This video was originally going to be called something like "The City with Two Faces", which is why in the video I mention it having two faces.. but I was like no way can I miss the opportunity to title it this. So yeah. My first theory video in over 10 months. Hope you all enjoy it.

I have the theory. To me the master of masters is in quadratum looking to open kindom hearts in the real world to summon a god. I think so because yozora has the power to travel in dreams just like noctis in versus 13 and since in versus 13 that power was given to him by etrio, I think yozora has that ability because the real world god gave it to him. I say that because Nomura is taking ideas from versus 13.

I think the biggest thing backing this up is Sora's appearance in each "version." In the mini game he retains his toy-box look. He isn't tenchically in Quadratum. In the dream version, he is in his KH3 outfit. Then in the "true" version he has his new (confirmed to be) Quadratum specific look. I didn't notice this or think about it, but I think it solidly supports this theory. Also in the "dream" version the fight takes in it fades in from the final world and the city "generates." It's not a true version of the world.

Yeah I realised that after I made this video lol. I think most people understand the Toy Box one especially since it usually gets forgotten about. But the dream and true versions are where a lot of confusion comes up, so the outfits are an easy way of pointing out the difference. And yeah I've mentioned the rendering in old videos before so I definitely think that alongside the dive to heart and Yozora saying it's not the real world makes it pretty clear. The thing I'm most curious about is where the commercial fits in. Is it from the true version in the future or part of the dream? I think the dream, and I think it's depicting the trials Yozora went through

This was an amazing theory and I have some ideas to support it: 1. When Sora first goes to the Final World after "dying", Chirithy informs him that he's been there before during his trips to the Stations of Awakening (the Dives to the Heart) because death and sleep are similar (like with real-life anesthesia; the risk of getting anesthetized is that too deep of a sleep physiologically resembles death, and some patients can't recover from such a deep sedation). We saw Sora accidentally wander in this way in the opening tutorial of KH3. So if we're talking about Quadratum being an "afterworld" for those who die in the Kingdom Hearts reality, then it make sense that the Final World - the place in between life and death, in between reality and unreality - can be reached through dreams. And maybe, those in unreality and reality can reach each other through their dreams, meeting in the Final World... 2. When Sora meets Yozora in the Final World, Yozora tells Sora right away that this is not real. When the battle is initiated, we see Sora's Dive to the Heart, and then what you propose is the Dream Quadratum. There are two outcomes of this fight, but we know from the datamine and recent 20th anniversary Nomura fan interview that only one is canon - the one where Sora wins and Yozora wakes up in the dream in the car, indicating it was all a dream. Finally, we get both Sora and Yozora musing that they've been having these weird dreams lately, and not knowing if any of this is for real or not. So it's clear from all of these things that this encounter happened within a dream. Putting that all together, I think it suggests that Sora and Yozora are both dreaming, and their dreams have become connected. But more than that, I think Sora's dream is nestled inside of Yozora's. When Sora meets Yozora, it is the first time we ever see the Final World characterized by the night sky rather than the daytime sky. I believe this is important, as "Sora" means sky and "Yozora" means night sky, suggesting that this is Yozora's dream. Then we see Sora's Station of Awakening *within* and surrounded by the Dream Quadratum. We also see Yozora is able to manipulate the reality of this Quadratum during his attacks - perhaps this is some sort of lucid dreaming... it's Yozora's dream so he can manipulate it? If I had to guess, when Sora committed the taboo against nature to save Kairi, he was sent to Quadratum, which we know is on the other side of the Final World, and when he was passing through he accidentally stepped into Yozora's dreams, basically his version of the Dive to the Heart. Having defeated Yozora, Sora was returned to the Final World (which we see is the real waking Final World, because it's daytime) and allowed to travel onward to Quadratum and/or Dream Quadratum, which is what we see in the KH4 trailer and original KH3 secret ending. And we know from Yozora that when he arrived in Dream Quadratum, there were certain trials he had to go through before being told to save Sora. Perhaps Sora has some trials ahead of him in Dream Quadratum? But that's all just my speculation, maybe chew on it and I'd love to hear what you think! One thing I'm really unsure about is when exactly the Sora/Yozora battle actually takes place. Anyway after the KH4 trailer I am on such a KH kick and I'm so glad the algorithm delivered me to this channel. I guess the soul is always guided by fate to the right place, eh? XD Edit: I made an image to conceptualize how I see all the words of reality and fiction interconnecting. Nomura only knows if its accurate. imgur.com/gallery/0UdtFku

