Or just appearing inside him telefrag-style. There's another comment that suggests that they might have written a script with cool wishmurders, and then found they couldn't afford the cool wishmurders and replaced them with terrible, not-very-sense-making wishmurders, but didn't change the actual wishes. If true, and I'd believe it, I would utterly believe that originally that was the result of this particular wish, and we're seeing the terrible replacement.

From your summary it looks like they planed the deaths in such a way to actually make sense in terms of how the wishes are framed, but each time went for a cheaper and lazier option instead, without revising the script. The archive scene where the djin doesn't take the files seems like the biggest indicator.
@fy8798
@fy8798 4 жыл бұрын
Had the exact same thought watching this. They all seem like cheaper versions (or downright silly versions, like the mouse one) of wishes that all practically scream for fairly obvious ways to make it bad. Be anywhere else? She's now in the middle of a volcano about to erupt. Or the sun. Or Venus. Or space. Or right in front of a car! Not... a cage of mice that are rats that immediately eat her face??

I mean he could have pushed past her and taken the files then locked her in a burning room, and it would have made sense and would have been cheaper to film because you wouldn't need to film someone on fire. It's a movie so lazy that it makes it harder on itself

The first thing I thought was that the movie was like a videogame that bugged out: the records were supposed to go up in flames, but instead a bug occurred and only the lady did. But for what concerns the game, the records have effectively been destroyed which is why the Wishmaster can't interact with them.

No, seriously, submarine movies are inherently awesome, and depending on whether or not you actually end up having to shoot on water, they can be made relatively inexpensively. That would have been amazing. Instead, we'll always have Wishmaster 3.

@JohnnyTheWolf yeah but think of the potential of the djinn playing something small and crawly that lurks in darkened corners granting wishes. the crew won't know _why_ all this messed up stuff is happening just that it seems random. it could be a countdown between figuring out what connects everyone and the rapidly dwindling crew
@technopoptart
@technopoptart 4 жыл бұрын
@JohnnyTheWolf "i wish i wasn't on this sub" boom! dude is teleported outside the sub and the body is crushed like a tin can. "i wish tony would stop serving stew" boom! tony slips while cutting veg and ends up losing his fingers in the soup, he bleeds out all over the kitchen until he dies and several packages are wasted for blood contamination so the crew goes on heavily reduced rations. "i am so on edge, i wish i didn't have to see another member of the crew go out like that" boom! eyes explode. as the bits get left around and the stink of death grows there becomes a bug problem(maybe there were one or two at the beginning of the movie) "i wish there weren't roaches all over the place" boom! they all coalesce into a single mass and crawl up the dude and into his mouth so he is filled and swells up with a writhing wriggling mass under the skin moving of it's own volition you can be excessively spectacular in a small space if you focus it in and in a small space like a sub each wish can compact the woes of the crew so they end up making more risky and exploitable wishes
@WikiSorcerer
@WikiSorcerer 3 жыл бұрын
If he really wished for women to be "into him", I would imagine that the guy would explode and out comes two beautiful women that are themselves djinn, the Djinn using wishes as a method of releasing his brethren (and sistren) from whatever Hell Dimension they're trapped in one at a time. It could be like Hellraiser 3, where every-time the killer kills someone, it just spawns another invincible killer that serves them.

I love that the people who made the movie imagined that if you put your head into a cage with a bunch of fancy rats they'd eat your eyes out for fun. Like there's an extra step before it becomes the 1984 torture (putting the rats in a life threatening situation where the only way out is thru you) and that step is what makes it truly terrifying. I used to stick my head into my pet rats' cage all the time and they just sniffled my ears and played with my hair.

@kato093
@kato093 10 ай бұрын
@@paultapping9510there is nothing political about a story with an empire lead by cartoonishly evil emperor that has an evil masked right hand man that looks like Darth Vader (nice name btw), with an army of clones that are all dressed identical and a rag tag group of people that are just trying to stop them. YOU are injecting politics by adding needless terms like "fascistic, oppressed and marginalized". There is nothing saying the empire is fascistic. It's just a bad guy that wants to rule the galaxy and has an army. It's very simple. And the good guys aren't marginalized or oppressed, they are hunted down because they attacked the empire. Hell, princess Leia was a rich princess. Han solo was a criminal. Luke was just poor living on a shit planet. Star wars wasn't political at all. It didn't make any parallels with any real world events or real political groups. It simply had a bad guy, an emperor, and the good guys. The new star wars movies reflect your vomit of political words

Looking forward to Scaredy Cat's thoughts on the fourth and final Wishmaster film, "The Prophecy Fullfilled," (which is yet another misleading title because no, it isn't). In that one, Djinn #3 (John Novak) actually falls for the woman who awoke him, Lisa, and wants her as his second-in-command. No, I didn't watch it, I simply looked it up because I knew of its existence and wow, it sure sounds...interesting, to say the least XD.

