Since the acquisition of my new puzzle shelf - I have realised that I have gathered quite a few new puzzles over the last couple of months. There was some interest in my new Krypt and one of my 5k puzzles, so I thought I’d do a puzzle haul video for you and let you know some of the other videos and puzzles that I have planned for the channel! Hope you enjoy 😃

The large one is the first large puzzle I ever did! I love it still 😍 and yes, the curtains did indeed drive me insane 😆 I wanted to put the large and small beside each other - just for the fun of it really 😃

Oh please do Cosy Shed for us! I can't always move much, so I 'escape' into puzzles - living in the picture as I'm doing it; absorbing the atmosphere of the place depicted! Next best is watching someone else make and build it (#notsubtle)... This one whispers 'autumn video, mulled wine, fluffy socks' :)

😃 I feel like that one should be filmed with me reclining on a sofa, clad in jammies, slippers and blanket, with the cat at my side 😍. Not sure how I’d get good shots of the puzzle like that though! 😆 Maybe I’ll do a vid on it, never say never! Thanks so much for watching 😍

😃 thanks for letting me know! I might do a video on Fairytale Fantasia, a few people have mentioned that they like that one. I love it too - the colours are so gorgeous, plus the subject matter is totally my thing (fantasy stuff) 😍 Starfield and Dalmatians I’m just a little daunted by, but hope they will be fun in the sense that they are a challenge 😆 thank you so much for watching!

I too have the Disney 5000 piece puzzle of artsy Mickey. So I would love to see you do a video on that. Disney, and other cartoon puzzles are among my favourite puzzles in regards to the puzzle picture.

Hi there. Great puzzle haul video. I like how you tell a little story for each puzzle you acquired. It keeps it fun and entertaining. Since you mentioned me a few times in your video as somebody, I thought I should introduce myself a little. My name is Harold and I am a very early subscriber of yours from the great Canadian wilderness. I am somewhat reserved when it comes to social media so the occasional YT comment is pretty much the extent of my online footprint. I have had a similar dilemma when it comes to finding a good puzzling surface that is large enough for any puzzle I might want to assemble and thought I should share the solution I came up with. After much consideration, I decided to get two Ikea Lagkapten tables (200cm x 60cm) with Olov adjustable legs (5 per table). By placing them side by side and tying them together I get a total surface of 200cm x 120cm which is enough for most large puzzles. The idea behind the adjustable legs is to set the table surface high enough to use with a bar stool chair such as Bergmund in such a way that I can be at approximately the same height whether I am sitting or standing. The other advantage of having two tables is that I can untie them and flip one table on top of the other should I need the floor space for something else. I don't think it could be set high enough to prevent feline intruders from inspecting your work however. 🙂

Hi Harold! Thanks so much for introducing yourself, and thanks again for suggesting that I do a puzzle haul video. I really enjoyed filming this one actually - it’s probably boring to most, but I enjoy telling the stories behind my puzzles - especially if they are accidental, lucky or bargain finds! I’m really glad you liked that element of it. 😊 I’ll have a look at that table that you mentioned from Ikea - funnily enough I have a friend driving me to Ikea today (11th Jun 22) - I don’t llve that close to one, but it’s going to be a great trip for stocking up my new flat. I can check out the table while I am there! 200 x 120 sounds ideal - I wanted 120cm on one dimension - the other I was thinking around 175cm, so 200 would more than cover that 😃. I have a friend who is coming up with all kinds of storage ideas for the board. The other day he suggested rigging up a pulley system to raise it up when not being used, or even keep it out of the way when there is a puzzle in progress on it! My brain exploded with the practical possibilities of that! 💥 I’m not sure if he knows what he has got himself in for by suggesting that idea 😆. @@Vickymakesandbuilds Hi Vicky. Hope you had a productive visit at Ikea today. Here in Canada inventory is still a problem and I have to use their notification system to get some of the items I need for my soon to be dedicated puzzle room. The next thing to tackle is lighting. I want to design something that provides soft and even light with a minimum of shadows. It should also be adjustable in terms of intensity and colour temperature. I have noticed that colour temperature has an effect on my ability to perceive colour differences so I want to use that when I can. I also want to reduce the blue component when puzzling later at night in order to not affect my sleep quality. A remote control setup for the lights would be a nice bonus as well. Cheers, Harold.

