10th and 11th boxes from the largest order I've done in a while. One box is filled with great stuff, and the other...not so much. a $2,000 order of untested camera equipment. Weighs in at over 300 pounds with 14 boxes to go through. This is the SIXTH video in a multi-part series to go over cameras/camcorders and lenses in this lot, test everything, see what works, and assign a value. Tons of unique digicams, bridge cameras, high optical zoom point and shoot cameras, and mini DV & Hi8 Tape camcorders. It includes brands like Nikon, Sony, Canon, Olympus, Fujifilm, Kodak, GE, Polaroid, Panasonic, Minolta, and many more. Recycling and bringing cameras back to life, as well as making some profit along the way is what I'm after!

I love that folks are buying these older digi cameras now. I mostly use SLR/DSLR type cameras now but gutted that a few years ago, I gave away an old Canon Powershot A490 and an A3100 to a local charity shop here in the UK. They were in pretty much mint condition too!

I inherited my family's 8mm tape collection. I had no way to playback to digitize to MP4, so I did have to spend quite a bit to obtain a working Sony 8mm camcorder. Al the tapes have been saved!

Not even on purpose. Shortly after i started watching this channel, my cousin gave me an old Canon IXUS (aka the original ELPH) which is really neat and premium feeling. Looks brand new and works fine gonna take it on a vacation and have some experience shooting on expired APS film!!!!!

Cool Nikon shirt, Nikomat FTn owner, (1967) with (1967) 50 mm/f1.4 Nikkor lens. CLA'd once, 1980. Works perfectly, EXC + condition. Even meter works, a bit jumpy. $60. Love and cherish it.

I've been eyeing the Canon SX200 for a while on ebay, I had one 16 years ago and I miss it... Bummer that the one you got isn't working. Maybe you'll find one in the next boxes!

I'm really enjoying this series of videos. It's interesting to see the behind the scenes process of buying/selling. Looks like you're getting some great inventory to capitalize on the current digicam craze. Personally, I pawn shop and thrift store hop to find cameras, bicycles and associated gear. Great videos, look forward to the conclusion of this series to see how you did.

Nice! I've also done sourcing at pawn shops and thrift stores throughout the Southwest. Unfortunately a lot of the pawn shops in my region have been bought by a conglomerate, and their pricing structures have changed and they are hyper inflated way over eBay pricing on most electronics now.

@@pricklypearcamera I agree, I've seen a price hike recently. I usually gamble on "as is" point and shoots. I have a universal charger for testing and if it works, I'll invest in chargers and batteries. As far as thrift stores, I mainly go to Texas Thrift Store. The Goodwills around here are pretty dry and the pricing is pretty ridiculous. Like I said, I'm really enjoying this series. Keep em coming, I'll keep watching.

Just a small correction the contents of nickel middle hydrated batteries are not acid they are alcohol which is why you use vinegar because vinegar Which is an acid will neutralize the alkaline contents of the battery

Great point! I had never really looked into the chemical compounds, but you are right, it is potassium carbonate which is a strong alkaline. I will adjust my vernacular going forward!

You asked if anyone had any thoughts about how to deal with lens noise on those digicams and there are a few really easy fixes. some are expensive and some are very inexpensive. the more expensive fix is Bang & Olufsen's wireless designer headphones. Then there are AirPods and other types of earbuds. The most inexpensive are Mack's Snore Blockers Soft Foam Earplugs... these are all proven and effective in helping to reduce lens noise. LOL

I have a Lumix DMC-TZ60, I haven't had any dust problems. I had some focus problems, but it turned out to be the user. :D Not used to Panasonic...love the camera.

Nice! Yeah, I really enjoy the super zoom compact Panny's when they don't have zoom or dust issues. I think the US equivalent to the TZ60 is the ZS40 which I have used quite a bit.

@@pricklypearcamera It have 30X optical zoom, it's small. I have never been a fan of EVF's. It's not the best in low ligth, I miss a hot shoe. But for what it is....and it IS 10 years old. :)

Fujifilm E500, I had one. Once again, a thrift store buy. In mint condition with the box , all the papers and book, and cables. A $10 buy. But I discovered it took the xD card, I eventually decided it wasn't worth keeping and I gave it away. Seems I gotta stop doing that!!

A lot of these digicams still have the factory "Hey look at my specs and features!" stickers on the body. Does that sticker affect value?

Not so much in my experience, if its a close to mint camera then it can show they potentially weren’t used much. If they still have hangtags on ‘em that can add a few bucks.

Why dont you get yourself a universal charger to charge for testing then buy the charger only for cameras that work

I have had many over the years, and have found most to be unreliable in terms of charging correctly through each of their 5-20 different battery receptacles, so I largely stick with single purpose chargers now, but they can be a good option for sure.

Wouldn’t it be easier to use a universal charger for testing? You wouldn’t need 150-200 chargers.

I have tried dozens of universal chargers and have found them to be generally unreliable overall for charging performance compared to standalone single unit chargers, so I generally don't use, but they can be a good option.
