Thanks for sharing this video with all your followers. My wife and I went there today because the lasagna and chicken plate looked so ono! Funny story: when we walked into the shop, I told the guy at the counter that we were here because of your video. All the other customers there laughed because they said, “ Us, too!!!” Looks like you made quite an impact. The only thing, though, is that my lasagna was smaller than the one you had. Maybe we all look bigger on camera, yeah? Hahaha. But, there’s no denying the quality. Just like how we remember the food at Paesano.

Wow! 😮 that's a wonderful story and I'm glad it got out to all those people and they actually went. How wonderful! Sorry the lasagna wasn't as big. Maybe thongs do look bigger on camera. I know I do. 😂

Glad that you found your way to this hidden gem. Good portions, taste, and price. Workers are very friendly. Their lasagna is the best I have had in my life. No matter what you order ...it's worth it.

Aloha Misty!! The Lasagna, Pasta, Steak, and Shrimp looked good. I would def eat the Steak and Nhi eat the shrimp then I would get that lasagna😋 and I agree. Posting pics of each meal only helps! I will go eat there. I wanna hear the story possible how the 3 workers decided to talk about opening a place together and having it actually happen. Good for them!! Mahalo for another great review🤙👍

Aloha Sean! Yes I think you'd love it here. The lasagna was amazing and I'm sure all the chicken dishes are too! And there is seafood options for Nhi! Ming was very nice so I'm sure he'd be glad to tell you the story of how they all got together to form this restaurant. I gotta catch up on YT and view your most recent video. Have a great week!

Thanks for the review. I found the place on accident. I made a wrong turn, and there I was the day before their grand opening. I really enjoyed my meal. I want to try the steak and scampi. 🍍😎🤙🌴🥥🌺🌈

As a little side salad with house dressing, I love Monarch's Seafood Nalo Greens. Sometimes I just get the greens & dressing, instead of rice in my plate lunches.

Yes I like Monarch Seafood's salad too. Haven't been in a while but love their food. Haven't been since I videoed them. That was years ago.

@@FoodFiend Over the past few years, Monarch's has been constantly tweaking their menu. The last time I went there, they even removed their great Hamburger Steak from the menu. I just checked their online menu today, and it seems that they've taken all of their beef selections off the daily menu; as they only have two pork selections. BUT they do have a teri beef pan on their catering menu, so they gone fully away from beef after all.

@bolohead1 yes I enjoyed the food. A but pricey but for the taste and comfort of eating the rest at home and for lunch the next day I was OK with it.

Looks like it's in the same area as Nanding's Bakery. If you use that as a "landmark," I think most people will easily locate the restaurant. The plates look good! Thanks for sharing.

The up close video makes all the difference to see the melted cheese and yumminess of the lasagna. Both plates looks great!

I was bummed when Paesano (Manoa) closed, so when you said a couple of the cooks went there, this place is on my list. Thank you for sharing! (That chicken and lasagna combo, for sure!)

That looks so good Misty!! Whenever I go to Paesanos in Waimalu, I order that steak with shrimp scampi!! It’s cooked with a port wine sauce and I can just taste it!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

@@FoodFiend yes, we did. The lady helped us pick two dishes and a couple of ladies were making two different types of noodles. We knew it was a very popular place so we went early afternoon and brought them home to enjoy 😋. When we went back to pick up our order, there were a lot of people waiting to order. Also been to Haleiwa Joe's four times. As we live on Lilipuna Rd., the one on Haiku Gardens has been our preferred place. Sorry, maybe I should have put all these comments on your other Kaneohe video.

And BTW (shameless self-aggrandizing plug) my little duo plays Eagle Cafe Wednesday evenings and tomorrow, Sunday 7/7/24 we're at the Pacific Palisades Top of the Hill Open Market from 11:30 AM. They have some pretty good snacks there. 🤙

That place has been on my list for a few weeks, but your review has bumped it up to the top. Will definitely try next time I'm in Waipahu. It depends if my wallet is only allowing me to go to Garden Island Cafe, about 100 yards away, LOL!

Been there! Vietnamese owned! It's not bad. Not on the level of Assaggio or Paesano, but close. Instead of breadsticks, just go Nandings next door and get some Spanish Rolls.

@spang9782 I know that's why...the pasta is way over the limit for carbs for me. On our cruise I gained 8lbs from all that bread and pasta and potatoes. Even after hiking 10 miles a day in Canada it's hard to get rid of. I usually eat no carbs at all. Only for the videos. I gain weight too fast and my blood work goes to hell.

hate that parking lot as the stalls are narrow and angled funky ! Wonder what happened to the Korean restaurant (like mom and daughter run)? Used to eat there and found the pricing odd... But will try this place soon, as I cannot be going to Garden Island Cafe too much lol ! In the same building where Nanding's Bakery is located !

Chodang? Never went to that one but always ate at the Ala Moana one. I guess business is hard. Tough to make a living running a restaurant. I agree, the parking is weird but I was lucky and got the end stall near the handicap area. Those stalls are a bit wider on that side.

Awesome! I don't really go to concertd anymore. I used to as a teenager and in my 30s. I'm old, anti social and actually have hearing loss from playing music for so long. It's a great idea though! Although not sure how you'd make some income from KZfaq as they copyright everything.

No. I know most Asians are but I'm not full Asian. I hate milk straight up as in taste, but I can eat creamy pastas with heavy cream, any cheese and ice cream. My son drinks 2 gallons of milk a week.

I loved Paisanos in Manoa for their Osso Bucco, it was the best then they closed. So sad. I check these guys menu….no Osso Bucco 😢. Oh well! Great video hope to see you on zoom! Peace out!!!!

Oh no! Maybe I'd you ask them. They're young and seem to have weekly specials. You can suggest it. Probably too hard to buy the shanks maybe? I'll try my best to stay up tonight. I never cane on because I had to work today. Ugh. Pretty much the whole month is like that.
