Rachel Mastrogiacomo was groomed for predation while studying theology in Rome to serve the Catholic church. Her predator was a deacon at the time, and later was ordained a priest, serving in San Diego. On two occasions, this now-former priest, Jacob Bertrand, held private masses with then-24 year-old Rachel, during which he raped her. He told her that in complying with her rape she was becoming Christ’s special bride.
Rachel suffered devastating life consequences because of the Satanic Ritual Sexual Abuse by Bertrand. After years of silence and shame, Rachel told her diocese of the abuse, but to no avail. Her pleas for help and justice from the Diocese of San Diego, led by Bishop Robert McElroy, were ignored, denied, and deflected. Finally she was forced to go public and take her abuser to court. Bertrand ultimately confessed and was convicted of ritual rape.
What triggers Rachel now and provokes revictimization is the promotion of Bishop McElroy from San Diego to the cardinalate, for he failed to act when she reported Bertrand to the diocese and is failing to protect the vulnerable from Bertrand.

Hi all, Dr. J here. Thanks for all your comments. Those of you who said I interrupted too much, thanks for that feedback. I am trying to be more mindful of that issue as I do more interviews! I hope ya'll will keep coming back and benefiting from our content. Most of our material is "evergreen," meaning that it continues to be relevant, day in and day out, year in and year out. Sounds like he's got the traits of a narcissistic psychopath. I was in a 13 year relationship with a narcissist and was unaware of the manipulation and gaslighting at the time. After separation I learnt a lot about their tactics and their mindset, and started learning about NPD. Having experienced the psychological and sexual abuse it makes it so hard now to be able to trust anyone. I developed cancer during the relationship which I think was due to the extreme stress I suffered during the relationship. Shortly after separating I discovered the cancer had come back and was stage 4 (considered terminal). Despite having the dire cancer diagnosis I am still far happier now than during the time I was with my narc partner. My long term aim is to outlive my ex!

Thank you so much Rachel for your testimony. May the Lord help you to fully heal from this trauma. Seeing her smile, laugh then cry and horrified at different times could show that she still needs more counseling. Especially being part of a spiritual black mass grooming may have long term impacts on her life. Those devils would not easily want to leave her alone knowing that she is quite trusting. I definitely thank God for sending her husband. He clearly saw, understood seeing and believed what she went through. There is definitely no coincidence with our God. Meeting him was the beginning of our delivrance. Jesus Christ usesus all to help our neighbour. This time, it was her good husband!!🙏🏾🙏🏾

Hi Everyone, Thank you for your comments. In looking at some of these comments, I think you can see in miniature some of the things victims have to deal with. Deflection. Changing the subject. Casting doubt on the victim's credibility without actually challenging the salient facts that the man she accused in fact confessed, and was convicted of a felony. I let these comments stand, by way of illustration.

She didn't deserve this. She's good inside and out. Sickos love to prey on people like that. When she asked Jesus to give her cancer...chills. I've wanted to be allowed to die in a way like that. Dear Doctor Morse, this interview was extremely helpful and healing. Listening to Rachel, and especially seeing her facial responses-so totally real-made the interview so valuable as a healing tool. Some never receive true help or healing but continue to be abused and blamed for decades; however, no one comprehends, let alone begins to understand “WHAT IS GROOMING?” “How & Why does grooming work?” And “How does one recover after decades of repeated familial and outer abuse and grooming?” Could you have a program where you specifically detail exactly what grooming is, how it’s done, and how we can help protect our children, family, and friends? Thank you for all the work you do. And please thank Rachel for caring enough about others to share her horrendous trauma. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH

You may want to see that many of the Catholic rituals are Satanic. All religions praise the god of this realm. This is why Jesus told us to disregard the Old Testament, and came here to do just that. If Jesus is your God, why would you eat his flesh, and drink his blood. Or anyone's, for that matter. Think about it.

The Bride of Christ does not sin. But those who are members of the body of Christ DO sin. Bringing up clergy abuse and church politics is a part of the human side of things. When I was in seminary with Jacob Bertrand & Rich Mastrogiacomo I always thought that Bertrand having young female directees (aka the ‘Ange girls’) for spiritual direction was odd. Rich was in the same friend group with Bertrand. As much as I sympathize with Rachel, I wish she was a little more forthright about the fact that her husband was a priest and attended the same prayer meetings in the basement of the PNAC with Bertrand and other female students from the Angelicum.

However, I realize you were a seminarian at the NAC and I completely understand your desire to better understand what transpired. Your questions and concerns are totally valid. However, the point of this interview was not to address our vocational crisis; it honestly would have taken another hour or two to share that aspect of the story. @@rachelmastrogiacomo I’m sorry Rachel- it saddens me to see your lack of self-awareness here. The fact that you married a priest friend of Bertrand is an essential element and should’ve been included in the video. It would not have required another hour to mention that. As someone who has worked with some survivors of clergy sexual abuse when they were children, it saddens me that you are not fully honest here when I know plenty of others who are fully honest and forthright and who aren’t getting or desiring the kind of attention you are receiving. I know too much to take you as seriously as I otherwise would. Regarding your book- please search your conscience and make sure to not sin by omission- omitting pertinent details that provide people with a more complete view of the situation. We see the media do that all the time- omitting pertinent details- let’s not be like them- we are followers of Christ not media people trying to push a narrative to manipulate people. I’m not trying to be mean or nasty- please understand that- but you need to consider this for your own sake. ‘The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth’- this is what we need to be about. It’s good to share your story- but it’s all about how you do that.

