It was a smoky, also known as foggy, drive through Cades Cove on the morning of November 5, 2021.

Thank you for making this video and sharing it. I've done some traveling in my 83 years, but I do believe this is the prettiest drive on Earth! God's artwork! Thank you again for giving us a tour.

That makes me so happy to hear those kind words. Cades Cove is one of the most beautiful places on Earth that I have visited so far. Thanks for watching my video.

Was fun driving through the cove with you. Love going there. Does make it hard to see when foggy. Thanks for sharing.

It was very hard to see through the fog. We couldn’t even see where the mountains were for a very long time. It started clearing out right before we left. Even though we couldn’t see much, I liked how it looked. Thanks for watching!

Went there once. There were so many people there that it took a total of 4 hours to drive through. Cars were at a crawl. But it was stunning!

That has happened to us as well a lot over the years. We try to be there around sunrise now so we can get ahead of everyone, but still enjoy the beauty of Cades Cove.

It’s one of my favorite places as well. I try to visit there every time I’m in the area too. I have made several videos there the last couple of years, but this is my most popular one. Thanks for watching!

They should have it set up where people park and take a tram type ride though the cove where you can get on and off. All these cars and the traffic really distract from the experience of cades cove
@TravelingtheSoutheast
@TravelingtheSoutheast 2 жыл бұрын
Some people do need to do that, but the parking spaces don’t exist to hold such a large amount of people. If they did have trams, then I’m fairly certain that the horse pasture would become the parking lot, and to me, that would take away from the beauty of Cades Cove. The only other option would be to turn the festival area in Townsend into a parking area, and take the people up to Cades Cove from there.

@@TravelingtheSoutheast Yeah, parking would be an issue. Traffic is one now though. Ive seen it much worse than depicted in the video.

@@yarply12 The reason the traffic isn’t bad in the video is because I try to get there around the time they open. I can usually avoid the crowds if I go early. I have been in those hour long bear jams. I have been behind the people that sit for 30 minutes looking at deer and turkeys. I have been in front of the impatient people laying down on their horns because they are in a hurry, but I can’t move because I’m stuck as well. I don’t know if the traffic would be better or worse if they at least put two lanes in for traffic. I know that everyone wants to see the wildlife when they visit, but if they are blocking the road, they are preventing everyone else that is visiting the same opportunity as they have.

If U look up Jim Grey, Majestic, he has a print, of this area, I had to have one after my drive back in the 90's.

I looked him up. His work is definitely beautiful. We met an artist at the Townsend Visitor Center several years ago that was selling their artwork of Cades Cove. We bought several small prints, but I can’t remember his name right now.

I just read about that place the other day when the railroad museum shared it on their Facebook page. I’m going to try to go there when I visit in the fall.
