I used to live with my aunt and her ‘best friend’. I really loved their relationship with each other even when I was young and didn’t understand a thing. I always wanted to have a relationship like them bc I can feel that they love each other genuinely. I liked how they take care of each other. I thought that it’s bc they’re best friends, but one time I heard them calling each other ‘baby’ when it’s just the two of them. I just shrugged it off but as I grew up I realized that they’re more than just best friends. I am so happy and proud of them. More than my parents did-they showed me what love really and actually is. They’re happy with each other and that’s what matters the most.

I think it's insane that people really think homosexuality wasn't a thing that long ago, like human beings psychology and sexuality has somehow shifted over 60 years. There were gay people since the dawn of humankind: Ancient Romans and greeks, even before then, there are examples of homosexuality in Ancient Egyptian life... It's not just a fad 😂

Since he primerly has gay guy ships on ahs. We had literally 3 lesbian story lines on the show. Valerie Solanas and company who's main thing was hatred towards all men, Cult's main couple ivy and whatshername, Lana banana from asylum, and eilien wuornos. But there's little to no intimacy scenes with lesbians. I guess as a gay man he can write better for the gay realtionships. But with this, i started crying during the trailer, i bawled my eyes out all through the docufilm.

This was during the early 1970s. In Glasgow. I was 3 or 4 years old. Two elderly ladies, must have been in their late 70s, used to share a house next door to ours. My mum told me they were friends. I had free reign of the ground floor of their house during the afternoons. They were very welcoming with cocoa, biscuits and sweets, and used to tell me stories about their own childhoods and about the two wars. After we moved from Glasgow, and as I grew up, I realized they were much more than friends. They are the reason why, despite growing up as a Muslim is Saudia Arabia and Bangladesh, in societies which are intolerant of homosexuality, I personally have never succumbed to hate.

This reminds me of my mum’s two friends who everyone thinks are best friends. My mum is 75 and in our culture , wearing anything but your cultural dress for the older women around my mum’s age even on the regular basis is uncommon. But one of the two best friends wear pants and shirt and I have seen her flaunt blazer which is a rare sight in our culture like I said. Both of them haven’t married a conventional male figure. And one time I told my mum about the LGBTQI+ people / community and pointed maybe these two could be secretly in romantic love. My mum said ‘ there is no such thing called same sex love in our times’ I guess this is the movie that’ll answer her doubts :) Will watch it with her and pick up the conversation where we left it the last time. 🌈💚

It makes me so sad that there was a time in this country that same sex couples had to hide their relationships bc it was just generally not accepted! I’m so happy and grateful that I was raised and taught that love is love and it doesn’t make anyone any different if they are gay! I can’t wait for this! What a beautiful love story 😍

It is still like that today for some people. I perform weddings and have had many couples who did not or could not share that they were married, due to family, profession, religion/church, all kinds of reasons. I always find it sad.

I ment that it’s not as widely accepted as it is now, so that’s why I said “generally” I obviously know there are still people who don’t agree. My best friend since the 9th grade is gay and moved into my house in high school bc he was wasn’t accepted at his. I have seen and heard what close minded and ignorant people who say to him and about him.

I watched it today and omg... This is such a touching story. It's so inspiring! Honestly I wish my grandparents would still be alive. It could of helped my grandfather understand LGBTQ and my grandmother simply would of loved this! I seriously hope this can help closed minded people open up and give hope to people that things can be better and you just need to be patient. Nothing can break a true love relationship. ❤️

J K You really think not being able to kiss in public was the only bad thing for LGBT people? These two women (and the majority of LGBT people at the time) had to hide who they were in fear of how people would react. Want to be the victims? What about the 1969 Stonewall riots when the LGBT people at the Stonewall inn were beaten by the police officers. What about countries that, arrest, give life sentences, or give the death penalty to LGBT people? Do you see straight couples get physically and/or verbally abused for holding hands or kissing? No, but it happens to gay couples. Has anyone in a straight relationship ever been denied the right to be at their partners bedside when their partner has been in hospital? No they haven’t, but in the US prior to 2011 if someone in a gay couple was in hospital their partner wasn’t allowed to be at their bedside because they were not a family member or in a legal partnership. This was even if their partner was dying, they still couldn’t be there with them. Thankfully that changed in 2011. Think again and do your research before you accuse LGBT people of wanting to be the victims.

@J K this is sad that u r taking it as a joke.... Things Hv changed for US but in the middle east the LGBT people are living in a condition much much worse than any of the worst LGBT happenings in US history.... My heart goes out to the people... 🙏🙏 It's much worse in real life than u would read anywhere on the internet.. 😢😖