We are received as God's children because Jesus Christ was perfect, never sinned, was crucified, died on the Cross, and on the 3rd day conquered death and hell and arose. The depths of hell could not bind Him. Come to the feet of God in humility and repentance. God will sanctify you with His Holy Spirit throughout the rest of your life. We become more like Christ through sanctification.

Just because a man is a priest does not make him without temptations. Women need to stop now...and keep your distance! Our priests are under big attack from all sides, women be prudent and wise. In essence you are questioning the existence of a higher being because of the existence of (despicable) evil. People throughout time have wrestled with that question and often leave without an answer that satisfies. In fact, the story of Jesus is the archetype of horrendous bad happening to good (even innocent) people. If you have had something bad happen to you, and I am deeply sorry if that is the case, or are just struggling with the fact that horrendous evil can happen, I'd highly recommend delving in to the story of Jesus to see if you can glean any insights from it. If you don't have a physical copy, I recommend Bible Hub, as it has many translations available along with additional commentary: biblehub.com/niv/matthew/1.htm

I'll agree that it is a Savior program - but probably not like you're thinking. A Savior program that promises people benefits long after they are dead if they are good in this life seems like it could actually help the world. Too many people are only concerned about the here and now. On the other hand, yes, there are sociopaths who use religion as a tool to gain their ends - which is not just hypocritical, it is the antithesis of good and religion, and it is outright evil and every good Christian ought to work towards ending things like that such as clergy sex abuse. But this isn't a phenomena limited to religions. How many school teachers are guilty of abusing their kids? We actually don't know - though the estimates are insane - millions of kids. Or Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro?

If indeed her story is true (occult stuff and all) or if it is all made up by her, I think it would be fair to say that in either case she needs to repent for her sins as well, ya know "mea culpa"... because it seems she was very willing, maybe for reasons of vanity and self grandeur. Oh the spiritual part, yes, we all deal with it in some ways or another, because those inner/outer demons never stop, but we have will power and must take responsibility for our own actions. We cannot just say "the devil made me do it", which in some ways it is true, but we did the deed anyway. And I read elsewhere that she married an ex seminarian...so yeah the story is sketchy. How do you know what she repented for or didn't repent for? YOUR story seems sketch and it is truly amazing that you have the hubris to cast aspersions on someone whose perpetrator HAS ADMITTED TO DOING ALL OF THIS IN A COURT OF LAW. It is on record. Additionally predators pray upon people's wounds/weaknesses. You think you don't have them? That you couldn't be taken advantage of or be deceived? You have much to learn. Her father passed when she was young. This priest -- gradually, over time - preyed upon this wound as well as her desire to be a holy woman. Additionally, he used black magick, as in witchcraft on her. All of these things to a twenty-something-year old could do grave damage and seriously disrupt or confuse her. Esp. when a priest is supposed to be a spiritual-father-figure and is in a position of authority. Do you honestly think there is nothing within you that the devil couldn't get ahold of and use to try and take you down??? That you are above reproach and in a position to cast apsersions on someone whose story has already been verified? Amazing.

@@cjgodley1776 Apparently you are taking her plight a bit too personal! I am a saint and sinner, as the parlance goes, and am dealing with my own demons(as we all are). So I am not above reproach from GOD! And yes I agree a "priest is supposed to be a spiritual father" and not have sex with laity! But some accounts state he was not a priest and she states that they did the deed in her home. You think she is infallible of sin, just because she states she was preyed upon? Believe all women right? How can she not realize that having sex during the liturgy is "no bueno"??? Even I, who is a man that rejected God for many years know that's such disrespect, but her being versed in the scripture and being a devout Catholic did not see anything unsettling with that? Oh, because her father died when she was 13, lets give her a pass? Come on! Her story is flaky. Hope she feels better and yes I am criticizing, but not judging. Only my LORD above can do this. Wishing death upon one self is a grave sin, it goes against the first commandment. And even if a priest is in grave sin, it is Jesus through the Sacrament of Reconciliation that is the way Jesus grants us forgiveness. So it is not ironic. 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:18-20 “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.” ‬

@johnmcguire4635 Жыл бұрын
@@atgred Actually laying down your life for a friend is literally the highest expression of love according to the Gospel. If you look at the statistics murder and suicide prevail among different groups because they are different, one might say opposite, impulse. Jesus stated repeatedly that he lay down his own life, yet "Christians" are repeatedly blaming Jews, Romans, and whoever they're preaching at for Jesus' death. See murder and suicide are often lumped together by organizations that seek to control societies. Almost all "Christian" churches, contrary to the early martyrs and other self-sacrificers, forbid it. Psychology throws around the term "a danger to himself and others" (which sneakily takes in most people ensuring their job security by exploiting the same institutional lie concerning people's inner workings). But you just go right ahead and spend some time on Jesus' words, and get back to me. Now concerning the priest thing, it goes against both good sense and historical Church practice to confide everything in the trained representative of the hierarchy. Public sins for sure ought to be confessed publicly (as ideally everything ought); private interpersonal grievances ought to be resolved between the two who people concerned (again JESUS); nothing between God and me is anyone's business but ours (notice I haven't told you jack about my prayer, and I never will). Most of this is covered by the common-sense as well as Church-professed principle of subsidiarity. Now if you want to be ridiculously institutionalized that's also your right, but I thought it was important that you have the advantage of some actual wisdom and the words of the Gospel for what appears to be the first time in your life, just in case you ever decide to repent of preaching this anti-Christ drivel. Be blessed!