That.... actually makes a lot of sense. 🤔 Given what we've seen from DDD and UnionX, I can easily see this being the main idea for Kingdom Hearts going forward: Riku navigating Quadratum and Sora's dreams to find Sora, Ventus and his connections to UnionX (he was, per se, frequently asleep due to serious darkness), heck even Naminé could help with finding clues and context to Yozora/Quadratum through his dreams/memories. Couple that with the Data connections and the whole "sleep and death touch" principle, and you've got a pretty sound theory!! Also, neat diagram!👍 Really helps illustrate your point on how Unreality and Reality are connected. Makes me wonder what happens when a denizen of Unreality somehow finds its way into Reality 👀. Is the same as what happened to Sora, or....?
@NextGenNovelist

I agree with basically all of this because my video about yozora vs Sora was me coming to a similar conclusion, I just didn't have the KH4 trailer yet for added context. I'm not sure exactly when the fight happens either, but since Sora doesn't know Yozora and he says "That girl, she told me about you, maybe you are real after all", that would imply to me that particular fight couldn't have happened before KH4 if Yozora is in the real Quadratum, because surely they would have already met and not been surprised to see each other. That implies to me that particular scene is before KH4 and after ReMind, but it's that commercial I'm really stuck on. I've suggested in older videos that the commercial might be depicting the trials Yozora said he went through, since it's the only other time we see him in that dream Quadratum. Which would mean that commercial is showing the trials he went through before we fight him. So what we're missing is the outcome of those trials, and why/who told him to Save Sora, but I've said before maybe MoM since he's the only other person we can confirm is there, and we don't know what he's up to. Sora waking up in dream Quadratum might be before he wakes up in KH4, and like you say maybe he has to go through some of his own trials too (perhaps that'll be the prologue to KH4 just like how in the other KH games the prologue usually starts with dreams). Also really great diagram. I've always been uncertain about Game Central Station just because it seems like it's too easy of a way to cross between two realities that we're being told should be inaccessible to each other, but maybe it links with the data/dream version of Quadratum

@@petalpencil1397 Good question about denizens of unreality ending up in reality, makes me wonder if anyone we know is originally from there without us knowing. I guess Luxord is the one we all theorise about being that person. If Luxord is originally from Unreality then I guess that gives us some idea, but not much since we don't fully know about his past

@@NextGenNovelist Game Central Station was definitely the thing I was least certain about when making that 😂 My original draft just had it as a big question mark lol. The commercial is super interesting, I personally think you're right about it depicting the trials, and I think the way the commercial ends is a hint to how the trials went. Just as Yozora is about to reach Stella, reality shatters around them and the enemy forces manage to grab Stella. I think this is showing us the moment that Stella's heart is separated from her body and shoved out of Unreality.

@@NextGenNovelist & @Tristan Neal I want to just point out after this super good video and this amazing comments, that at the end of UnionX, "Player" locks the 5 Darknesses within the corridor that leads to Central Station. So if this diagram and this theory are true, it could be that we actually know from where the Darkside of the KH4 trailer actually comes from. If Central station is at the border between Reality and Unreality, like the Yozora dream and the Final World, something might have happened when Sora was able to reach the dream Quadratum and maybe he accidentally released those 5 Darknesses into Unreality. Otherwise I would be very confused on the reason why we see a Darkside in Unreality, since from Mom´s words Unreality should not be a world able to give form either to pure light or to pure Darkness! Would really love to hear your thoughts on this aspect guys!

Great theory 👍I think that the "daytime" Quadratum is the future, because of Strelitzia. She was probably the one in the pod. Just that this "future" might have been changed or something. That explains Yozora confusion about what is real and not. The Verum Rex game and its characters are probably data now (Aegis, Magia and Nameless Star). It's "playable" according to Toy Box Rex, just that he couldn't pass "Bahamut". Maybe, Verum Rex is a real tragedy that happened to Quadratum at one point and the memories become data. That's how Nameless Star end up in the Final World, she is "real Quadratum citizen" and someone took over everything in the current Quadratum. Intro to KH4 said something about "if the ending isn't what you desired, if it brings you despair... leave it for another... possibility endless". So, I bet someone is trying to stop or recreate a different Quadratum, one that is not what happened in Verum Rex. That would be MoM? Now, is MoM and Yozora related? I think they bring a different "Sora" to the current Quadratum, that is our "KH Sora" to fight. So now, I think Nameless Star is "Sora" by name in the "old Quadratum". Yozora traveling into Dream, maybe is an ability he kept hidden to himself? This ability probably remained because he is from the real Quadratum (Verum Rex). "Save Sora" was probably what he remembered in the real Quadratum. But he is changed, so it's all confusion for him. Yozora DID end up in the Final World when he won against Sora, where Nameless Star is. All of these are too messy for me to even compute. Nomura has gone full metal lol 🤣😱