What a find!!!! In the states we call those charity shops thrift stores. Never was lucky enough to get a great puzzle haul though. Good for you! Looking forward to seeing any video from you!

😃 Hi! Yes, some people here call them thrift shops too. There is normally a good selection of puzzles that pop up in my local ones, but often they are not to my taste. On occasion though, I just find gem after gem and before I know it, I need a trolley to get them all home! 😆 I think there are a few puzzling fans that live near to me that like to donate their puzzles, so that helps. Hiya! That’s great you’re getting Skyline - I’ve had my eye on that puzzle for a while now. I love the neon against the black 😃. Yes, you are right of course - it is the Disney Orchestra 1k. Hello, Vicky! I do have many exit puzzles from Ravensburger. Some of them, (I haven't puzzled all of them yet) have also the same cut. I keep hearing about the cloudberries, from creators. I have 3 puzzles now, including the one you showed, but haven't done any one of them. Must get to them.

Hiya! I really enjoyed the Escape puzzle I did for the channel. I will look forward to this one too, but I’m not sure if I’ll record that one - I would like to try a level 3 challenge one, I think 😊. What’s the highest difficulty level you have done so far? I have done several Cloudberries puzzles, and I’ve loved every one. I’m looking forward to Skyline, I love the neon colours against the black. Hope you enjoy yours when you get around to them 😍

Yes, Vinted is great! I’ve only used it a couple of times, but I’ve found it to be really good for all sorts of things 😍. I went on there initially, because my son has developed an obsession for Percy Pig (Marks and Spencer) and he struggles to get the plushies because they are limited editions and sell for extortionate prices on eBay - went on Vinted and found some great bargains (as well as the puzzles of course!)

Those puzzles all look like fun! The ones I am looking forward to specifically are the Blue Kazoo Starfield puzzle and the Dalmatians puzzle. Both look really challenging. Oh and I really like the look of the mint-coloured Krypt puzzle! Happy puzzling!

Hi Vicky great haul of puzzles. I've purchased quite a few recently as well. The pink Krypt is arriving tomorrow. I have the black and the gold but have not done them yet. Normally, I open and sort each puzzle as I get them, usually whilst watching T.V. so that when I feel like doing one I can just take it out and it's ready to begin. I opened the Escape from Vampire's Castle one last night and made some headway with the actual puzzle so I'm hoping I can figure it out. I also have the observatory but haven't opened yet. I've also purchased a couple of the Bepuzzled murder mystery ones which could be a challenge. Love the look of the World's most difficult puzzle. I haven't done the charity shop raid thing yet so I must get around to that. Hopefully I will find some gems there too. Always look forward to new videos on your channel. Kind regards.

Hi! Thank you 😊 Yes, I’d say I lucked out with this haul - lots of really good finds. I have been lucky with the charity shops so far, although, there is always that missing piece risk; on occasion though, you do find new and sealed ones, which is amazing! 😍I haven’t tried the Bepuzzled puzzles yet, or a murder mystery puzzle for that matter - although I do have one in my stash (another charity shop find 😃), I must get round do doing it, they look fun! I really love your idea about sorting first then putting away until you are ready. I would try that if I wasn’t filming the process. I have, however, sorted in front of the TV - especially on the big puzzles, it’s just so monotonous that I need that extra entertainment 😆. @@Vickymakesandbuilds Hi Vicky - Just wanted to let you know that I did the Murder on the Titanic mystery one - lol difficult without a picture to work from and not knowing what anything actually is part of or where it goes in the puzzle other than the colours that fit around the border - but worth the effort in the end. My 18000 piece Paradise Sunset arrived this morning but I won't be unboxing or tackling that for a while as there are too many others I should get to first.

