Your two-month journey across the Arctic looked amazing, even with the challenges. Crossing the Arctic Circle, hiking the Lofoten Traverse, and exploring Sweden’s Kungsleden - what an adventure! The video turned out great too - I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing! Cheers, Simon - Tales From Abroad

I love that perspective, "I'm choosing to be here. I'm doing what I love. The bad times will pass. The roads will dry out, and we'll be cruising again." Both of you are so positive and wonderful with each other. What stunning, breathtaking views! ❤🧡💛💚

Why do you need a pass to hike?
@RyanKodakBrownКүн бұрын
It’s more that you need passes, permits, to camp and that’s mostly in the big parks like Banff and Jasper, etc. It’s because the trails in these places are incredibly popular and they need to limit human impact so the places don’t end up destroyed. It’s the same in the USA.

Yes, plans are meant to be changed, if not completely abandoned altogether! In my experience, if you travel in the back-country, changing plans can be a weekly, if not daily, part of your life. You demonstrated lots of flexibility, rolled with the punches and had a great time. That makes it easier to get through life happily. Glad you're embracing life together and making great memories. Thanks for making this video and sharing those moments and scenery! And WOW! Those bugs were insane!

Glad you liked it! Indeed! Goals are important but so is spontaneity and going with flow when the situation calls for it. Mostly, we were just grateful to be there experiencing it all. ✌️P.S. We really like your country!

A beautiful film by two lovely people. Reminds me of my 1977 trip from Bergen to Mo i Rana to Stockholm in an 850cc Mini. We accidentally bought whale meat, because "hval biff" was the cheapest meat in the store. Since we'd bought and cooked it, before discovering what it was, we ate the fishy lumps with regret.
@RyanKodakBrown6 күн бұрын
Oh no!!! We only ate some dried whale meat. It wasn’t my favorite thing but edible…. Sounds like an awesome journey though!

Great video, that showed a fair representation to how it is up here in the north of Scandinavia! I love your attitude to life and what it brings on daily basis, keep up the positive approach and you will get a great life! Sorry for the bugs, they are a menice, that's why i hike later in the season when thereä's been a couple of nights below freezing, and the colours in the autumn is so beautiful, during summer everything is green (which is nice), but in the autumn there's red yelliow green and the air feels even cleaner, hope you can come back in mid / late august - beginning of september some year.
@RyanKodakBrown7 күн бұрын
The bugs really are a menace! But, as my wife just told a friend, it’s their (your?!) home not ours! Attitude really is everything. Not sure how a pessimist could handle adventures like these. There’s often too much opportunity for complaints! 😂. We’d love to return. Sometimes we talk of a winter hike even. I’m sure it would be difficult but so beautiful!
@jan_nilsson6 күн бұрын
@@RyanKodakBrown During winter there's no bugs :D Sadly it's dark around the clock so there's not much you see, that's from okt/nov to feb, from march to may it's really nice, lots of snow, but light during the days and not extremely cold, myself prefer autumn tho.

I always wanted to know how people get the documentary awards, what is the process? do i need to upload or submit it somewhere or it just been found in youtube by the right people? BTW great work!
@RyanKodakBrown21 күн бұрын
Thank you! You need to submit to film festivals like Banff Mountain Festival (big one for adventure) or the hordes of smaller festivals for whatever your niche. They typically cost money, anywhere from $10-$100+

Finally took a look at the URL you sent me so long back. You're providing me what I want most from these videos, photos of the trail itself. So far I have only seen this one, but it was wonderful. Who am I? I picked you up near Silver City, NM, and took you back to where the CDT intersects with US180. Myself I am back in the Philippines. Ugh! I hope your CDT trek came out well.
@RyanKodakBrown25 күн бұрын
I’m glad you’re enjoying the trail images! I think you may have me confused with someone else? I’ve never hiked the CDT, only a small section a while back but I don’t think I had to hitch then.

What an amazing first bikepacking adventure for Ilse! 🚴♀ The Montanas Vacias route in Spain looks absolutely stunning, and it's inspiring to see her tackle such a challenging journey. Dealing with mud, snow, and running out of food must have been tough, but the experiences and the beauty of the remote Spanish wilderness clearly made it all worthwhile. It's wonderful to see the culture and scenery captured so beautifully. Great job, and thanks for sharing this incredible adventure! 🌄🇪🇸
