Since I knew this incident had a positive outcome, I couldn't help but think about the ground crew that just finished fixing up that runway ... only to watch a 767 drag its left engine all the way down the thing at 100 mph. But in seriousness, great job by the flight crew, tower, and everyone involved. That level of professionalism, even in a stressful situation, is inspiring to listen to.

I was a pilot for United Airlines, and flew the 767-300 for 15 years retiring at age 65 in 2015. In those 15 years, I flew into LAX many times. Kudos to both the pilots and air traffic controllers for their professionalism and calmness. I have great respect with the all of the air traffic controllers I worked with (and still do) and thought LAX ATC was some of the best. This video was just stunningly accurate, so much so that it let me relive my glory days of flying the 767 into LAX and seeing the runways at night. Thank you for bringing back fond memories. Well dome to everyone who put this together!!

That was some fantastic control to keep it rolling straight like that and minimise damage. Cool and calm from all concerned. Investigation should be interesting. Thank you 👌

I'm really struck by how the radio traffic is so calm and concise. All parties involved should be extremely proud of achieving an excellent outcome. Competence and professionalism at its finest.

The tone of the pilot's voice definitely changed after getting the confirmation that the left gear was not down. Glad that they were both OK!

Incredible control by the pilot to keep the plane from careening to the left out of control. ATC did a great job with going the extra mile to gather info for the landing.

That landing was smooth as silk. It was nice to see the ground crew and the tower going out of their way trying to get a good look at this condition condition and the pilot willing to make such a low pass a couple times just to get confirmation on what he thought was the case. It's unfortunate anyone got hurt getting out of that airplane but he must have tripped over something because that landing was far too smooth to get hurt by any movement of the airplane. Glad to hear all souls are safe.

I witnessed a similar event back in 2001 with a passenger plane. I used to work directly north of PHX a few miles. When I got off work I looked toward the airport to see a passenger airline with its wings perpendicular to the ground flying over the runway. It turns out the landing gear indicator stated that one of the gear wasn't fully down.
