Law School Week in My Life Vlog: A stressful + busy week of readings, outlining and figuring out my life
Hi Everyone!
Okay first of all, THANK YOU for 1000 subscribers!! I woke up this morning to see that I hit 1k and it's honestly put me in such a good mood. I started this channel as a quarantine project back in June and I can't believe 1000 of you want to watch me wade through life. I hope you guys enjoy the vlog, the energy in it is definitely stressful. Law school is hard but at least my campus is pretty?? I go into how I'm outlining/studying for exams as well as what the 1L job search is like for me!

When I was putting together my first legal resume, I lumped together all of my work and leadership experience- it made it look a little beef-ier and made me feel better! I hope your semester is going alright. Doing 1L like this is... incredibly difficult. Sending you lots of good thoughts.

@@LegallyCaroline i'd just recommend getting it sooner so that you can get used to the wowrkflow of multiple desktops and think about how you want to arrange outlines and stuff. that way when you're testing, you're not losing seconds on adjusting workflow.

Just a question, for your day-to-day readings for classes I know you must take notes/outlines but do you memorize the info from the case? Or do you sort of retain material when the prof talks about it and then understand more as the semester goes on? Are you allowed to go back to your notes/outlines if cold called? On exams are you allowed to bring outlines with you?

You can definitely refer to your notes/outlines during both class during a cold call and during exams! Law school exams are open-book! I’ll be doing a full video explaining them more. But I try my best to understanding readings before class and the prof helps me further understand it and ingrain it!

Do your glasses fog up with your mask?? I’ve been wearing contacts since March (I broke my glasses during quarantine 😭) so i haven’t had to wear glasses with a mask yet and I’m getting a new pair tomorrow!

I’ve found that it’s not too much of an issue unless it’s humid outside! When it does fog up, the problem is ALWAYS the nose part of the mask. As long as there’s a tight seal on the top, I’m fine :)

if you mean the white turtleneck one, it's from club monaco! :) if you mean the white top with like the fur collar, it's from shein! and the white crewneck you can kinda see is from the m den, which is like michigan's merch/apparel store

I was curious, why did you decide to go to law school in the US? Since we do have law schools in Canada I've wondered what made you pick

That’s a great question! I made a video on my law school decision process and it’s on my channel but I’ll also address this in my Q&A! :) But essentially, If I stayed in Canada, I would go to UofToronto for law school and I didn't want to spend my whole life in Toronto, also the opportunities/earning potential of T10 American law school are unparalleled

What type of law major or J.D. are you pursuing? International Law?

as far as I know, there aren't really majors for JDs, you take whatever classes you want! I'm interested in international arbitration/law but still super open. I'll answer this more in-depth in my Q&A!