Wouldn't nighttime Quadratum be the future one? That's where we see all the advanced futuristic tech and the empty, post-apocalyptic setting. Perhaps Yozora's heart was ripped from his body and sent to the past, per the DDD rules of time travel?
@horrorpill
@horrorpill 2 жыл бұрын
@@tristanneal9552 That could be it as well! It would explained why Nameless Star is dead (citizen of "real" Quadratum). We only see her at "night" time in Quadratum! I'm not kicking any theories out dude at that point yours could be right since Nomura is crazy 🤣👍 My thought was that Quadratum is the future. The confusion from Yozora must have been because something in Quadratum changed as well.

I think that the true Quadratum is basically the past and Sora's presence there leads to events that either become an apocalyptic reality for Yozora and the city, or it becomes something the video game is based on. I don't know, it is very confusing, but I can't see any other way. Logically, the city being empty would come AFTER something happens, and I mean a Darkside appearing (especially if other entities appear later) would probably be a good reason to clear everyone out of the city. And yeah, I've always used Yozora appearing in the final world where Nameless Star is as evidence for the star sora theory, since it happens right after he says "I will save you". Funnily enough though, my current beliefs about Quadratum actually plays into the Nameless Star NOT being called Sora, because now there's a clear reason why Yozora might have heard about Sora. Still doesn't explain why he fights him to "save" him or why he seems to have an emotional connection though, so for now I'll keep an open mind on that. And I do really like the idea that the people become data or dreams or something because of the apocalypse that happens, similar to Union X
@NextGenNovelist
@NextGenNovelist 2 жыл бұрын
Oh and also, the other possibility is like I said in the video, that these realities are running parralel to each other. So the dream Quadratum is going through all of its own problems, and the true Quadratum is going through its own problems too. But I still think they could be connected in a past and future type of way.. Yeah it's confusing af 😂

@@NextGenNovelist if we do roll with the future/past theory, it could be that the Darkside appearing leads to the empty/post apocalyptic Quadratum, and that Sora appearing in this world is essentially a "wild card" that isn't part of the preexisting timeline and therefore can change it. Maybe our goal as the player will be to prevent that apocalyptic Quadratum from ever occurring by saving modern Quadratum, saving Yozora and Stella in the process by changing the future. However, the whole battle with Yozora and what he says about "coming to this place and going through some trials" still suggests to me that a parallel and/or dream world is more likely 🤷

Ah like alternate universes. It’s a theory but if Nomura is familiar with the concept he might have decided to use this theory in creating Quadratum. The best explanation I seen for theorem of alternate universes/realities comes from an episode of the 2000s Justice League cartoon in which members of the Justice League end up in an alternate universe which is a universe that Jon Stewart (Green Lantern) recognizes as being one he read about in comics as a kid. As it turns out the Flash somehow managed to cause the members of the Justice League to arrive at this universe via matching the vibrations emitted by the other universe that prevent travel and as a member of that universe’s superhero team theorizes the creator of the comics could have received flashes of events that the alternate universe went through via dreams. I can’t spoil what happened to that universe’s team because it’s pretty heavy so if you want to know look it up.

@@mirandagoldstine8548 Also Nexuses are cruxes of Reality in some Stories. Kind of like a World generator. Further, in the Scala where we fight Xehanort, the center building in shaped like a Heart. Also, the Black and White contrast reminds me of the Chessboard. The Chessboard the Master of Masters says he expanded like Fairytales. So maybe Scala, (the Stairway to Heaven) is the bridge for which the Stories Mom and Darkness generate flow. Kingdom Hearts flowing down the Stairway.

I didn't realize it'd been so long since you made a theory video, but I can say you came back with a bang. I'm honestly surprised how many people still aren't really talking about these differences even after the kh4 basically proves what some of us have been saying for years now. But yes, there's a bunch of possible ways of interpreting what this means for Quadratum and Yozora's story. Very good points about the commercial. They literally show a building being destroyed and all this chaos, and a lot of people are acting like that happened before kh4's trailer, but how if the city is clearly at peace and seems normal? Very good question too about fantasy vs reality, especially with the versus connection everyone goes on about but rarely ties into the wider narrative. I really am curious about that commercial even more now and where it came from.