@@Vickymakesandbuilds Hi Vicky I opened the Observatory one and looked at it - lots of dark border and I put it away again LOL - Started the Pink Krypt instead figuring that at least it is bright enough to see. Frustrating though as I am determined not to look at the solution. My mum was joking and asked if she could help. I said yeah I'm looking for a piece to go in that gap. It's pink. Should be easy to find if you want to look for it. She laughed and went back to her crosswords and the tennis. I also tend to sort in front of the T.V. or spread the bundles out on my bed and sit there. Tend to fall asleep if I'm too comfy though when the sorting gets tedious.

Hi Vicky. I heard you’re moving AND you have the dalmatien puzzle…. Glad you have some new puzzles that look a bit more relaxing (fantasy bookstore/ cosy shed). You deserve it as those two things that would stress me out. I have the cosy shed in 500 pieces and liked it . Thanks for the video.

Hi Vicky (spelled the best way)! The puzzle you’re working is giving me Disney vibes. Such a coincidence that I have the Blue Kazoo mini Moon puzzle at my desk while I’m working right now. I’ve painted my bedroom in grays, whites and blacks and the plan is to frame this one for my wall. I’ll be looking forward to seeing how you tackle the Cloudberries Skyline puzzle!

RE-EDITED, VICKY! Sweet! Another unexpected video...so soon! I'm planning to do a charity shop puzzle day marathon! I will finish watching your video later and maybe re-edit. Looking forward to this!!! Any puzzle will do for a video...maybe rhe 5K one?? But any! You are so lucky in finding awesome puzzles in charity shops/thrift stores. It is difficult in finding good ones, but when I find one, it is sheer happiness!!!!!

Hiya! Yes, it was unexpected for me too as I hadn’t planned it, but ideal since I’m not finding a lot of actual puzzle time at the moment 😕. Yes, I agree, they would all make good videos. It’s interesting to hear what people’s favourites are though 😃! I am very excited about both 5k ones, and also the Krypts. I definitely seem to live near some avid puzzlers. There are interesting ones popping up in the thrift stores all of the time - I did have a very lucky week that week though 😆. May you find puzzle luck in your thrift stores from now on 😍

Yes, that’s the one! I did the giant version of it early on in the channel, I have had it to do for a while, and wanted to put the two beside each other - like Mama puzzle and baby puzzle 😆 Thank you so much for watching!

Plywood is stronger and lighter than MDF board. Usually comes 4'x8'

Yes, I looked into plywood too. The problem with it for me was that I would be leaning a heavy tripod on one side of it and the lightness would have made it tip up 😊

I have the Fairytale myself and it looks so pretty when it's done. I really liked the Cosy Shed one but I guess it's not a video puzzle. However, I'm looking forward to the Pokemon one, it looks like fun.

Oh, that’s great! I haven’t seen pictures of Fairytale really - often you see pics of puzzles on social media, but there are sooo many Ravensburgers that I can’t remember ever seeing this one. I may well do a video on it after all 😍 Yes, I feel like the Cosy Shed is one purely for enjoyment, the image spoke to me - I think it’s the blanket, cup of tea, book and curled up cat that really draws me in - makes me want to sit like that…and puzzle 😆. I can’t wait for the Pokemon one either - it’s going to be great! Thank you for watching 😃

I’d love to see videos of the Mini moon, Cloudberries Skyline and Krypts! It’s the 1000 piece Disney Orchestra one! A couple of weeks ago I found one in a charity shop for £2.50. I started it earlier in the week and after sorting through half of it and not finding any edge pieces I realised that there were no edge pieces 😭 I’ve put it back in its box. Not decided what to do with it yet 😆

thank you! I am looking forward to all of those too - especially the Krypts 😃. How bizarre that you found a puzzle with no edge pieces! What on earth could have happened that they neglected to include those? It could be one of those scenarios where the person bagged the edges separately, but then forgot to put them in perhaps? I wonder if the central pieces are all there…you’d have a fairly full image, but with a bumpy edge - it’s different I suppose 🤣 thanks for watching!

