the stadium is 114 years old, it makes more sense to build a newer stadium naerby , as much refurbishment u can do it will still be limited as the based structure itself is outdated

That railway track will be the reason as well as purely the age of OT as to why a new stadium will be built 😊

@@RysFootyParadise Man Utd's Old Trafford Stadium known as 'The Theatre of Dreams' unique in style is the Super Bowl of stadiums & is potentially The best Stadium in the country, possibly the world. The Owners were the ones who stop the Original project by using the excuse of the rail track complications. As stated previously, the design has already been laid out for completion of the stadium by original designers, to finish before the train track but the owners compromised by installed the 3rd tier cos the fans were complaining about the capacity at that time. Alls well we like to think that once the owners depart or bring in SJR and his team we can address the layout for the necessary expansion of the South stand, East & West quadrant issue ASAP because Wembley or Man City's Etihad is to far to deal with the fan base, we're sure that can be achieved with minimal fuss, going by our walk around the stadium experience by observation. Take Note: The Stadium Expansion should Not Exceed the rail track. We feel in 18 month to 2 years copying Real Madrid project with the right people it can be achieved in line with progress on the pitch! Worth a view, please share!

The way other clubs have improved and the way FFP is functioning - stadium revenue optimisation is becoming essential. Therefor expanding the south stand is the priority if they were to refurbish. Due to the train tracks and the complications it causes, to expand the south stand, and renovate the roof/cladding as you suggest, and generally tidy up the tired concrete looks throughout - it’s going to cost over £1bn. By which point, in 6 years time, the north stand will need attention again, and a further £500m thrown at it, and so on. The best option is to build a new right next to it from scratch. Spend abit more to do it properly from the ground up. Maximise fan atmosphere, experience and revenue. And maintain the clubs heritage by downsizing old Trafford for youth team use. Ineos build factories worth that cost north of £2bn all the time, it’s what they do. I think they will recognise the need for revenue optimisation and go for it. Being cheap (I.e renovate OT) is often expensive (as will need to be redone in a few years time). Manchester council will help push them to a new stadium too as it will bring in more tourists.

I’ll be honest I’ve never really watched Rugby League but aware that Old Trafford has hosted some big games here over the years 😊 The seating is tight & uncomfortable but like you said that’s the price you pay with such an old stadium. For me the only way forward is a new Tottenham Hotspur style ground on site

@RysFootyParadise Deffo. Build the best possible stadium next door. Maximise the revenue and also use to old OT site as a women's - youth - reserves stadium. So that the woman's team isn't having to trek out to Leigh sports Village for games. Turn the area round the stadium into a " sporting campus ". Make folks feel like they just walked into a special relm. Even on none game days

Yea you might be right pal, I do think with the amount of money the club has spent on transfers recently, there may have been some extra floating about to update the ground and fix what's broken. I do know the club is up to their eyeballs in debt though so maybe there's rules on what can be spent where.
