It makes me really sad that they were drowning, looking out the windows, hoping for the adults to find and save them but that would be the last time they would see the world again.

I was the same age as these students when I heard about the ferry sinking. I was 16, and now I'm 21. This has stuck with me for five years, and it hurts. To my birthday twin, one of the victims: Kim Ara- I hope you're doing well in heaven. I will continue to remember you, all of you. 💜

I watched a video that one of the students in Class 4 recorded. It was with Slava, Suhyeon, and Sungho among the people who's names I constantly heard. Suhyeon was recording and repeatedly saying that he didn't want to die and that he loved his mom and dad. At first him and his friends were joking about it, but as the situation became more clearly concerning, Suhyeon was almost crying, if not actually crying. When I saw their names I got goosebumps because I literally just watched their final moments.

🎗I watched too many videos about the late students when it happened that I felt close to them, so I said out loud each names of the victims, my way to pay tribute to those poor teenagers who had to die young and would never grow... the others victims too who also left their family forever without having the chance to say goodbye properly... 🎗💛

I saw down on the comment sections that people were confused about the people running with the yellow face masks on & my take on it is that the people running with the masks symbolize the students/adults who unfortunately did not make it out of the sewol ferry alive. As the family members on the video are expressing how they feel about the missing presence of their loved ones they show a clip of “their” deceased loved one running away as a way to show that they are free & no longer trapped in the boat wondering if their bodies will ever be found. Idk that’s just how I saw it when I watched the videos & it honestly broke my heart & sent shivers down my spine. Never forget 041614 🎗🎗🎗🎗

The girl in the beginning is Yeeun Yu. I read her memorial, and it states ''Yeeun was a fraternal twin; she was the smaller of the two, and they both had different personalities. She also had two other sisters. Yeeun's childhood was quiet and peaceful. She was shy, but on stage she burned with a fiery passion. Her dream was to become a musical actor. She had been taking voice lessons and was very proud. Everyone who knew her was well aware that she was destined to be a star. '' The boy is Hyeonjin Im. His memorial states ''Hyeonjin was a creative, athletic boy. He loved to play soccer and baseball, and his dream was to be an interior designer. He was a filial son as well, having saved up enough money to buy his parents a new microwave and gas cooker. '' I really didn't find any info about the others..

This is chilling- not just the voices speaking, the visuals, the whole situation itself... if you saw the actual footage taken by high school students before the full sink that they didn't believe they were going to die and they invested all their trust in the captain. The life jackets were old, made in 1994, and there weren't enough of them. The captain saved himself first, proper instructions weren't given, the maritime police didn't have enough people out and though there were others out at sea, the Korean Government themselves told them not to assist. And then on the news they just cover it up, saying that everyone survived. At least 75 percent died. It's horrible.

Only 172 people out of 476 survived 🥺😔 and those people have so much trauma because they believed in someone of such high power who was supposed to help in a time of trouble. ended up taking most of their friends away from not caring. Those high school students will have to live knowing that their leader didn’t help them when they really needed him. This will forever break my heart

Inside the ship the kids were joking around and thought they would be saved since they were wearing life jackets and the captain said they would jump but the captain got out while the kids were trapped there.. They even tried breaking the windows 😭

This is really heart breaking. Every time I watch videos about the sewol accident, I am crying non stop. This would never happen IF they were not asked to stay in their rooms.💔😭😭

It hurts me a lot watching this vids or any related videos. I can't imagine how the families feel. Those parents who lost their only child really hurts me. Everything about sewol hurts me. Their previous president makes me angry and their government. They have 2 hrs to save those people. If only they did their best, those children could still do their dreams. I stayed quiet for 5 years... to my "sister" that I met online... how are you? Where are you? I miss you so bad. You promised me that we'll see each other for the first time, right? You promised me you'll be out of the ferry, right? You promised me you'll survive.... you said everything will be alright. You said you'll be okay. Why so sudden? Come back soon eonnie, okay? this absolute terrible tragedy happened 5 years ago, all the students on the ferry, all those young students, who still had potential in their lives, to do something, get a job, maybe be an idol or be an owner of a little coffee shop. It’s so sad and horrible what these families had to go through when they found out. The students were so excited to be on a very big trip to an island, but it was all unexpected, it’s so so sad like I hope these students rest very well in peace. 💛🎗

Everything about sewol ferry makes my heart aches a lot. The students have the same age as I and that makes me even more sad, they could have been just like me now if they weren’t told to stay in their cabins. The students last video and text messages made an impact to me that I’m gonna try to live a successful life not just for myself but to them also. I really hope their families are well and continue fighting now 🎗🎗🎗 never forget (04/16/14)

I was never aware of this tragedy until now and my heart is broken for all the families and victims of this devastating tragedy. I have been watching videos about the Sewol incident and I'm crying so hard. I never knew or met any of the victim or their families but I could feel their pain and sadness. I hope all the people died that day will rest in peace and enjoying the presence of our Lord in the heaven. My Prayers are with you.