@@Vickymakesandbuilds I think your right about the edges being bagged separately. I’ve had puzzles from my local charity shops separated like that. Maybe somebody got a bonus edge 😆

And I am quite sure about what that puzzle you have done the edge of, is. But that is only because I have the bigger version of that puzzle (about 13 times bigger in regards to puzzle pieces). I do however admit that the pan you showed of that puzzle, had me puzzled (pun intended) a bit since I found the pieces to be too big compared to the puzzle that I thought it was. But it seems Clementoni made that puzzle in at least two sizes in regards to the number of puzzle pieces.

Hi I love your new video , I have been doing puzzles since lockdown, I heard you mention mdf , to do your puzzles on i myself use hardboard it's much lighter and cheaper , hope this helps xx

Hiya! Thank you so much. I’m glad you loved it. Yes, I’ve been looking into MDF, ply, hardboard etc. My thinking behind MDF is specifically because it adds a little bit of weight. I don’t want it so heavy that it’s impossible to move, but I want it to be able to sit on a table top and not be easily knocked by either the cat, or the kids as they go past. Or even myself, when I’m walking around the board to build the puzzle. Also, when I film, I’ll need to have two legs of my tripod sitting on it, which could tip it up if the board is too light. So many different things to consider. I’m going to go to a hardware shop and have a look at some different options though just to get a feel for it, if you see what I mean - it could be that I find a better option. Anyway, it’s great to have a board I think, whatever the type, foam board is just too flimsy 😍. Thanks for the tips, and for watching x

Did you ever do the Dalmatian puzzle? I got it for Christmas and I’m on day 3 and MAN it’s tricky LOL but I’m having a good time with it!

Well, I find that the charity shops around here are quite varied when it comes to puzzle prices. Yesterday I found a sealed Ravensburger 1000 piece for £3! If I’d found that in one of the other charity shops I go to, it would have been about £5. The cheapest I’ve found a decent quality charity shop puzzle is probably about £2.50. It all just depends where you go. I still think a fiver would have been a bargain for that puzzle, and when you can see it’s new or it’s been kept in good condition I don’t mind paying a bit more. 😊 I do wish that ALL the charity shops checked the puzzles over first though. Some do, but not all, and it must be a little frustrating when you pay out to buy a puzzle with so many pieces missing that it hardly seems worth building (thankfully that hasn’t happened to me, but I know it happens to many others!) Charity shop or not, I just don’t think they should sell them like that. Of course, I don’t think people should donate them like that either!

I personally cannot wait until you do the 5000 piece pokemon puzzle, having done it myself I can tell you how much fun it is to do, also would love to see the other 5000 piece puzzle - sorry I just have a bug for massive puzzles. The one your doing now is the 1000 piece version of the 13,200 Disney Orchestra puzzle (Which I happen to be working on right now).

The 2 x 5k puzzles are also the ones I’m most excited about - those and the Krypts 😍 I loved watching your progress on the Pokemon one - it does look awesome. Curious to see how the kids cope with it too! 😃 and I completely get the bug for massive puzzles, there is just something amazing about them. That feeling you get when you finish one is just so great! I can’t wait to see your updates on the 13k - how is it coming along? Thank you so much for watching! 😊

@@Vickymakesandbuilds the 13k is coming along slowly (will be posting an update pic very soon, from when posting this). Just the thing called work and life keep getting in the way of puzzling time. Also glad to hear about your new board, it definitely helps with doing large puzzles, you can see the whole thing coming together from the beginning as you do it.

