This is the Star Trek I remember. Maybe it's a different cast, production, music... But the heart and soul of what made me love Star Trek is here. I think this is something that Paramount has lost.

Agreed 100%. Imagine starting off the new series of movies with the destruction of Vulcan. Paramount ruined everything that made Star Trek special and turned it into a mess!

The use of lighting in this episode was EXCELLENT. TOS Trek sets really shine (literally) with the flood lights turned down, it lets the buttons and screens really stand out... this was done to great effect in "Mirror Darkly", and proves that TOS sets can look great, engaging, and modern. Just kill about 50% of the overhead lights. In the hallways, so many buttons were visible, spotlights on the conduits, etc, the lighting took this to the next level. No need to match TOS ultra bright lighting meant for 19" low res CRTs, this new style should be the standard; already giving us updated designs, aspect ratio, don't hesitate to resist that "ultra bright, no shadows" TOS lighting. This looks SO GOOD, and very expensive. Easily at least the match, or better than, most official network Star Trek shows. And the acting is also VERY GOOD. Please keep up the great work, this is amazing work, can't thank you enough for the quality Trek you're creating!

Wow! I am truly amazed by what you did here. This is a wonderful story keeping with the best traditions of the Star Trek saga. Once again you presented a wonderful story that has depth and substance. You touched our hearts. The production was amazing. The sets are incredible. Let me share a thought with you. Gene Roddenberry was ahead of his time. Much in the same way George Lucas was with his creation. My thought is this. Star Trek TOS lasted for three years. You know the behind-the-scenes story better than I do. The last season was lacking, in some stories, due to management, as you know. Later, Star Trek TNG came around. That franchise prospered due to many reasons. They managed to create 7 seasons. That is an excellent achievement. You have emulated many of them. _If TOS had been produced by Avalon I have no doubt Star Trek would have had at least ten seasons._ I mean that sincerely. You are on a bold adventure! I hope that you continue to grow as you have in a relatively short time. Whatever your formula is: keep it! Don't compromise your standards, your creativity and your vision! If I were a very wealthy man I would support you! But, alas, I am approaching my seventh decade! I live an a slim income! (Sorry). Keep using the writing devices that Gene created to advance great stories: time shifts, the transporter, and all the others! Keep the style of telling a story AND edifying us. Unfortunately Hollywood is forgetting that. They think that merely entertaining is enough. It isn't. Study Serling and Joseph de Stefano of Outer Limits fame. They had great writing formulas! Treating the classics is always a sure bet! Thank you again! As Darth Vader would say: "Impressive".

I love how he saves the universe and his offspring so that he can return back to 1985 again. The Academy Award should go to Michael J. Fox for this performance. "Whoopsie Daisey !! That's not M.J. This story brought me to tears. I've lost two children to miscarriage, so I understand that indescribable pain more than most. The film was simply done, yet incredibly powerful at the same time. Now, on a lighter note, I need to know a few things... First, how and when did Mason have a "subspace" wife?! Who was Franklin to Archer? And now that they're four years in the future (convenient but useful trope to bring back dead characters), what ship will they end up on? Will it be the Excalibur and will they keep her intact more than Ramirez did (no offense, Lance!)? Will we get to learn where Ramirez and Beck are now? And it's interesting that you've included Garth in this in your universe, this must be sometime before he went cuckoo and ended up on that prison planet... if, in the Avalon universe, he ever did. I knew it would be some kind of bubble universe they were in, but I love how you made the place subspace itself, with time, space, energy, and thought combining to create subspace itself. I already can't wait until the next film to see some of these questions answered. Well done, Tyler, Victoria, Josh, and team.
@tydunivan3 жыл бұрын
It’s mentioned in Ghost Ship that Mason did a subspace (long distance) marriage. They were together on the Saladin before Mason transferred to the Oberth, as mentioned in Demons.
