Trump speaking about the McDougal deal, as Cohen explained his intent to set up a company that would purchase the rights to the story. “Pay with cash,” Trump tells Cohen in a recording played for the jury. Political strategist Adam Parkhomenko, Vanity Fair special correspondent Molly Jong-Fast and lawyer Charles Coleman join the panel.

I cannot believe that these guys, well educated, successful business people running or in charge of large companies and billions of dollars, knew what they were doing was illegal and wrong, didn’t want people to find out, yet wrote the entire plan down on paper like Weisselberg did or that Cohen and others recorded all their phone calls discussing the plan. That's not the case. Trump is gagged. It is a violation if he does speak of Cohen. His punishment for doing so, is not what it should be, but still violation. Which can affect him in his other criminal cases. Cohen made the decision to not discuss the trial on his podcasts. The judge mentioned it, but after Cohen made the decision himself. Cohen does not have to make any further comments during trial. He has been honest and his testimony will be loud enough. Cohen will go down in history as the man who exposed the con man. Trump is officially on Record as VonShitzhispants. And that was all Cohen. 😂

So he BENEFITED from the ALLEGED adverse impact on his family. Crime DOES pay -- so long as one can "credibly" claim that one's family's suffering should absolve you of deserved jail time. As said: try that defense when poor and the judge will reject it and focus on the fact that you committed the crime and the penalty will apply regardless the impact on your family. Putting Trump in the pokey for the lunch recess for a couple of days for contempt could be enough to deter Trump from violating gag orders. If not, make the next violation a weekend stay. Give Trump a lunch like regular prisoners might get (often jails won't provide any lunch for prisoners waiting in lockup), perhaps feed Trump those awful "mystery meat" sandwiches the jails serve.