Yes, i’m excited about the board - it turns out we do have a Jewsons here, and several other places too, that will do it. I just have to get it cut and back to my flat. My friend will be a great help with that since he has a trailer! 😍

It is indeed the 1k Disney Orchestra 😃. I’m having great fun with it already, and it’s so cool that even though I did the giant version of it, it has made me so familiar with the puzzle that it is helping me build this smaller one. The curtains are a lot less bothersome though I must say 🤣. I really hope you do get the 13k one - I’ve done some awesome puzzles, but that one is still my favourite - you will love it! 😍

🤣 oh yes! I remember the curtains well - they still haunt my nightmares 😆. At least they are only really bad on 2 of the sections, the others aren’t quite so curtain heavy. Hope you enjoy the rest of your build 😍

Hi, sorry for the delay replying to this - I got my puzzle board from a hardware store here in the UK - a friend had it cut to size and picked it up for me, but he said it was from Wickes 😃

@@Vickymakesandbuilds hi Vicky,i will probably get the 1000 piece moon puzzle,the largest puzzle I made was Vegas clement Toni 6000 pieces, a few years back,last puzzle I did was fantasy toyshop ravensburger 1000 piece.i like the different colours and nostalgia of the toy shop when times were simpler, I remember playing marbles at school and playing with a yo yo or frisbee,fair play to you for your passion for puzzling it's a nice hobby to have.i used to do a lot of puzzles just now and again I had to give most of them away as i had no room,i mainly collect adult Lego now for the past 6 years, it's very expensive though,i spend in moderation.yes you must be ruled by a large moon as you make large puzzle's.😃 All the best keep on puzzling😀

Hiya! Thank you for subscribing - I really appreciate that 😃. The puzzle with the highest piece count that I have done is the 13,224 piece Disney Orchestra. The largest amount of pieces I’ve built in one go is the 9000 piece Disney Museum puzzle. The most pieces I put together in one go on the Clementoni was a double section - 4408 pieces. I’ve done a couple of 6000 piece puzzles too (Clementoni Venice Sunset and Educa Entering the Bedroom). I have the 33,600 piece Educa Wildlife puzzle waiting in the wings, along with two Ravensburger 5k puzzles (Artistic Mickey and Pokemon Allstars), a Clementoni 6k (Las Vegas) and a Piatnik 6k on its way (vintage playing cards!) 😍. Oh yes, and I have another 9k Ravensburger to do - Magical Dragon Forest. Blimey - I have so many large puzzles still to do - I only realised there when I started listing them all. It’s going to be tough to decide which to do next! I would love to take part in the championship - it sounds like fun. 😃

Hi again! I have a 6k Las Vegas puzzle by Clementoni in my stash. Did you enjoy yours? Was it difficult? I do like colourful puzzles as well, and also ones that make me remember good times. I bought a puzzle today with playing cards on it - I used to love playing card games as a kid with my family. Also I am intrigued that you collect Lego. I have a collection of Harry Potter Lego, but it’s hard to keep up with all of the new sets that come out since, as you say, they are so expensive. I also like the Minecraft Lego sets 😍. You found some good bargains there. 👍 You mentioned that you might play with the krypt puzzles by swopping the colours about. Karen Puzzles did that with the areaware ones:- kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rrt3e9tp1MDKiYk.html Good luck with the dalmations one, that will really try your patience! Not the kind of jigsaw I like doing, I prefer to enjoy a puzzle rather than get super frustrated with it. 🧩🧩🧩

Hiya! Yes, I had some super lucky finds at that time, and the weird thing was, a lot of them were the exact ones I was wanting to get from my wish list 😍. Yes, I have actually been wanting to do that with the Krypts ever since I first discovered that they shared piece cuts. It’s just taking me a while to gather them all. Just 2 to get now 😃. I hadn’t seen this video of Karen’s until now, and I’m not at all familiar with Areaware, but it does seem like solid colours/gradients make great puzzles for playing around with to create new patterns 😊. As for the Dalmatians - I don’t mind ‘impossible’ style puzzles, and I thought it would make for an interesting video, but I honestly am not sure how I am going to tackle this one. Think I will just have to do it and see 😁. Thank you for watching!

I’ve done the 5000 piece Disney puzzle. i loved it. Was the first ever big puzzle I done. getting mdf board is a great idea. It’s what I use for big puzzles 🧩 😃
