WTF DOES “OG KPOP STAN" EVEN MEAN?!⬇️
Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓 I’ve been into Korean music since 1998 when I was 15, and using “kpop stan” is more catchy (super cringe or not) than “person who’s listened to Korean music since 1998”, amirite or AMIRITE.😂

-$3-monthly “CAPTAIN” tier: access to all reactions/reviews to live performances and concerts, 4-6 new videos weekly, plus access to all of the content listed for the “CREW” tier (listed below).
-$1-monthly “CREW” tier: a “tip jar” for anyone who would like to show general support overall that’ll help with what I do on KZfaq and Patreon as well.💜 This tier has access to all reactions/reviews to “watch parties” for shows (Stray Kids' Survival Show, Ateez's Fever Road/Salary Lupin, Kingdom Legendary War, Twice’s SIXTEEN, etc.), album listens, and videos that typically have technical issues when uploaded on KZfaq.

XTRA 411-
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since. The genre, along with artists like Michael Jackson, Aaliyah, Britney Spears, etc. then motivated me into becoming a hip-hop/pop dancer, which was a very active lifestyle for me literally throughout my whole 20s. (XTRA DANCE 411- I danced for, trained, and performed with 4 different dance teams. My first and main dance team who started my "dance life" was with Marvelous Motion (who later became IaMmE, America's Best Dance Crew Season 6 Champions). A lot of my dance training came from Di "Moon" Zhang, Brandon "747" Harrell, Emilio Dosal, SOREAL, and from attending many dance classes in Houston and L.A. (from amazing local talent to widely-known talents such as Parris Goebel, Keone Madrid, Kyle Hanagami, Lando Wilkins, Mister Wiggles, Rino Nakasone)
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music and dance around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis, seizures, and a heart murmur. I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with Kpop or dance. Luckily, I'm in remission now. That doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups if I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible. I am also not capable of being an active dancer like I used to be due to my chronic illnesses, but I’m still a dancer in my mind, heart, and soul.
ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛 Sooo I am currently and actively keeping a weather eye on the KPOP horizon and also using what I’ve learned from my dance years to give credit where it’s due!
💜

I've had this song stuck in my head for days, it's so beautiful. And I can't help but notice how much Seungmin has grown and become even more confident as a performer, it's really inspiring and fun to see him shining in the center! The choreo with the mic stand was so sharp, king of legs ever since Levanter and Back Door lol.

i just love how they made sure that the line “MY SCARS I WILL SHOW IT ALL” is heard so clearly just before the last drop (for more impact) and a dance break following (to absorb their message), it’s like they’re trying to tell themselves (and us) that it’s okay to have scars and to bare them for people to see, they talk as if scars are something you shouldn’t be ashamed of, and they’re right, scars can be a symbol of a person’s endurance and perseverance through the challenges of life.

This is such a beautiful song and video! It hits even more with the lyrics and knowing this song is about their struggles. Chan started working on it at the end of 2019, when they went through their biggest obstacle as a group. UFF.

The emotional vibes and lyrical choreo of Voices and Levanter in this song...and also the scars logo/title is so cool

Great reaction as always (: I really fell in love with this song but I can’t help feeling a bit sad over not seeing that much of Lee know, whenever it was his part it cut away but he had a lot of lines so that’s good

Chan made this track 2-3 years ago. I'm not surprised if 3racha already plan their next year comeback track.

I definitely get a lot of the same feelings as when I listen to Voices, it's just so emotional and raw and deeply meaningful (and choreo is amazing for both ofc)

I do agree that stray kids always gives good lyrics and meaning. And their music just my cup of tea but what I didn’t realise is that their lyrics really did change me. It motivates me to be better, confidence, and a strong person than before. If I were to complain one thing abt this song, I just wish they put lyric in this MV.
