Chef Staib reveals the origins of sushi in Japan. We travel to the Kobe area, to see the most prized and pampered beef in the world being raised. And we tour the Imperial Palace in Kyoto for a very memorable Taste of History from Japan.
---
Chef Walter Staib travels the globe, to historical locations, into famous kitchens and exotic markets to bring you A Taste of History. The cooking TV series explores, educates, and brings America's culinary heritage to life through the recreation of elegant and sumptuous dishes inspired by the founding fathers.

1:33 sorry that's a rumor without any supporting evidence. Nothing indicates that fermenting fish with rice came from SE Asia. On the other hand, the original sushi most likely took inspiration from similar fermented dishes or raw fish dishes much closer to home, such as those consumed by the ancient Sinitic people of North China or by the ancient Koreans.

watch any youtube video by an actual sushi master and he would have slapped the wasabi out of his dudes hand. NEVER mix it in the soy sauce.

LMAO. You don't need years of training to learn how to make sushi.