I'm gonna be honest , I always viewed each movie had its own djinn , even 1 and 2 which is why they were in different statues. I just simply assumed it was it implied there was a race of them and a common practice was the imprisonment spell used to trap them inside a fire opal and then hide that opal inside a "holy" statue for double protection . Each movie had a different object an opal was trapped inside of and each djinn had different limits to their power. Just i have to imagine that even if they played by the same actor at different points it's just "a movie thing" and ignore it. Like I even imagine their rules are different to what they need to end the world kinda adds to them being different entities. But then again these are just head canon things to help me enjoy the movies more

Suggestion: if the professor phrased “I want them to be really into me” (haven’t seen the movie so don’t know the phrasing) the girls could try to literally claw their way into his body to try to crawl into and under his skin. If he said “I want them to be obsessed with me” they could fight over him each one trying to pull him away from the other til he’s torn apart. Both are gory (not exactly new for earlier entries in the series) and would be way more inventive.

Wonderfully done. You just made my “I can’t wait for the next one!” Horror review list. My lone bitch at this movie. Nothing of the Goetic Seal of King David has a thing to do with Iranians, Syrians, or Arabic culture in general. The hell movie???! Do what these kids cannot do. Read a damn book!

Most I remember of this film is that Diana was played by A.J. Cook (from such projects like The Virgin Suicides, Final Destination 2, & Criminal Minds). But wow I had no idea the Djinn was played by Sean Connery's son! Pretty interesting choice, though it didn't seem to do any favors for his career.

To be honest, I’m really tired of people trying to avoid politics. No, it’s not inherently fun, but it’s the thing that decides whether you get to eat, to have rights, to live a comfortable life, etc. We should all care much more about it than we do.

It depends, avoiding politics does not have to mean that they avoid it at all, but more like the public discussion especially on social media. Hopeless discussions due to half-knowledge and inaccurate facts. I personally prefer to build an opinion on what i vote for by doing my own research instead of believing a war of left against right on twitter. But i see whatcha mean, people who are like "oh i dont care about politics" are those who i will ignore when they complain about a political change they get to feel eventually.

@@LittleBarracuda - It's more the hypocrisy that's the issue. Saying, "Keep politics out of it", is inherently a political statement in favor of the status quo. They don't actually have a problem with political statements in their entertainment media. They just have a problem with the ones that make them feel uncomfortable. Like the whole kneeling during the national anthem "controversy". Taking a knee is supposedly "injecting politics into football"... But how is forcing a public display of performative patriotism before every game *not already* doing that? It is. But it's "okay" because the critics are comfortable with those politics being forced on people.

@@p.d.l7023 A protagonist of Ghoulies 1 is now a cop, strongly into BDSM, and his former love interest (re-casted) conspires with his alter ego, who awaits in the ghoulies universe, to switch their places. And there is a couple of goblins who can supernaturally speak without moving their mouths, communicate only in one-liners and don't contribute to the plot. But then, most of the movie doesn't contribute either.

What, no mention of the wall of text at the start of the movie that rewrites the lore that was loosely established in 1 and 2 and effectively makes this movie more of a soft reboot as opposed to an actual sequel? Now I'm trying to remember if I even bothered with 4 or Nope-a-paloozed out of that particular binge. Maybe your next video will remind me...

Anorexic isn't strictly speaking inaccurate but rather generalizing and lacking of clarity both of which would be inappropriate from a diagnostic or journalistic perspective but realistic for a colloquial exchange, especially for college students in a horror movie.

Wish Master on a submarine written by Andrew Divoff. Why. Why has this not surfaced?! Forget it. Maybe we Tom Stoppard it and write the play within. Something like, A Henchman's Wish. Or escalate previous stakes Wish Master: 20,000 Souls Beneath the Sea (although, that would be a crowded sub).
