Dio guardate !If ONLY he had been more careful with his voice and not sung Calaf etc. But you cannot fight with fire and it was a waste of time telling Pippo that he should be following Schipa’s maxim ‘sing on the interest of the voice, not the capital’.

Thanks for uploading. My favourite tenor and listening to the live 1955 Lucia really resparked an interest in opera that has continued for 30+ years. There is a moment in that opera, when edgardo is asking Lucia if it is her signature on the marriage contract, that, in two small moments is the epitome of opera for me.
