With regards to David's colleagues who put forward the "blank slate" theory, how do they explain precoded actions in all other animals that occur without being taught such as salmon spawnings, migration patterns, the knowing of edible foods, the knowing of traits that define the most attractive mating partners. Many many more that can only be assigned to genetic engineering. It's true with all animals including the human species. To be born with a blank slate is to be born severely handicapped resulting in an extremely short life.

I think the idea that women seek the man with the ability to acquire resources is somewhat of an oversimplification in terms of the psychology of these interactions. Sometimes it's just not being boring. An artist, who is particularly skilled and creative, has a mysterious quality. They can display brilliance, feelings beyond our everyday experiences, or any other experience. One who is safe, someone one can be themselves around. There's something about some connections that can go beyond animal mating strategies, though on many levels it's exactly that, in terms of initial attraction. What women want is similar on some levels, and completely different in other senses.

You're talking about exceptions. For the most part, starving artists are the least successful at finding mates, unless they happen to be very attractive. I once came across a street artist with a beautiful wife. I was surprised she would choose him but my common sense kicked in and realized that the man/artist was very good looking and in great shape.

@@Schopenhauer69You're wrong buddy. Women want men who have competence in unique fields and will sacrifice pay for happiness. You can make lots of money but if your profession is waste management and you're boring, good luck...

@@Schopenhauer69 No i didnt....The rule is women want those who are interesting and make them happy and only settle or boring guys with money as the exception. Starving artists pull more women than rich boring old men anyday. Is that clear?

How did Patriarchy derive from female selection when women didnt have the option to select mates? They were either forced, presented with a few options, or taken by force. Our ability to chose partners without interfernce from a male guardian is something new and not even possible in certain countries 😅

That’s not true. Even cavewomen chose mates. In Indegenous culture the strongest warrior would have 2-3 or more wives. This wasn’t the Fathers choice. Give yourself more credit.

The problem is that no matter how small their choice may be, it is present and creates a certain evolutionary pressure, which, again, influences their choice. (Through adultery, silent premarital relations, etc.)

@@Agamemnon-oy9qt What??? So if women had all this choice then why are there short men? Wouldn't they been bred out long ago.

@@christopherowe107 yes, the strongest warrior would get 2-3 wives...the wives were given to the man by their FATHER because the FATHER recognized the man as a strong warrior. The woman more than likely could not refused, did not matter if she wanted to marry the warrior or not. It was an expectation of her. My theory is men are hypergamous because everything hyerpergamous matches with men's nature.

@@Misty-js4vv Because women are controlled by men, that's why female mate preferences in partners are not allowed to play out to their fullest. And it is patriarchy.
