I watched that post coming the whole time and thought "don't hit it, don't hit it, don't hit it!" And was still startled when we hit it.

FUN video! That little engine was working hard. Excellent video, excepting the faceplant into the post.

Would be sweet to put a locomotive CAM on both front and rear like the cab cams on model railroading locomotives or a Dash-Cab-Cam? Crazy 😜 idea.

That is some railroad, so impressive.

Ouch, that was rude, a face-plant right into that post.

It didn't feel very good in the wallet, either. That was a $1400 shot. I'm used to wider clearances.

The Climax is going to be fun on that steep grade.
@MillBrookRailroad Жыл бұрын
IMHO, nothing is fun on that steep grade. It's a lot of work to control a one car train.

@@MillBrookRailroad Nothing wrong with that! I'm interested is old narrow gauge logging railroads. They did some crazy stuff on those.

Pretty nice. Good improvment with troublesome switchback switch. Wonder if there is winter operation with snow and ice on that grade...
@garykuipers26962 жыл бұрын
Wow, that sure is a steep grade. Shady Pines needs to install close clearance signs.

Ok time for class... Why over a trestle/bridge did I see the ties spaced farther apart and what were they made of? I think I also saw longer spacing at some other points. Thanks
@MillBrookRailroad2 жыл бұрын
It is a very light railroad. The ties are spaced that far apart to save money. It is steel bar rail, so it'll handle it fine. The ties are plastic from Accutie.
@BriggsCanyon9 ай бұрын
Why is the space between the ties so great on the bridge section near the split rail fence?
@MillBrookRailroad9 ай бұрын
Heavier rail can handle a wider tie spacing.

Hello there,when are you going to start pulling up the track that you've just brought 😂😊
@MillBrookRailroad10 ай бұрын
Very soon. I had to get through a few conventions and meets first, so I'd have some help.
@nigelbilsby3826 Жыл бұрын
Would a rack and pinyin system help you with the grade, and you need to have a look at the track where it doesn't like that spot?
@MillBrookRailroad Жыл бұрын
Rack and pinion would probably help, but it's not my railroad. It would be very expensive. As for the rest of the track issues: he's done a lot of work to improve the bad spots.

Aaron what do you guys think the grade percentage is on the railroad? Also is am1320 have a live listen online?
@MillBrookRailroad2 жыл бұрын
I think the percentage is over 6 percent at its steepest. The radio station streams online at www.northcountry1320.com

And a camera derailment 😏😁 and as always a true derailment 😏 and I assume that they are building a wye with a draw bridge
@MillBrookRailroad2 жыл бұрын
I didn't want to disappoint and not have a derailment in the video. :-) Tony is building a wye with a leg under the drawbridge.