Because in the good ending Yozora's driver told him look at something & in the bad ending Yozora looks at the window realized he had mistake. This might be reason why Yozora wasn’t in the trailer because he just wake up to seeing a Sora fighting a Darkside.

that video game in toybox always made me suspicious of what Young Xehanort's purpose was in splitting toybox into two worlds... where was he trying to reach with that World as a medium? Was Verum Rex akin to how the Data Twilight Town could reach The World That Never Was? Was The World That Never Was part of Unreality? If so was the Void Xemnas mentioned in kh2 relevant to Unreality somehow?

I'm in agreement with the idea that TWTNW is going to be retroactively connected to Quadratum, with the idea being Xemnas was inspired by his memories of it. AMAZING ANALYSIS!!! You are definitely right!!! wow, congrats for the clarity of the video this makes total sense! I would only add that I do not think that the one we see in the KH4 trailer is the "real" Strelitzia. She is dead and we saw her heart melting and going to KH. I think what we see in the KH4 trailer is the "data" Strelitzia. If Quadratum IS "Unreality" maybe that is why it was possible to send a data version of someone there and have her have a new body and all her memories without the need of a medium and of someone holding her memory. If this is true, this would in a way represent a "hope" for all the Dandelions and old keyblade wielders of the past who died in the Keyblade war. And maybe Strelitzia was the "guinea pig" of the situation and Sora now is the one who needs to find a way to go bring her (and possibly all the people in the data world from the past - black box? -) back home. If this theory is true, than this would be the biggest cheat of all times: you would have found a way not only to go on with the reincarnation of your heart via the "normal" way through KH, but you could cheat death itself by bringing any data version of yourself first to Unreality where your body is reformed and then travel back to Reality. :O

They literally put the Square Enix logo visibly in a KH world on the box of this mysterious video game that supposedly depicts people and a place from another reality.. A reality where Square Enix might possibly exist. About the commercial, the only person who really fits right now is Young Xehanort, and it was later confirmed in Melody of Memory he does know about Unreality, so tbh it was probably him.. I have a theory that it may be a copy like toy box. I don't know if you've ever heard of the sephirotic tree but there are 10 points in 5he depiction. Now imagine there's 10 total realms in this double sided coin of existence. On one side you have the realm of dark, light, between, data(what little we know of it), with dreams and memories also being able to be physically manifested places a conscious person can visit[Dreams(sleeping worlds)Memories(Scala ad Caelum when used to trap xehanort)] (dark holds sleep,sleep holds dreams, dreams hold memory). Now in the middle of the two sides you have the realm of death. I have a theory that if you die and your heart goes back to kingdom hearts and your body withers away that this "realm of death" is where you soul goes. On the other side of the coin is either a copy or a dream, as well as the real quadratum. Now the final realm, the singularity in this duality is the realm of sleep. My theory is that while there is 2 separate realms of sleep one for kh and one for quadratum, they are connected because sleep and death touch and one can't help the occasional crossover, and since riku has a strong connection to soras heart he was able to enter the sleeping version of quadratum through his dreams. But because it was through dreams it was unintentional. Now I believe yozora might have the power of waking as well, because sleep seems to be the one thing synonymous with both sides of reality, and because he was able to sense and observe riku while riku was dreaming. So by normal means even through dreams there would be no way to cross the gate of death and into 5he other side. But both sora and the nameless star broke nature taboos and now exist for portals to be created between the 2. Sleep seems to almost be a sort of primordial force like light and darkness, except when manipulated the user of sleep based powers can manipulate reality. Turning back time, creating worlds to trap people outside time and space using their own heart, etc.and on top of being a primordial force of sorts it also shares dominion over both sides of reality. So in conclusion when you in kh, normally your heart goes back to kingdom hearts to be reborn, your body withers away but where does the soul/mind go? My theory is the realm of death between the 2 sides of reality. It's also possible that one might only need a soul and body in quadratum since there's no kingdom hearts, and sora being banished here by his own universe means he brought his body mind and heart then he could've brought some anomalies with him

There is one small bit of information we received after the trailer that might explain some discrepancy. The fourth menu command was translated to be "Build & Scrap". In other words, the power to use WEAPONS well build them in real time, is indeed possible for Sora. I'm just guessing they left those out to not give everything away yet. Likely, the Gigas might look a bit more... realistic for one. Also possibility for them to build weapons from Star Wars for example. Another thought that occurred to me, is I really like the idea of Sora possibly being the cause but I feel more so, there might just be a bit of time shenanigans. Re:Mind has a one year timeskip after Sora's disappearance before KH4 indicates Sora just being asleep for 7 days upon arriving in Quadratum. I'm thinking Sora has 1 year and 7 days up on the Guardians of Light. The battle with Yozora might have taken place in his dreams OR just before his power of waking completely fades and he disappears, transmigrating to Quadratum. One final thought bugging me, Yozora's heart being replaced by another? The Nameless Star too? What if...Strelitzia replaced or shall we say, displaced the Nameless Star. Then when Sora gets there, he displaces Yozora?