That crushing feeling of a parent burying their child is just unimaginable. And to think some of these parents wouldn't even have a body to bury but only a memory of those who they lost. 🎗rest now beautiful souls. it makes me so sad because they all have dreams and hopes but it was taken away from them. i hope they’re peaceful now with God. I may not be a Korean, but this has so much lessons to learn, love your loved ones before it’s too late. Tell them and appreciate them while they’re alive. Bro if only the government reached out to every parent immediately and told them to go save their children or even called upon all citizens around the area I swear everyone would have went and saved these kids they had plenty of time to save them but they chose to let them die man I'm so fkng disgusted and upset

They did that. But then they held the parents back and forbid anything without „proper“ planning. There was time, but the captain just left and never said anything. 90 minutes. Everyone couldve been saved.

I started watching videos yesterday about the tragedy. All videos that I can watch on youtube about it. I can't sleep, and their voices keeps popping up on my head. The way how they laugh and cheered each other up that everything will be okay and they will be saved. Their last moments, how hard must it be for them to realize that they're going to die and no one is coming to save them. And they just followed the elder's instructions and they were just obedient. But they end up dying. I hope your in a happy place now, in God's arms. 😭💔

I try and avoid videos like this lately because my heart hurts so much for people who have had to survive through such a tragic loss of life... I don’t know how I could carry on living if that had been my brother or my sister. Just like the families in this video, I would give up everything in the world to get them back. I would happily trade places! This video was very well done, it touched my heart and I can only hope that this never, ever happens again. As for the people responsible- I hope you rot for eternity.

They never lived their lives normally after the tragedy.. it's like they are asking themselves.. *why did I survived while my friends died* their names are hidden from the media.. most of them went to live in different countries. And a few of them attempted suicide. The remaining students.. live their lives as loners whose afraid of people.. So basically. They're all damaged by the past..

There's so much the sewol tragedy takes with it into the depth of the sea, hopes;dreams;joy;souls........ It tortures the lives and hearts of the victim's family and the lost souls wandering helplessly. I wish they all find their peace somehow, someday. 🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️

I knew about this tragedy before but I just didn’t understand or realize why it was truly a devastating and unfortunate incident until a few days ago. I watched so many related videos and documentaries. I watched the final video clips by some of the late students. Your video made realize even more about the value of life and time. Thank you 💕 I hope all of the people on board Sewol, are all in a better place now without guilt or worries🎗RIP🎗

That tragedy was 100% preventable. I honestly believe the Government/Military was somehow involved. Sadly, we will never know the entire truth. Those kids and their families deserve Justice. It only takes one person to do the right thing, and blow the whistle.

I am from America I rember hearing about this I was on my senior year of high school and my heart melted. I told my mom it’s not fair we are alive and they passed. My heart goes out to the family if I could I would hug the parents if I could.🎗❤️🎗❤️🎗❤️🎗

I still clearly remember that day when I was watching Arrirang and it showed this as a flash news . And slowly there were more fatality . They were scholl student mostly . The fact that they endured so much fear , pain during the last phase of their life is so painful . It must’ve been difficult , I can’t imagine what they went through . They had whole their life ahead , all their dreams , their family friends but they didn’t make it . I hope the family are doing okay even though a part of them will always miss their lost ones. I hope all the people who died are somewhere smiling and watching their loved one. This still hurts to watch even after all these years .

I spend a lot of time watching true crime, mysteries, tragedies, etc. Morbid curiosity I suppose, or the desire to understand that which is hard to fathom. I have never been moved by something as I was when I first discovered this story. The pain this brought me... I cannot even imagine how those directly impacted must be feeling. My heart truly goes out to them. May they someday be able to find peace 💛 I hope for that.
