That’s awesome! Mountain goats are so fun to see and a rare treat. I don’t have any tattoo’s but one day I’d like to get one. Yeah, I love Oregon and am grateful to have spent so much time there. Most NoBo’s are pressing hard at that point and don’t really get to experience it. Plus, the mosquitoes are awful that time of year! I’m glad you got to see Sisters! ✌️

Yeah, it was quite the blow! I knew there were going to be fires and closures. I was prepared to skip as much trail as required! But, I never considered that an entire state, over half the trail would close! Kudos though to those who still finished. I know a few who waited it out and jumped around A TON. They managed to make the thru still happen. ✌️

@@RyanKodakBrown lots of jumping around. Ugh the reality of the pct unfortunately, those fires are real. We felt so bad for those who got closed down at the WA boarder, and the Sobo closures.., hope to see some more adventures from you guys as we approach hiking season! ✌️💚

That section is beautiful walking past Mt. Jefferson.... It's definitely worth going back for. Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm glad I've had so long away from the footage to process it all! Ilse and I didn't even make it to Ashland like we hoped. Three feet of snow fell on Crater Lake as we were heading in to it! Are you thinking about another thruhike at some point?

@@RyanKodakBrown I secured a permit for a SOBO PCT hike this summer starting July 1, but I'm not yet sure how much hiking I can reasonably do this year with my other commitments. I'll make a decision closer to the start date and cancel the permit if it doesn't work out for this summer.

Hello! You guessed it! I shoot on a Sony A7C. I carried the 20mm f1.8 with the 50mm f2.5 but I also add the Tamron 70-180mm f2.8 lens on occision ( carried all three on a thruhike of the GDT this past fall). The A7C is a killer camera for hiking (barely bigger than the 6600 but full-frame) but Sony's APSC camera's are great too! I am looking to buy a zv-e10 this spring for Cinnamon to use and for a second camera. It might be worth looking into in place of the 6600... Only real downside, imo, to the zv-e10 is the lack of weather sealing but it's half the price! Being hikers, it's a major consideration. It would have to be babied more, for sure, but it half the price.... Hahaha. I could go on forever talking about cameras. Feel free to email me if you want to talk more: ryankodakbrown@gmail.com

@@RyanKodakBrown thanks for the info man! I should have realized you are carrying multiple lenses, but I don’t think I’m hardcore enough for that haha. Zv-e10 is definitely interesting too, especially since the mic is so much better than the other alphas I might not feel the need to carry an external one.

@@waguar Hahahah! Yeah, I'm a little intense when it comes to my camera gear - even carrying a full-sized tripod most of the time! With the deadcat on something like the zv-e10, it might suffice; though, that is one thing I will ALWAYS carry. Sound is so important. But, if you're not planning to talk to the camera much or interview anyone, you can certainly do without. As for lenses, one would certainly be easier! What would be your preference? A small prime or a zoom? 35mm is a killer focal length for a one and done.... A small zoom will not do so well in lowlight and a fast one is heavier! Those Tamrons are mighty fine though.... Hahahaha. Too many choices!

@@RyanKodakBrown too many choices is exactly the problem! But I have a couple months before leaving still so I have some time to figure it out. I think my goal is to get as much good content as I can out of a small body, so I am really trying to stick with a small body, one lens, and as little extra stuff as possible. E.g. A6600 over A6400 simply because of the bigger battery and not having to worry so much about that, or ZV-E10 over A6x00 to not have to worry about a microphone, or A6x00 over A7C because the lenses are smaller, etc. But then as you say the ZV-E10 mic might still not be enough, and using a zoom lens is a compromise. But I have a couple months before leaving still so I have some time to figure it out

@@waguar That's awesome. It sounds like you know what you want and what your priorities are. I find that, in the end, it doesn't really matter. I enjoy the hell out the adventures and get TONS of beautiful content (more than I can even use)! Because, everything out there is beautiful! The equipment doesn't even matter because it is ALL pretty damn good these days! It's all about how I use what I have (and actually making something with it afterwards😂). ✌ Are you leaning zoom or prime!?
