This was so heartbreaking. When he told his mom, “I’ll be back.” How many parents heard that phrase that day, but still ended up waiting months to receive their child. As a mother, I can’t, nor do I want to experience such heartache. My heart broke for them in 2014 and still breaks for them today.

I know about the Sewol tradegy back then, but news about it is inconsistent that's why I don't have that much knowledge about it. 2 days ago I just found out the video of the 2 victims of sewol named Park Suhyun & Kim Donghyup . I cried as I watched these boys. They were joking around but I know deep inside these students are afraid , If I could only jump into the video and save them. Since then, I've been searching video's and articles about the incident. these is devastating I've been crying everytime I saw their parents burst into tears shouting for justice & truth. I want to hug them so badly that it breaks my heart. Government and Media did not help. Incompetence, negligence & cowardness in the situation and greed. these reasons makes me mad. Because of these, life of innocent students was taken away from their love ones and There are still 9 bodies lying into the cold sea water. I may not be Korean, but I want to support these family seeking for truth and justice. watching mom remember her interactions with her son being related to certain objects, then transitioning into those breaks where he leaves the room, and finally seeing her hold the items with a wistful look on her face before you realize that she's having flashbacks is truly heartbreaking. looking at the clips of parents unpacking from the incident, you know they felt a wide range of emotions like this as well. beautiful short film. :( these poor kids, the other passengers...they all deserved a chance to survive.

Whenever my life gets hard and lost my will to live, I come here and watch this. Those who passed away in Sewol tragedy. They actually saved me and they were just like telling me to keep living and survive cuz they lost their chance to live because of those irresponsible adults. And, when I look at how parents feel when they lose their child, my parents would feel the same if I disappear from this world.

I am Korean living in Montana with my American husband and 3-year-old daughter. When this ferry incident happened we were in Korea, I couldn't believe it when I saw the only small portion of ship above the sea on TV. I think none of Korean people thought the incident turned to such tragedy just like the students inside the ship did. At the beginning I thought 21C something special gadgets or special forces will save all of them. But the truth is they didn't do nothing. The S. Korean government at that time and the coast guard did nothing and even worse they obstructed others help. Now the corrupt government is gone. Yet many people have been trying to dig out the truth. Why the government, coast guard, Korean national security agency kept telling lies. Why there were so many suspicious death around this incident. Why the ship was sunken at first? Why they didn't do nothing.....I am still crying and still keep watching clips relating to this incident. Until I got all the answers, I will never stop! R.I.P beautiful souls.

as only this year I discovered this sewol ferry tragedy, because back then I don't have a phone..when I read some of the korean celeb posted their remembering about the SFT 3rd anniv. at IG. I've search all along the youtube of what is really happened during that time, and it made me cry, specially whe i've watched the videos of the 2 student before the ferry totally sink. They look so brave during that time not knowing that it would be their last moment.. It is so sad and I feel very dissapointed to their government and also to the media. Why they are covering the truth??😢😢

So sad. Specially for those parents who only had one child... parents who invested so much love and time and life into their children...and are now too old to have another one. So sad. Sending them love and light right now...and always.

I watched Black, a kdrama series where a father said to Black that Yes we have the so called widow, which is a lost of husband/wife. Yes we have the orphan, who lost their parents. I was 12 back then so i didn't really care about the news and didn't really know anything about this tragedy.It's extremely devestating to know that those students died just because they were obeying what people told them to do,which was staying inside.They KNEW the students would die and they let them die in pain.I'm in tears right now,my deepest condolences to the families of the victims...Also this short film was amazing.Thank you so much.

the feelings of their parents who lost a child are indeed sad. I can feel that feeling too. The saddest thing is when I see her mother waiting for her child to come home every day.

I cried so hard knowing these beautiful innocent children lost their lives in such a negligent way. It was truly avoidable and many could have been saved if authorities hadn't been so self serving, inept and corrupt. Through the many documentaries and footage that i've watched what shattered my heart the most was watching the parents and families of the childrenbegging and pleading with authorities to save their children and being ignored or called money grabbers. I can not even imagine how soul crushing it would have been to be at that dock. Seeing the ferry sinking slowly in front of your eyes and not one person in authority doing anything to get your precious child off the ship before it was too late and it actually sank completely. I truly hope one day the full truth will finally be given to all the grieving families . My heart goes out to anyone who lost a loved one to this tragedy

This broke my heart in two these poor children and other people who passed didn’t even get the chance to grow up they were just kids and even some teachers just trying to go on a field trip when they overloaded the ferry and took to much of a sharp turn and that’s when the tragedy happened everyone who knew someone on that ferry had their entire world turned upside and I feel so sorry no one deserves to lose a child young and all these people lost there’s for something that wasn’t their fault. I hope all the families affected are doing well even if it’s just by a little bit a little bit of wellness is better then nothing

I’M CRYING! :(( it’s almost the 6th anniversary of the sewol ferry tragedy. my heart is shattering watching the mother and dong-hyun. i’m getting really emotional, she wished for him to come back. this wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the “rules” the crew gave out. “i’ll be back..”, “come back soon.” were probably the words the people who left for the ferry said while their parents wait for them. those words will forever haunt me, every time i hear someone say those words, i think to myself, *“will they really come back? i really hope so.. please come back..”* 🎗

I can't imagine that every year people must imagine their child's face 😣, the way their child eats, temperament, what their child likes (hobby)

Tragedy happens and we all have to die someday but those kids, those 305 souls didn't have to die that day and that way. They had more than enough time to save them, they had enough time to run to the deck and be rescued. They had full faith they were gonna get rescued and waited like they were told to. But the authorities failed them. The government lied to the public stating rescue operation is going on at full force but when the parents hired a fishing boat and went to the site, mere 2 navy boats were just circling idly around the area. This is so heartbreaking on so many levels. And it took the government 3 bloody years to get that ferry out of the water.

It will be 5yrs in a couple of days 🎗🎗🎗

My heart just broke. I wish I had the power to do something, or to had been there and been able to save them all. I think the worst part it's not that the ferry sank, you know, accidents are something we can't control, but what disgusts me the most is that the SK government declined any form of help from other countries, for the sake of their dignity. They didn't want anyone to know that they weren't or aren't prepared nor have the required equipment for this kind of situation. Even other people tried to help, but they were accused of obstruction. So many lives could have been saved, so many families wouldn't have been destroyed and devastated. My heart goes out to the victims (unfortunately, of something that could have been avoided) and their families.

I heard about this today for the first time because yes, the media does not help at all. Here in germany the media loves to tell me that a dog got lost or some shit like that. Nothing that really matters, the truth stays hidden behind our so-goody-life. What happened there is a nightmare and in times of iphones and messages, its so horrible easy to write a last mail to the loved ones, it shatters my heart. Its just unbelievable to understand, how they felt, what they thought... I try to imagine and its just the worst nightmare a human can have... and seeing people who try to crash the window while the dark water rises above them... i still wish all the best to the suffering families.

You lose a child.. what's more painful is that.. he/she is the only child and you as a single mom/dad is alone now...now every inch of the house reminds you of your child
