Huta is Minhyuk’s solo stage name and came from when he was an underground rapper prior to debuting with BTOB. Minhyuk/Huta is one of the few singers that I know where he can literally stand there and still command your attention. BTW, this album (Boom) is 12 songs and was composed, written, & produced by Minhyuk. His first solo album called Hutazone was 13 tracks that were composed, written, & produced by Minhyuk as well.

I think you caught his intentions entirely. In some interviews he talked about how he had to work with the video director and choreographer to keep the video and dance from being too extra. His vision was of restrained power he totally nailed it. As did you in your analysis!!😎 Side note: the struggle to be respectful is real. Forgive me for the length this comment will probably be, I want to comment on everything! 😊 First, thank you so much for reacting to this. I really enjoyed your reaction and love your analysis. His stage name HUTA is actually from when he was an "underground rapper" before becoming a trainee, so he made the name when he was a teenager but still loves to use it. If you listen to him pronounce it, he says it like "hoe-ta". The hangul for it is 허타 which would normally be romanized to heota, so I'm not really sure why he opted for the "u" when romanizing. My favorite parts of the choreography are small details. The part of the song where he says "I'm sorry" he puts his hands together in a 🙏 motion, followed by "there's no exit" he draws an ❌ in the air with his finger, continued with the "welcome" and him making a sort of come hither motion. Also really REALLY love when he makes the boom and all the dancers fall and then he makes the sweeping arm motions to control them. He also twirls his hand when the two front dancers twirl around to face him. I did watch every stage (he promoted for two weeks) and if you want something to watch on your own time just to enjoy, I recommend them. Every single one of his outfits and styling was insane, plus they put him in crop tops twice and the cropped jacket from the MV a couple times as well (I'm saying there is a lot of ab and chest flashing). Also on the stages, the part where he peeks out from behind his fingers, he always smirks. Plus he promoted a B-side (Dear My Spring) on a lot of the stages and there is choreo for it too. If you are interested in doing it, I'd love to see you do a listening party for the BOOM album on Patreon. In this song, I think he actually sang much less than he does on the rest of the album. It's a full album with 12 songs, and they're all outstanding. I am completely in love with and obsessed with his vocals. His vocals are sooooo gorgeous and it's a blessing to be able to hear them in full since he doesn't sing much in BTOB songs. You might also be interested to check out his vocal cover of Crush's "Sofa" on KZfaq if you have never seen it before. Also a solo he released last year between albums "Good Night". Lastly, if you are interested and have never seen it I would love to see a reaction to his YA mv from 2019 as well (and the HUTAZONE album, also a full album and just as good). Either on KZfaq or Patreon. His solo album songs tend to sound much different from BTOB songs, but both albums are fully composed and produced by him. He has mentioned how on HUTAZONE some of the songs he didn't think fully expressed his own tastes because he wrote them with BTOB in mind and then ended up using them as his own songs, but with BOOM, each song he wrote with the intention of it being his. So yes, this man is the full freaking package. Amazing rapper, vocalist, dancer, composer, producer, visual. He does it all! And he's the sweetest personality on top of it.

i enjoyed this a lot! thanks for analyzing the choreo for boom! tbh the first time i saw the choreo i too thought it was a bit lacking oomf, especially since we know that minhyuk’s skilled enough to dance complex moves. but after watching the music show stages, i realized then that there really was no need to dance extra-his stage presence alone was more than enough to dominate our attention XD pluuus, he was probably thinking about singing live too, because btob will always sing live of course! in the end, this was a perfect balance between captivating choreo and live performance.