Well there being a dream and true Quadratum does make sense. I am not convinced that is the only answer and heavily lean towards there being something off about the timeline instead. However I am overall unwilling to really decide what I think when we don't have more details. I am actually playing around with the idea that Sora becomes Yozora over the corse of KH4. This was a theory that was floating around before it become clear that Nameless Star is connected to Yozora, which become clear in Remind. However Sora's new hair cut and the fact that it has moments where it looks like it is turning silver in the trailer is making me question it again. I don't really have a good explanation for Nameless Star but most everything else that we know could fit this theory. And I haven't been able to get it out of my head since I saw the new trailer. It's an impossible theory given Nameless Star but I have always liked it. I really need to get it out of my head though because it is impossible without something really odd happening with the timeline.

I'm thinking square probably gave Nomura the versus project again. He's normally directing multiple projects at one and we know that remake 2 has a different director. That interview he gave in which they said verum rex was in idea in pre producción makes me wonder what if there's a different team making a ff o verum rex specific game

Nomura said something along the lines of "Verum Rex and KH4 were up next, and I chose to do KH4 first to answer where Sora was." I think Verum Rex will serve as the "358/2 Days" of the Lost Masters Arc, as it will take place pre-KH4 (ending with the battle against Sora from Yozora's perspective) while setting things up for KH5.

This is kinda unrelated but I think the guy narrating in the kh4 trailer is young xehanort. Compare the Japanese voice of the guy in the trailer with the Japanese voice of young xehanort from kh3 and they sound very similar. And then again young xehanort was the only xehanort who didn’t give a nice parting message to sora but rather parted away giving sora a warning about his fate

I used to think the same, but it was already confirmed that voice was Sigurd from Missing Link which is quite interesting

Not two but 4 faces ( quad means 4 ) realm of dreams, data , memory and one... In reality. I wonder if yozora and sora. Are dreaming creating both realms. In versus 13 noctis was supposed to sleep and travel to different worlds but this was canceled. We actually see sora waking up in noctis from versus 13 bed. Meaning that maybe sora is the dreamer.

Personally I think there are at least 4 Quadratums. 1) Verum Rex (trailer/videogame) Quadratum; The trailer at the start of Toy Box and the game that Young Xehanort throws Sora into 2) Sora's dream of Verum Rex Quadratum; The power of waking takes the user into the target's dream, so when Yozora uses the power of waking on Sora in Remind it must take him into the dream of Sora and because Verum Rex Quadratum is the only Quadratum that Sora knows, it must be Sora's dream version of Verum Rex Quadratum that they end up in. Evidence of it being a dream of specifically Verum Rex quadratum is in the way it "renders" in. Video games render in, but real world should not. 3) Riku in a dream within a dream of Sora's dream of Quadratum; The Yozora secret ending seems to suggest that Sora and Riku are in two different places that look exactly the same, so like in DDD, this could be a dream within a dream scenario. Unkown if it's a dream of real Quadratum or Verum Rex Quadratum 4) Real Quadratum; The one that Yozora wakes up in in Remind and where Sora and Strelitzia are currently located 2 and 3 are likely no longer relevant since they seem to have served their purposes. 2's purpose being a way to have Sora and Yozora fight in "Quadratum" that is consistent with the established rules of the power of waking. 3's purpose is to give a lead to the protagonists as to where Sora is. 1 may also have served its purpose if it was just to give a preview of Quadratum and hints of what's to come.

Very good points. I was uncertain about whether or not to put the toy box game and commercial under the same category, but in the end I didn't because that game is still attached to Toy box/kh reality which is why Sora still has the toy box look, and the information bar says to defeat the gigas *toys*. In the commercial it does advertise those same toys, but the actual people and gigas' in the commercial all have a very real look (and so do the ones yozora summons in his fight, they're not toys like in that game version). I forgot to mention this in the video, but in older videos I suggested the commercial might be showing the trials yozora went through in his dreams before he encountered Sora. But yeah, I agree 2 and 3 have probably served their purpose already. I'm guessing that means Riku should be in the true Quadratum, unless Nomura is fucking with us and that scene shows him after Melody of Memory, meaning Nameless Star is actually from the dream Quadratum

Idk, but it was confirmed he was in Quadratum through dreams. Whether or not he was a dream eater tbh doesn't really matter. It still basically implies there's two Quadratums that are showing us vastly different things
