Rev. Sage Cole, Pastor at Swedenborg Chapel in Cambridge, MA, explains some of the history of the Swedenborgian churches and offers an understanding of universal salvation that seems to be compatible with many of the themes presented in the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg.

Incompetence is the God of Jesus, failing to complete anything for 2000 years, being the son of a deity, known for a perfect record of doing nothing. Jesus Christ hangeth for all time, because Romans won the war of the Jews. The Messiah of the Jews, The King of the Jews, forever cursed. The Christians are a curse, being the "wolves in sheep's clothing", seeking signs. The only sign given is believers murdering a smaller number of believers. Incompetence is your God, having waited on the Jew' Messiah for 2000 years, indoctrinated by Roman literature. " for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:" Galatians 3:13. You ignore the fact, not all of us can pretend prophesy & God exist. That is why Jesus Christ says, "Think not I come with peace, but sword" & believers make up stories to gloss over the fact they are avoided like the old woman with too many cats. It is amusing to hear the profound arrogance of someone knowing of God, as if He were known outside of fiction. The believer & the literate are separated by the vocabulary of fiction: Blasphemy, God, faith, prayer, prophet, scripture etc. Matthew 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” I like asking believers how they can possibly think their faith is respectable, given Jesus said faith is worthless, since you can't expect obedience when ordering mountains to move? Freud wrote, "The antidote to Christianity is literacy". "Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall". What is The Catholic faith? Organized crime, indoctrinating children with a fantasyland vocabulary? When men are free of religious notions they write, "The antidote to Christianity is literacy." "My sheep hear My voice" is the mindset of slavery. Once free of it, there are no suggestions we all travel better by having one foot in a stranger's fantasyland or Garden of Eden. A mind free of religious text is not tortured by pretending Divinity made Mormons so Christians would know how Jews feel, having pasted their books on to them both. It is by boldness, Moses became the world's worst navigator, by having one foot in some fantasyland. There is a fine line between fishing & standing on the shore, looking like an idiot. Fail to get the Jews to buy it for 2000 years & they should know who their Messiah is. Jesus is a fake, to immortalize the war against the Jews. All-reconciliation describes the end of human history and forms the conclusion of salvation history, through which God brings about His salvation. All reconciliation has taken place when the following has been fulfilled: "All things have submitted to Christ" (1 Cor. 15:25-28, see also Col. 1:15-17, Eph. 1:9-23, Phil. 3:21), "so that at the name of Jesus every knee may bow" and every tongue pay homage: "Lord is Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father" (Phil. 2:11, Isa. 45:23-24), which is only possible in the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:3). Every person will therefore have recognized Jesus as Lord, which opens the way to reconciliation. In this, one can rely on "the living God, who is the Savior of all people" (1 Tim. 4:10, see also 1 Tim. 2:4 and 2 Peter 3:9). The goal of human history from God's perspective is therefore the honor and glorification of Himself through all people and not the salvation of individuals.

Why should we be punished or rewarded for being who we were meant to be?

Punishment or Reward is from our perspective. As the mystic said we were made for heaven. Being made for something does mean we have to accept it.

@@joestar6194 We're told he is 'unspeakable joy' at our misery and will 'wipe away all tears' with the white-light orgasm he is at the tears and the 'gloriously planned' suffering behind them.

When conflating ego/separateness with evil, not that there there can exist healthy separateness. Unfortunate that He did not deign to create this, but rather something that would have to succumb to putting God first rather than carrying out a more organicl, individualistic eternal life. Why should I venerate or respect this God who puts me in this position of cosmic oppression and singularity, or allows it to come to be, then also asks me not to care- to compromise my ego for the sake of the majority's ego? To put away my selfishness would simply indulge the selfishness of the status quo. Vis-a-vis sexuality- trapped in a simplistic 'Godly' male-female dichotomy that Swedenborg celebrates- but if I can exist with full dignity, the male- female paradigm will be threatened. For why should I be a minority? Was I created to serve the majority, or as a counter-example? This is an insult- why can I not exist for my own sake and with my own self-nature? Why would I be an exception, despite having nothing positive to show for it that someone else does not have? It is not a matter of illusion, it is a matter of prioritizing 'God's' selfishness and self-righteousness or mine. His is just one faction among many, vying for influence
